1 La parole du SEIGNEUR vint encore à moi, disant :

1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Fils de l’homme, dresse ta face vers la montagne de Seir, et prophétise contre elle

 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

3 Et dis-lui : Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU : Voici, j'en veux à toi, ô montagne de Seir, et j'étendrai ma main sur toi, et ferai de toi la plus dévastée.

 3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

4 Je dévasterai tes villes, tu seras ravagée, et tu sauras que je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

5 Parce que tu avais une haine perpétuelle, et que tu as fait couler le sang des enfants d'Israël à coup d'épée, au temps de leur calamité, au temps où leur iniquité était à sa fin,

 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

6 C'est pourquoi, je suis vivant, dit le Seigneur DIEU, je te préparerai pour le sang, et le sang te poursuivra ; puisque tu n'as pas haï le sang, le sang aussi te poursuivra.

 6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

7 Je ferai la montagne de Seir la plus dévastée, et j'en retrancherai celui qui traverse et celui qui revient.

 7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.

8 Et je remplirai ses montagnes de ces tués ; sur tes collines, dans tes vallées et dans toutes tes rivières tomberont ceux qui ont été tués par l'épée.

 8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.

9 Je te réduirai en désolations perpétuelles, et tes villes n'existeront plus, et vous saurez que je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

10 Parce que tu as dit ces deux nations et ces deux pays seront à moi, et nous nous les posséderont, quoi que le SEIGNEUR ait été là ;

 10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:

11 C'est pourquoi, je suis vivant, dit le Seigneur DIEU, j'agirai selon ton courroux et selon ta jalousie que tu as utilisés à cause de tes haines contre eux, et je me ferai connaître parmi eux, quand je t'aurai jugé.

 11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.

12 Et tu sauras que je suis le SEIGNEUR, et que j'ai entendu tous tes blasphèmes que tu as proférés contre les montagnes d'Israël, en disant : Elles sont dévastées, elles nous sont données pour les consumer.

 12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.

13 Et de votre bouche vous vous êtres vantés contre moi, et vous avez multiplié vos paroles contre moi ; je les ai entendu.

 13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

14 Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU : Lorsque la terre entière se réjouira, je ferai de toi une désolation.

 14 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.

15 Comme tu t'es réjouie sur l'héritage de la maison d'Israël, parce qu'il a été ravagé, j'en ferai de même avec toi ; tu seras ravagée, ô montagne de Seir, avec l'Idumée tout entière, et ils sauront que je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
