1 Car j’aimerais que vous sachiez quel grand conflit j’ai à votre sujet, et pour ceux à Laodicée, et pour beaucoup qui n’ont pas vu mon visage en la chair;

 1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

2 Afin que leurs cœurs puissent être réconfortés, étant noués ensemble dans l’amour, et vers toute la richesse de la pleine assurance de compréhension, à la reconnaissance du mystère de Dieu, et du Père, et de Christ;

 2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

3 En qui sont cachés tous les trésors de sagesse et de connaissance.

 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

4 Et je dis ceci, pour qu’aucun homme ne vous dupe par des paroles séduisantes.

 4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

5 Car bien que je sois absent quant à la chair, cependant je suis avec vous quant à l’esprit, me réjouissant et regardant votre ordre et la fermeté de votre foi en Christ.

 5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

6 Comme vous avez donc reçu Christ Jésus le Seigneur, ainsi marchez en lui:

 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

7 Enracinés et édifiés en lui, et établis dans la foi, comme vous avez été enseignés, abondant en elle avec remerciement.

 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

8 Prenez garde qu’aucun homme ne vous spolie au moyen de la philosophie, et une vaine tromperie, d’après la tradition des hommes, d’après les rudiments du monde, et non d’après Christ.

 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9 Car en lui demeure toute la plénitude de la Déité corporellement.

 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 Et vous êtes accomplis en lui, lequel est la tête de toute principauté et pouvoir:

 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 En qui aussi vous êtes circoncis, d’une circoncision faite sans mains, en retirant du corps les péchés de la chair par la circoncision de Christ:

 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

12 Ensevelis avec lui dans le baptême, dans lequel aussi vous êtes ressuscités avec lui par le moyen de la foi de l’opération de Dieu, qui l’a ressuscité d’entre les morts.

 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13 Et vous, étant morts dans vos péchés et dans l’incirconcision de votre chair, il vous a vivifiés ensemble avec lui, vous ayant pardonné toutes vos infractions;

 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

14 Effaçant l’écriture des ordonnances qui était contre nous, laquelle nous était contraire, et il l’a retirée en la clouant à sa croix;

 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 Et ayant spolié les principautés et les pouvoirs, il les a montrés ouvertement, en triomphant d’eux sur celle-ci.

 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

16 Qu’aucun homme donc ne vous juge sur le manger, ou le boire, ou à l’égard d’un jour de fête, ou de la nouvelle lune, ou des jours de sabbat:

 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Lesquels sont une ombre des choses à venir; mais le corps est de Christ.

 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

18 Qu’aucun homme ne vous dupe quant à votre récompense par une humilité spontanée et par l’adoration des anges, s’ingérant dans ces choses qu’il n’a pas vues, vainement enflé d’orgueil par son cerveau charnel,

 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

19 Et ne tenant pas la Tête, de laquelle tout le corps étant alimenté et noué ensemble par des jointures et des liens, s’accroît de l’accroissement de Dieu.

 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

20 C’est pourquoi si vous êtes morts avec Christ aux rudiments du monde, pourquoi, bien que vivant dans le monde êtes-vous assujettis aux ordonnances,

 20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

21 (Ne touche pas; ne goûte pas; ne manie pas;

 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;

22 Lesquelles tendent toutes à périr par l’usage); suivant les commandements et les doctrines des hommes?

 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

23 Lesquelles choses ont en effet une apparence de sagesse en une adoration volontaire, et en humilité, et en négligeant le corps; ce qui n’est d’aucun honneur pour la satisfaction de la chair.

 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
