 1 The sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

2 Et les fils de Kohath : Amram, Izhar, et Hebron et Uzziel.

 2 And the sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 Et les enfants d’Amram : Aaron, et Moïse et Miriam. Et les fils d’Aaron Nadab, et Abihu, Eleazar et Ithamar.

 3 And the children of Amram; Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. The sons also of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

4 ¶ Eleazar engendra Phinehas (Phinées) ; Phinehas (Phinées) engendra Abishua ;

 4 ¶ Eleazar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua,

5 Et Abishua engendra Bukki, et Bukki engendra Uzzi ;

 5 And Abishua begat Bukki, and Bukki begat Uzzi,

6 Et Uzzi engendra Zerahiah, et Zerahiah engendra Meraioth ;

 6 And Uzzi begat Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begat Meraioth,

7 Meraioth engendra Amariah, et Amariah engendra Ahitub ;

 7 Meraioth begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

8 Et Ahitub engendra Zadok (Tsadok) (Tsadok), et Zadok (Tsadok) engendra Ahimaaz (Achimaats) ;

 8 And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Ahimaaz,

9 Et Ahimaaz (Achimaats) engendra Azariah, et Azariah engendra Johanan ;

 9 And Ahimaaz begat Azariah, and Azariah begat Johanan,

10 Et Johanan engendra Azariah, (c’est lui qui exerça la fonction de prêtre dans le temple que Salomon bâtit à Jérusalem).

 10 And Johanan begat Azariah, (he it is that executed the priest’s office in the temple that Solomon built in Jerusalem:)

11 Et Azariah engendra Amariah, et Amariah engendra Ahitub ;

 11 And Azariah begat Amariah, and Amariah begat Ahitub,

12 Et Ahitub engendra Zadok (Tsadok), et Zadok (Tsadok) engendra Shallum ;

 12 And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,

13 Et Shallum engendra Hilkiah, et Hilkiah engendra Azariah ;

 13 And Shallum begat Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begat Azariah,

14 Et Azariah engendra Seraiah, et Seraiah engendra Jehozadak ;

 14 And Azariah begat Seraiah, and Seraiah begat Jehozadak,

15 Et Jehozadak alla en captivité, quand le SEIGNEUR transporta Judah (Juda) et Jérusalem par la main de Nebuchadnezzar (Nébucadnetsar).

 15 And Jehozadak went into captivity, when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16 ¶ Les fils de Levi (Lévi) : Gershom, Kohath (Kéhath) et Merari.

 16 ¶ The sons of Levi; Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 Et ce sont les noms des fils de Gershom : Libni et Shimei.

 17 And these be the names of the sons of Gershom; Libni, and Shimei.

18 Et les fils de Kohath (Kéhath) étaient Amram, et Izhar (Jitsehar), et Hebron et Uzziel.

 18 And the sons of Kohath were, Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Les fils de Merari : Mahli et Mushi. Et ce sont là les familles des Lévites, selon leurs pères.

 19 The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.

20 De Gershom : Libni, son fils ; Jahath, son fils ; Zimmah, son fils ;

 20 Of Gershom; Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 Joah, son fils ; Iddo, son fils ; Zerah, son fils ; Jeaterai, son fils.

 21 Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeaterai his son.

22 Les fils de Kohath (Kéhath) : Amminadab, son fils ; Korah(Kéhath), son fils ; Assir, son fils ;

 22 The sons of Kohath; Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

23 Elkanah, son fils, et Ebiasaph, son fils, et Assir son fils ;

 23 Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,

24 Tahath, son fils ; Uriel, son fils ; Uzziah, son fils, et Shaul, son fils.

 24 Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 Et les fils d’Elkanah : Amasai et Ahimoth ;

 25 And the sons of Elkanah; Amasai, and Ahimoth.

26 Quant à Elkanah, les fils d’Elkanah : Zophai (Tsophaï), son fils, et Nahath, son fils ;

 26 As for Elkanah: the sons of Elkanah; Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,

27 Eliab, son fils ; Jeroham, son fils ; Elkanah, son fils.

 27 Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.

28 Et les fils de Samuel le premier-né, Vashni, et Abiah (Abija).

 28 And the sons of Samuel; the firstborn Vashni, and Abiah.

29 Les fils de Merari Mahli ; Libni, son fils ; Shimei, son fils ; Uzza, son fils ;

 29 The sons of Merari; Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzza his son,

30 Shimea, son fils ; Haggiah, son fils ; Asaiah, son fils.

 30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 Et ce sont ici ceux que David établit pour l’office du chant de la maison du SEIGNEUR, après que l’arche demeura en repos.

 31 And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after that the ark had rest.

32 Et ils servaient devant la demeure du tabernacle de la congrégation le ministère du chant, jusqu’à ce que Salomon ait bâti la maison du SEIGNEUR à Jérusalem ; et ils faisaient leur service selon l’ordre établi.

 32 And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with singing, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office according to their order.

33 Voici ceux qui officiaient, avec leurs fils. Des fils des Kohathites (Kéhathites) : Heman, le chanteur, le fils de Joël, le fils de Shemuel (Samuel),

 33 And these are they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel,

34 Et le fils d’Elkanah, le fils de Jeroham, le fils d’Eliel, fils de Toah,

 34 The son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

35 Le fils de Zuph (Tsuph), le fils d’Elkanah, le fils de Mahath, le fils d’Amasai,

 35 The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

36 Le fils d’Elkanah, le fils de Joël, le fils d’Azariah, le fils de Zephaniah, (Sophonie)

 36 The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

37 Le fils de Tahath, le fils d’Assir, le fils d’Ebiasaph, le fils de Korah (Coré),

 37 The son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

38 Le fils de Izhar (Jitsehar), le fils de Kohath (Coré), le fils de Levi (Lévi), le fils d’Israël.

 38 The son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 Et son frère Asaph, qui se tenait à sa main droite, c’est-à-dire Asaph, le fils de Berachiah (Bérékia), le fils de Shimea,

 39 And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berachiah, the son of Shimea,

40 Le fils de Michael, le fils de Baaseiah, le fils de Malchiah (Malkija),

 40 The son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchiah,

41 Le fils d’Ethni, le fils de Zerah, le fils d’Adaiah,

 41 The son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

42 Le fils d’Ethan, le fils de Zimmah, le fils de Shimei,

 42 The son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

43 Le fils de Jahath, le fils de Gershom, le fils de Levi (Lévi).

 43 The son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

44 Et leurs frères, les fils de Merari, étaient à la main gauche Ethan, le fils de Kishi, le fils d’Abdi, le fils de Malluch,

 44 And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

45 Le fils de Hashabiah, le fils d’Amaziah (Amatsia), le fils de Hilkiah,

 45 The son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,

46 Le fils d’Amzi (Amtsi), le fils de Bani, le fils de Shamer,

 46 The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,

47 Le fils de Mahli, le fils de Mushi, le fils de Merari, le fils de Levi (Lévi).

 47 The son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Et leurs frères, les Lévites, étaient assignés sur tout le service du tabernacle de la maison de Dieu.

 48 Their brethren also the Levites were appointed unto all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 ¶ Mais Aaron et ses fils offraient sur l’autel des offrandes consumées et sur l’autel de l’encens, et étaient assignés à toute l’œuvre du lieu très-saint, et pour faire une expiation pour Israël, selon tout ce que Moïse, le serviteur de Dieu avait commandé.

 49 ¶ But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, and were appointed for all the work of the place most holy, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

50 Et ce sont ici les fils d’Aaron : Eleazar, son fils ; Phinehas, son fils ; Abishua, son fils ;

 50 And these are the sons of Aaron; Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51 Bukki, son fils ; Uzzi, son fils ; Zerahiah, son fils ;

 51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 Meraioth, son fils ; Amariah, son fils ; Ahitub, son fils ;

 52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

53 Zadok (Tsadok), son fils ; Ahimaaz, son fils.

 53 Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 ¶ Et ce sont ici leurs demeures, selon leurs châteaux, dans leurs confins, aux fils d’Aaron des familles des Kohathites ; car le lot fut pour eux,

 54 ¶ Now these are their dwelling places throughout their castles in their coasts, of the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites: for theirs was the lot.

55 Et on leur donna Hebron, dans le pays de Judah (Juda), et ses faubourgs tout autour.

 55 And they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs thereof round about it.

56 Mais, les champs dépendant de la ville et ses villages. on les donna à Caleb, le fils de Jephunneh (Jephunné).

 56 But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

57 Et aux fils d’Aaron on donna les villes de Judah (Juda) c’est-à-dire Hebron, la ville de refuge, et Libnah avec ses faubourgs, et Jattir, et Eshtemoa avec ses faubourgs,

 57 And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of Judah, namely, Hebron, the city of refuge, and Libnah with her suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa, with their suburbs,

58 Et Hilen avec ses faubourgs, Debir avec ses faubourgs,

 58 And Hilen with her suburbs, Debir with her suburbs,

59 Et Ashan avec ses faubourgs, Bethshemesh avec ses faubourgs ;

 59 And Ashan with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs:

60 Et de la tribu de Benjamin, Geba (Guéba) avec ses faubourgs, et Alemeth avec ses faubourgs, et Anathoth avec ses faubourgs. Toutes leurs villes étaient treize, selon leurs familles.

 60 And out of the tribe of Benjamin; Geba with her suburbs, and Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

61 Et aux fils de Kohath (Kéhath ) qui restaient de la famille de cette tribu, on donna par lot, dix villes, de la demi-tribu de Manasseh (Manassé).

 61 And unto the sons of Kohath, which were left of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.

62 Et aux fils de Gershom, selon leurs familles, on donna treize villes, de la tribu d’Issachar, et de la tribu d’Asher (Asser), et de la tribu de Naphtali (Nephtali), et de la tribu de Manasseh (Manassé), en Bashan.

 62 And to the sons of Gershom throughout their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 Et aux fils de Merari, selon leurs familles, on donna, par lot, douze villes, de la tribu de Reuben (Ruben), et de la tribu de Gad, et de la tribu de Zebulun (Zabulon).

 63 Unto the sons of Merari were given by lot, throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 Et les enfants d’Israël donnèrent aux Lévites ces villes avec leurs faubourgs.

 64 And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their suburbs.

65 Et ils donnèrent par lot, de la tribu des enfants de Judah (Juda), et de la tribu des enfants de Simeon, et de la tribu des enfants de Benjamin, ces villes qui sont appelées par leurs noms.

 65 And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities, which are called by their names.

66 Et le reste des familles des fils de Kohath (Kéhath) eurent les villes de leurs confins de la tribu d’Ephraim (Éphraïm).

 66 And the residue of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their coasts out of the tribe of Ephraim.

67 Et on leur donna des villes de refuge, Shechem (Sichem) avec ses faubourgs, au mont Ephraim (Éphraïm), on leur donna aussi Gezer avec ses faubourgs,

 67 And they gave unto them, of the cities of refuge, Shechem in mount Ephraim with her suburbs; they gave also Gezer with her suburbs,

68 Et Jokmeam avec ses faubourgs, et Bethhoron (Beth-Horon) avec ses faubourgs,

 68 And Jokmeam with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs,

69 Et Aijalon (Ajalon) avec ses faubourgs, et Gathrimmon (Gath-Rimmon ) avec ses faubourgs ;

 69 And Aijalon with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs:

70 Et de la demi-tribu de Manasseh (Manassé), Aner avec ses faubourgs, et Bileam avec ses faubourgs, à la famille qui restait des fils de Kohath (Kéhath).

 70 And out of the half tribe of Manasseh; Aner with her suburbs, and Bileam with her suburbs, for the family of the remnant of the sons of Kohath.

71 Aux fils de Gershom, on donna de la famille de la demi-tribu de Manasseh (Manassé), Golan en Bashan (Bassan) avec ses faubourgs, et Ashtaroth avec ses faubourgs ;

 71 Unto the sons of Gershom were given out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, and Ashtaroth with her suburbs:

72 De la tribu d’Issachar, Kedesh avec ses faubourgs, Daberath avec ses faubourgs,

 72 And out of the tribe of Issachar; Kedesh with her suburbs, Daberath with her suburbs,

73 Et Ramoth avec ses faubourgs, et Anem avec ses faubourgs ;

 73 And Ramoth with her suburbs, and Anem with her suburbs:

74 Et de la tribu d’Asher (Asser), Mashal avec ses faubourgs, et Abdon avec ses faubourgs,

 74 And out of the tribe of Asher; Mashal with her suburbs, and Abdon with her suburbs,

75 Et Hukok avec ses faubourgs, et Rehob avec ses faubourgs ;

 75 And Hukok with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs:

76 Et de la tribu de Naphtali (Nephtali), Kedesh en Galilée avec ses faubourgs, et Hammon avec ses faubourgs, et Kirjathaim avec ses faubourgs.

 76 And out of the tribe of Naphtali; Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, and Hammon with her suburbs, and Kirjathaim with her suburbs.

77 Aux enfants de Merari qui restaient, on donna, de la tribu de Zebulun (Zabulon), Rimmon avec ses faubourgs, et Tabor (Thabor) avec ses faubourgs ;

 77 Unto the rest of the children of Merari were given out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmon with her suburbs, Tabor with her suburbs:

78 Et de l’autre côté du Jourdain près de Jéricho, à l’est du Jourdain, on donna de la tribu de Reuben (Ruben), Bezer (Betser) au désert avec ses faubourgs, et Jahzah avec ses faubourgs,

 78 And on the other side Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of Jordan, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with her suburbs, and Jahzah with her suburbs,

79 Kedemoth aussi avec ses faubourgs, et Mephaath avec ses faubourgs ;

 79 Kedemoth also with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs:

80 Et de la tribu de Gad, Ramoth en Gilead (Galaad) avec ses faubourgs, Mahanaim avec ses faubourgs,

 80 And out of the tribe of Gad; Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

81 Et Heshbon (Hesbon) avec ses faubourgs, et Jazer avec ses faubourgs.

 81 And Heshbon with her suburbs, and Jazer with her suburbs.
