1 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse, disant :
|
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
|
2 Sanctifie-moi tout premier-né, tout ce qui ouvre l’utérus parmi les enfants d’Israël, tant de l’homme que de la bête ; il est à moi.
|
2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
|
3 ¶ Et Moïse dit au peuple : Souvenez-vous de ce jour où vous êtes sortis d’Égypte, de la maison de servitude, car par la vigueur de la main, le SEIGNEUR vous a fait sortir de ce lieu ; on ne mangera pas de pain levé.
|
3 ¶ And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
|
4 Vous êtes sortis ce jour, au mois d’Abib.
|
4 This day came ye out in the month Abib.
|
5 ¶ Et quand le SEIGNEUR t’aura amené dans la terre des Canaanites (Cananéens), des Hittites (Héthiens), des Amorites (Amoréens), des Hivites (Héviens) et des Jebusites (Jébusiens), laquelle il a juré à tes pères de te donner, un pays ruisselant de lait et de miel, il arrivera que tu célébreras ce service en ce mois-ci.

5 ¶ And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
|
6 Pendant sept jours tu mangeras du pain sans levain, et au septième jour sera une fête au SEIGNEUR.
|
6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.
|
7 Du pain sans levain sera mangé pendant sept jours ; et l’on ne verra aucun pain levé chez toi et aucun levain ne sera vu avec toi dans toutes tes contrées.
|
7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
|
8 ¶ Et tu feras connaître à ton fils en ce jour-là, disant : Cela est fait en raison de ce que le SEIGNEUR a fait pour moi, lorsque je suis sorti d’Égypte.
|
8 ¶ And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
|
9 Et cela te sera pour un signe sur ta main, et pour un mémorial entre tes yeux, afin que la loi du SEIGNEUR puisse être dans ta bouche, car par une main forte le SEIGNEUR t’a fait sortir d’Égypte.
|
9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
|
10 Tu garderas donc cette ordonnance, en sa saison, chaque année.
|
10 Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year.
|
11 ¶ Et il arrivera, quand le SEIGNEUR t’aura fait entrer dans la terre des Canaanites (Cananéens), comme il l’a juré à toi et à tes pères et qu’il te l’aura donnée ;
|
11 ¶ And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
|
12 Que tu mettras à part pour le SEIGNEUR tout ce qui ouvre l’utérus, et tout premier-né qui vient d’une bête que tu posséderas ; les mâles seront au SEIGNEUR.
|
12 That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD’S.
|
13 Et tout premier-né de l’âne tu rachèteras par un agneau ; et si tu ne le rachètes pas, alors tu lui briseras sa nuque ; et tout premier-né de l’homme parmi tes enfants, tu le rachèteras.
|
13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
|
14 ¶ Et quand à l’avenir ton fils t’interrogera, disant : Qu’est-ce que cela ? Tu lui diras : Par la vigueur de sa main le SEIGNEUR nous a fait sortir d’Égypte, de la maison de servitude.
|
14 ¶ And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:
|
15 Et il arriva, lorsque Pharaon s’obstinait à ne pas nous laisser aller, que le SEIGNEUR tua tout premier-né dans le pays d’Égypte, depuis le premier-né de l’homme jusqu’au premier-né du bétail ; c’est pourquoi, je sacrifie au SEIGNEUR tout mâle qui ouvre l’utérus, mais tout premier-né de mes enfants je rachète.

15 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.
|
16 Et cela sera pour indice sur ta main et pour fronteaux entre tes yeux, car par la vigueur de sa main, le SEIGNEUR nous a fait sortir d’Égypte.
|
16 And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.
|
17 ¶ Et il arriva, quand Pharaon laissa aller le peuple, que Dieu ne les conduisit pas par le chemin du pays des Philistins, bien que plus proche ; car Dieu dit : De peur que d'aventure, le peuple ne se repente quand ils verront la guerre et qu’ils ne retournent en Égypte.

17 ¶ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
|
18 Mais Dieu mena le peuple par un détour à travers le chemin du désert de la mer Rouge ; et les enfants d’Israël montèrent équipés hors du pays d’Égypte.
|
18 But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
|
19 Et Moïse prit les os de Joseph avec lui ; car il avait expressément fait jurer les enfants d’Israël, disant : Dieu certainement vous visitera ; et vous transporterez mes os d’ici avec vous.
|
19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
|
20 ¶ Et ils partirent de Succoth et campèrent à Etham, au bord du désert.
|
20 ¶ And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.
|
21 Et le SEIGNEUR allait devant eux, de jour dans une colonne de nuage, pour les conduire sur le chemin, et de nuit dans une colonne de feu, pour les éclairer, pour aller de jour et de nuit.
|
21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
|
22 Il ne retira pas de devant le peuple la colonne de nuage, le jour, ni la colonne de feu, la nuit.
|
22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
