1 La parole du SEIGNEUR qui vint à Jeremiah (Jérémie), aux jours de Jehoiakim, fils de Josiah, roi de Juda, disant :
|
1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
|
2 Va à la maison des Rechabites, et parle-leur, et amène-les dans la maison du SEIGNEUR, dans une des chambres, et donne-leur du vin à boire.
|
2 Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
|
3 Je pris donc Jaazaniah (Jaazania), le fils de Jeremiah (Jérémie), fils de Habaziniah, et ses frères, et tous ses fils, et toute la maison des Rechabites ;
|
3 Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
|
4 Et je les amenai à la maison du SEIGNEUR, dans la chambre des fils de Hanan, le fils de Igdaliah, un homme de Dieu, laquelle était auprès de la chambre des princes, qui était au-dessus de la chambre de Maaseiah, le fils de Shallum, garde de la porte.
|
4 And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
|
5 Et je mis devant les fils de la maison des Rechabites des gobelets pleins de vin et des coupes, et je leur dis : Buvez du vin.
|
5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
|
6 Mais ils dirent : Nous ne boirons pas de vin ; car Jonadab, le fils de Rechab, notre père, nous a recommandé, disant : Vous ne boirez pas de vin, ni vous ni vos fils, à toujours ;
|
6 But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
|
7 Vous ne bâtirez pas de maison ; vous ne sèmerez pas de semence ; vous ne planterez pas de vigne, et vous n’en n’aurez aucune : mais vous demeurerez dans des tentes, afin que vous viviez beaucoup de jours sur la terre où vous êtes étrangers.
|
7 Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
|
8 Nous avons donc obéi à la voix de Jonadab le fils de Rechab, notre père, en tout ce qu’il nous a commandé ; de ne pas boire de vin tous nos vies, ni nous, ni nos femmes, ni nos fils, ni nos filles ;
|
8 Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
|
9 Nous n’avons pas bâti de maisons pour y demeurer, nous n’avons ni vignes, ni champs, ni semailles,
|
9 Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
|
10 Mais nous sommes demeurés sous des tentes, et nous avons obéi, et fait selon tout ce que nous a commandé Jonadab, notre père.
|
10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
|
11 Mais il est arrivé que lorsque Nebuchadrezzar (Nebuchadnezzar), roi de Babylone, est monté contre le pays, nous avons dit : Venez, et allons à Jérusalem, par crainte de l’armée des Chaldéens et de l’armée des Syriens : et avons demeuré à Jérusalem.

11 But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
|
12 ¶ Alors la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à Jeremiah (Jérémie), disant :
|
12 ¶ Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
|
13 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, le Dieu d’Israël : Va, et dis aux hommes de Juda, et aux habitants de Jérusalem : Ne recevrez-vous pas instruction, pour écouter mes paroles ? dit le SEIGNEUR.

13 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
|
14 Les paroles de Jonadab le fils de Rechab (Récab), qu’il a commandé à ses fils de ne pas boire de vin ont été accomplies ; car jusqu’à ce jour ils n’en ont pas bu, mais ont obéi le commandement de leur père : Cependant moi, je vous ai parlé, me levant de bonne heure et parlant ; mais vous ne m’avez pas écouté.

14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
|
15 Je vous ai envoyé tous mes serviteurs, les prophètes me levant de bonne heure et les envoyant, disant : Retournez-vous chacun de votre mauvais chemin, et amendez vos actions, et n’allez pas après d’autres dieux pour les servir ; et vous demeurerez dans le pays que j’ai donné à vous et à vos pères ; mais vous n’avez pas incliné votre oreille, et vous ne m’avez pas écouté.

15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
|
16 Parce que les fils de Jonadab, fils de Rechab (Récab), ont observé le commandement que leur père leur avait commandé ; et ce peuple ne m’a pas écouté.
|
16 Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
|
17 C’est pourquoi ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR Dieu des armées, le Dieu d’Israël : Voici, je vais faire venir sur Juda et sur tous les habitants de Jérusalem tout le mal que j’ai prononcé contre eux, parce que je leur ai parlé, et ils n’ont pas entendu ; et je les ai appelés, mais ils n’ont pas répondu.

17 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
|
18 ¶ Et Jeremiah (Jérémie) dit à la maison des Rechabites : Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, le Dieu d’Israël : Parce que vous avez obéi au commandement de Jonadab, votre père, et avez gardé tous ses préceptes et fait selon tout ce qu’il vous a commandé ;

18 ¶ And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
|
19 C’est pourquoi, ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, le Dieu d’Israël : Jonadab, le fils de Rechab (Récab), ne manquera jamais d’homme qui se tienne devant moi.
|
19 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.
