1 Ainsi tout l’ouvrage que Salomon fit pour la maison du SEIGNEUR fut achevé, et Salomon fit apporter toutes les choses que David, son père, avait dédiées : l’argent, l’or et tous les ustensiles ; il les mit dans les trésors de la maison de Dieu.

1 Thus all the work that Solomon made for the house of the LORD was finished: and Solomon brought in all the things that David his father had dedicated; and the silver, and the gold, and all the instruments, put he among the treasures of the house of God.
|
2 ¶ Puis Salomon assembla à Jérusalem les anciens d’Israël, et tous ceux à la tête des tribus, et les chefs des pères des enfants d’Israël, pour monter l’arche de l’alliance du SEIGNEUR, de la ville de David, qui est Zion (Sion).
|
2 ¶ Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.
|
3 C’est pourquoi tous les hommes d’Israël se rassemblèrent vers le roi pour la fête qui était le septième mois.
|
3 Wherefore all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.
|
4 Et tous les anciens d’Israël vinrent, et les Lévites portèrent l’arche.
|
4 And all the elders of Israel came; and the Levites took up the ark.
|
5 Et ils montèrent l’arche, et le tabernacle de la congrégation, et tous les saints ustensiles qui étaient dans le tabernacle ; les prêtres et les Lévites les montèrent.
|
5 And they brought up the ark, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, these did the priests and the Levites bring up.
|
6 Et le roi Salomon et toute la congrégation d’Israël qui s’était rassemblée vers lui devant l’arche, sacrifiaient moutons et bœufs, qu’on ne pouvait ni raconter ni compter telle multitude.
|
6 Also king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled unto him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
|
7 Et les prêtres portèrent l’arche de l’alliance du SEIGNEUR en son lieu, dans l’oracle de la maison, dans le lieu très saint, c’est-à-dire sous les ailes des chérubins.
|
7 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, to the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims:
|
8 Car les chérubins étendaient leurs ailes sur le lieu où devait être l’arche ; et les chérubins couvraient l’arche et ses barres par-dessus.
|
8 For the cherubims spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
|
9 Et ils retirèrent les barres de l’arche, de sorte que les bouts des barres se voyaient hors de l’arche sur le devant de l’oracle, mais elles ne se voyaient pas du dehors. Et c’est là jusqu’à ce jour.
|
9 And they drew out the staves of the ark, that the ends of the staves were seen from the ark before the oracle; but they were not seen without. And there it is unto this day.
|
10 Il n’y avait rien dans l’arche que les deux tables que Moïse y avait mises en Horeb, quand le SEIGNEUR fit une alliance avec les enfants d’Israël, quand ils sortirent d’Égypte.
|
10 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.
|
11 ¶ Or il arriva que, comme les prêtres sortaient du lieu saint (car tous les prêtres qui étaient présents s’étaient sanctifiés, et n’avaient pas alors observé l’ordre des classes ;
|
11 ¶ And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course:
|
12 Et tous les Lévites qui étaient chanteurs, tous ceux d’Asaph, d’Heman, de Jeduthun, avec leurs fils et leurs frères, vêtus de fin lin, avec des cymbales, des psaltérions et des harpes, se tenaient au extrémité est de l’autel ; et avec eux cent vingt prêtres sonnant des trompettes),

12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)

13 Et il arriva, comme les trompettes et les chanteurs furent comme un seul homme, pour faire entendre à l’unisson, louant et remerciant le SEIGNEUR, et qu’ils élevèrent leur voix avec les trompettes, et les cymbales et autres instruments de musique, et qu’ils louèrent le SEIGNEUR, en disant : Car il est bon, car sa miséricorde demeure pour toujours ; qu’alors la maison du SEIGNEUR fut remplie d’un nuage, dis-je la maison du SEIGNEUR ;

13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

14 En sorte que les prêtres ne purent s’y tenir pour faire le service, à cause du nuage ; car la gloire du SEIGNEUR avait rempli la maison de Dieu.
|
14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
