1 Ainsi ils amenèrent l’arche de Dieu, et la placèrent au milieu de la tente que David lui avait dressée ; et ils offrirent des offrandes consumées et des offrandes de paix devant Dieu.

 1 So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.

2 Et quand David eut achevé d’offrir les offrandes consumées et les offrandes de paix, il bénit le peuple au nom du SEIGNEUR.

 2 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.

3 Et il distribua à tout Israël, hommes et femmes, à chacun une miche de pain, et une belle portion de viande et un flacon de vin.

 3 And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

4 ¶ Et il nomma certains des Lévites pour faire le service devant l’arche du SEIGNEUR, pour conserver par écrit, et pour remercier et louer le SEIGNEUR, Dieu d’Israël,

 4 ¶ And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:

5 Asaph, le chef ; et Zechariah, le second après lui, Jeiel, et Shemiramoth, et Jehiel, et Mattithiah, et Eliab, et Benaiah, et Obededom, et Jeiel, avec des psaltérions, et des harpes ; et Asaph faisait retentir les cymbales.

 5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;

6 Benaiah aussi et Jahaziel, les prêtres, étaient continuellement avec des trompettes devant l’arche de l’alliance de Dieu.

 6 Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

7 ¶ Et en ce jour-là, David remit premièrement en la main d’Asaph et de ses frères, cePsaume , pou célébrer le SEIGNEUR

 7 ¶ Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

8 Remerciez le SEIGNEUR, invoquez son nom, faites connaître parmi les peuples ses actions.

 8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

9 Chantez-lui, chantez-lui desPsaume s, parlez de toutes ses œuvres merveilleuses.

 9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

10 Glorifiez-vous en son saint nom ; que le cœur de ceux qui cherchent le SEIGNEUR se réjouisse.

 10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.

11 Recherchez le SEIGNEUR et sa vigueur ; cherchez continuellement sa face.

 11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

12 Souvenez-vous de ses œuvres merveilleuses qu’il a faites, de ses prodiges, et des jugements de sa bouche,

 12 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

13 Ô vous, semence d’Israël, son serviteur, vous, enfants de Jacob, ceux qu’il a choisis.

 13 O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

14 Il est le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu ; ses jugements sont sur toute la terre.

 14 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.

15 Prêtez toujours attention à son alliance, à la parole qu’il commanda à un millier de générations ;

 15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

16 C’est-à-dire de l’alliance qu’il fit avec Abraham, et de son serment fait à Isaac,

 16 Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;

17 Et qu’il a confirmé à Jacob, pour être une loi, et à Israël, comme une alliance éternelle,

 17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

18 En disant : Je te donnerai le pays de Canaan ; le lot de votre héritage ;

 18 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;

19 Quand vous étiez peu nombreux et étrangers dans le pays,

 19 When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.

20 Et quand ils allaient de nation en nation et d’un royaume vers un autre peuple.

 20 And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

21 Il ne permit à personne de leur faire du tort ; oui, il reprit des rois à cause d’eux,

 21 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,

22 Disant Ne touchez pas à mes oints, et ne faites pas de mal à mes prophètes.

 22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

23 Chantez au SEIGNEUR toute la terre, racontez jour après jour son salut ;

 23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.

24 Déclarez sa gloire parmi les païens, ses œuvres merveilleuses parmi toutes les nations.

 24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.

25 Car grand est le SEIGNEUR, et très digne d’être loué ; il est plus à craindre plus que tous les dieux.

 25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

26 Car tous les dieux des peuples sont des idoles ; mais le SEIGNEUR a fait les cieux.

 26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

27 Gloire et honneur sont en sa présence ; vigueur et allégresse sont dans son lieu.

 27 Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.

28 Rendez au SEIGNEUR, vous, familles des peuples, rendez au SEIGNEUR gloire et vigueur.

 28 Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

29 Rendez au SEIGNEUR gloire due à son nom ; apportez une offrande, et venez devant lui ; adorez le SEIGNEUR dans la beauté de sa sainteté.

 29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

30 Craignez devant lui, vous, toute la terre ; aussi le monde sera stable, si bien qu’il ne sera pas ébranlé.

 30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

31 Que les cieux s’égayent, et que la terre se réjouisse ; et que les hommes disent parmi les nations : Le SEIGNEUR règne.

 31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

32 Que la mer et sa plénitude rugissent ; que les champs se réjouissent, avec tout ce qui est en eux.

 32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

33 Alors les arbres des forêts chanteront en la présence du SEIGNEUR, parce qu’il vient pour juger la terre.

 33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

34 Ô remerciez le SEIGNEUR, car il est bon, car sa miséricorde dure à toujours.

 34 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

35 Et dites Sauve-nous, ô Dieu de notre salut, et rassemble-nous, et délivre-nous d’entre les païens, afin que nous puissions remercier ton saint nom, et que nous nous glorifiions dans ta louange.

 35 And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

36 Béni soit le SEIGNEUR Dieu d’Israël, à toujours et toujours. Et tout le peuple dit : Amen, et loua le SEIGNEUR.

 36 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.

37 ¶ Puis il laissa là, devant l’arche de l’alliance du SEIGNEUR, Asaph et ses frères, pour faire continuellement le service, devant l’arche, selon ce qui était requis chaque jour ;

 37 ¶ So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:

38 Et Obededom avec leurs frères, soixante-huit ; et Obededom, le fils de Jeduthun, et Hosah, pour portiers ;

 38 And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:

39 Et Zadok (Tsadok), le prêtre, et ses frères les prêtres, devant le tabernacle du SEIGNEUR, au haut lieu qui était à Gibeon,

 39 And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at Gibeon,

40 Pour offrir des offrandes consumées au SEIGNEUR sur l’autel des offrandes consumées continuellement, matin et soir, et pour faire selon tout ce qui est écrit dans la loi du SEIGNEUR, qu’il commanda à Israël.

 40 To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;

41 Et avec eux Heman et Jeduthun, et le reste qui furent choisis, qui étaient désignés par nom, pour remercier le SEIGNEUR ; parce que sa miséricorde dure à toujours.

 41 And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever;

42 Et avec eux Heman et Jeduthun, avec trompettes et cymbales pour ceux qui les faisaient retentir, et  avec les instruments de musique de Dieu. Et les fils de Jeduthum étaient portiers.

 42 And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.

43 Et tout le peuple s’en alla, chacun dans sa maison, et David aussi s’en retourna pour bénir sa maison.

 43 And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.
