1 De plus, frères, je vous déclare l’évangile que je vous ai prêché, lequel vous avez aussi reçu, et dans lequel vous vous tenez;

 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 Par lequel aussi vous êtes sauvés, si vous gardez en mémoire ce que je vous ai prêché, à moins que vous n’ayez cru en vain.

 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 Car je vous ai transmis avant tout cela ce que j’ai aussi reçu, comment Christ mourut pour nos péchés selon les écritures;

 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 Et qu’il a été enterré, et qu’il est ressuscité le troisième jour, selon les écritures:

 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5 Et qu’il a été vu par Céphas, puis par les douze:

 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6 Après cela, il a été vu par plus de cinq cents frères en même temps; dont la plupart sont vivants jusqu’à présent, mais quelques-uns se sont endormis.

 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7 Après cela, il a été vu par Jacques; puis par tous les apôtres.

 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8 Et après tous il a été vu de moi aussi, comme de quelqu’un né prématuré.

 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

9 Car je suis le moindre des apôtres, moi qui ne suis pas digne d’être appelé un apôtre, parce que j’ai persécuté l’église de Dieu.

 9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

10 Mais par la grâce de Dieu je suis ce que je suis: et sa grâce qu’il m’a accordée ne fut pas en vain; mais j’ai peiné plus abondamment qu’eux tous: cependant non pas moi, mais la grâce de Dieu qui était avec moi.

 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

11 Par conséquent que ce soit moi ou eux, ainsi nous prêchons, et ainsi vous avez cru.

 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

12 Or si Christ est prêché qu’il est ressuscité d’entre les morts, comment disent quelques-uns parmi vous qu’il n’y a pas de résurrection des morts?

 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 Mais s’il n’y a pas de résurrection des morts, alors Christ n’est pas ressuscité:

 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

14 Et si Christ n’est pas ressuscité, alors notre prédication est vaine, et votre foi est aussi vaine.

 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15 Oui, et nous sommes trouvés comme de faux témoins de Dieu; parce que nous avons témoigné de Dieu qu’il ressuscita Christ: lequel il n’a pas ressuscité, s’il est ainsi que les morts ne ressuscitent pas.

 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

16 Car si les morts ne ressuscitent pas, alors Christ n’est pas ressuscité:

 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

17 Et si Christ n’est pas ressuscité, votre foi est vaine; vous êtes encore dans vos péchés.

 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

18 Alors ceux aussi qui se sont endormis en Christ ont péri.

 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

19 Si dans cette vie seulement nous avons espérance en Christ, nous sommes de tous les hommes les plus misérables.

 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20 Mais maintenant Christ est ressuscité d’entre les morts, et devient les premiers fruits de ceux qui dormaient.

 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

21 Car puisque par l’homme est venue la mort, par l’homme est venue aussi la résurrection des morts.

 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22 Car comme en Adam tous meurent, oui certainement en Christ tous seront rendus vivants.

 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23 Mais chaque homme en son propre rang: Christ est les prémices; ensuite ceux qui appartiennent à Christ à sa venue.

 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

24 Puis vient la fin, lorsqu’il aura transmis le royaume à Dieu, c’est-à-dire le Père; lorsqu’il aura supprimé tout gouvernement et toute autorité et pouvoir.

 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 Car il doit régner jusqu’à ce qu’il ait mis tous les ennemis sous ses pieds.

 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 Le dernier ennemi qui sera détruit est la mort.

 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27 Car il a mis toutes choses sous ses pieds. Mais lorsqu’il dit que toutes choses sont mises sous lui, il est manifeste qu’il est excepté, celui qui a mis toutes choses sous lui.

 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

28 Et lorsque toutes choses lui auront été assujetties, alors le Fils lui-même aussi sera assujetti à celui qui a mis toutes choses sous lui, afin que Dieu soit tout en tous.

 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

29 Autrement que feront ceux qui sont baptisés pour les morts, si les morts ne ressuscitent absolument pas? pourquoi sont-ils alors baptisés pour les morts?

 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

30 Et pourquoi sommes-nous en péril à toute heure?

 30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?

31 J’affirme par votre réjouissance que j’ai en Christ Jésus notre Seigneur, que je meurs chaque jour.

 31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

32 Si suivant la manière des hommes j’ai combattu contre les bêtes à Éphèse, quel avantage en ai-je, si les morts ne ressuscitent pas? Mangeons et buvons: car demain nous mourrons.

 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

33 Ne soyez pas trompés: les mauvaises fréquentations corrompent les bonnes manières.

 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

34 Réveillez-vous à la droiture et ne péchez pas, car quelques-uns n’ont pas la connaissance de Dieu: je dis ceci à votre honte.

 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

35 Mais un homme dira, Comment les morts ressuscitent-ils? et avec quel corps viennent-ils?

 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

36 Toi insensé, ce que tu sèmes n’est pas vivifié, sauf s’il meurt:

 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

37 Et ce que tu sèmes, tu ne sèmes pas ce corps qui sera, mais du grain nu, ce peut-être de blé, ou de quelque autre grain:

 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

38 Mais Dieu lui donne un corps comme il lui a plu, et à chaque semence son propre corps.

 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

39 Toute chair n’est pas la même chair: mais il y a une sorte de chair pour les hommes, une autre chair pour les bêtes, une autre pour les poissons, et une autre pour les oiseaux.

 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

40 Il y a aussi des corps célestes, et des corps terrestres: mais la gloire des célestes est une, et la gloire des terrestres est une autre.

 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

41 Il y a une gloire du soleil, et une autre gloire de la lune, et une autre gloire des étoiles: car une étoile diffère d’une autre étoile en gloire.

 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

42 Ainsi aussi est la résurrection des morts. Il est semé dans la corruption; il est ressuscité dans l’incorruptibilité:

 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43 Il est semé dans le déshonneur; il est ressuscité dans la gloire: il est semé dans la faiblesse; il est ressuscité avec pouvoir:

 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44 Il est semé un corps naturel; il est ressuscité un corps spirituel. Il y a un corps naturel, et il y a un corps spirituel.

 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

45 Et ainsi il est écrit, Le premier homme Adam, a été fait une âme vivante; le dernier Adam a été fait un esprit vivifiant.

 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

46 Quoi qu’il en soit ce n’était pas le premier qui est spirituel, mais ce qui est naturel; et ensuite ce qui est spirituel.

 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

47 Le premier homme est de la terre, terrestre: le second homme est le Seigneur venu du ciel.

 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 Comme est le terrestre, tels sont aussi ceux qui sont terrestres: et comme est le céleste, tels sont aussi ceux qui sont célestes.

 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 Et comme nous avons porté l’image du terrestre, nous porterons aussi l’image du céleste.

 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 Maintenant je dis ceci, frères, que chair et sang ne peuvent hériter le royaume de Dieu; ni la corruption hériter l’incorruptibilité.

 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Voici, je vous déclare un mystère; Nous ne dormirons pas tous, mais nous serons tous changés,

 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 En un moment, en un clin d’œil, au dernier son de trompe: car la trompette sonnera, et les morts ressusciteront incorruptibles, et nous serons changés.

 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 Car ce corps corruptible doit revêtir l’incorruptibilité, et ce corps mortel doit revêtir l’immortalité.

 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 Ainsi lorsque ce corruptible aura revêtu l’incorruptibilité, et ce mortel aura revêtu l’immortalité, alors sera arrivé à être accomplie ce dire qui est écrit, La mort est engloutie dans la victoire.

 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 Ô mort, où est ton aiguillon? Ô tombe, où est ta victoire?

 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 L’aiguillon de la mort est le péché; et la vigueur du péché est la loi.

 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 Mais remercions Dieu qui nous donne la victoire par le moyen de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ.

 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Par conséquent, mes frères bien-aimés, soyez fermes, inébranlables, toujours abondant dans l’œuvre du Seigneur, d’autant que vous savez que votre labeur n’est pas en vain dans le Seigneur.

 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
