1 Quelqu’un d’entre vous oserait-il ayant un litige avec un autre, aller en procès devant les injustes, et non devant les saints?

 1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

2 Ne savez-vous pas que les saints jugeront le monde? et si le monde doit être jugé par vous, êtes-vous indignes de juger les plus petits sujets?

 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons les anges? Combien plus les choses qui appartiennent à cette vie?

 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

4 Si alors vous avez des jugements pour les choses appartenant à cette vie, employez-les pour juger ceux qui sont le moins estimés dans l’église.

 4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

5 Je m’adresse à votre honte. En est-il ainsi, qu’il n’y a pas un homme sage parmi vous? non, pas un qui soit capable de juger entre ses frères?

 5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

6 Mais un frère fait procès à un frère et cela devant les incroyants.

 6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

7 Maintenant donc il y a absolument une faute parmi vous, parce que vous faites procès l’un contre l’autre. Pourquoi n’acceptez-vous pas plutôt être en tort? pourquoi ne supportez-vous pas plutôt d’être escroqués?

 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

8 Non, vous faites du tort et escroquez, et cela envers vos frères.

 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

9 Ne savez-vous pas que les iniques n’hériteront pas le royaume de Dieu? Ne soyez pas trompés: ni fornicateurs, ni idolâtres, ni adultères, ni efféminés, ni ceux qui abusent d’eux-mêmes avec le genre humain,

 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Ni voleurs, ni convoiteux, ni ivrognes, ni injurieux, ni extorqueurs n’hériteront le royaume de Dieu.

 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

11 Et tels étaient quelques-uns d’entre vous: mais vous êtes nettoyés, mais vous êtes sanctifiés, mais vous êtes justifiés dans le nom du Seigneur Jésus, et par l’Esprit de notre Dieu.

 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

12 Toutes choses me sont permises, mais toutes choses ne sont pas opportunes: toutes choses me sont permises, mais je ne serai astreint sous le pouvoir d’aucune.

 12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

13 Les aliments pour le ventre, et le ventre pour les aliments: mais Dieu détruira autant lui qu’eux. Or le corps n’est pas pour la fornication, mais pour le Seigneur; et le Seigneur pour le corps.

 13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

14 Et Dieu a ressuscité le Seigneur, et il nous ressuscitera aussi par son propre pouvoir.

 14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

15 Ne savez-vous pas que vos corps sont les membres de Christ? prendrai-je alors les membres de Christ et en ferai-je les membres d’une prostituée? Dieu nous en garde.

 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 Quoi? Ne savez-vous pas que celui qui est joint à une prostituée n’est qu’un seul corps? car les deux, dit-il, seront une seule chair.

 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 Mais celui qui est joint au Seigneur n’est qu’un seul esprit.

 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Fuyez la fornication. Chaque péché qu’un homme fait, c’est hors du corps; mais celui qui commet fornication, pèche contre son propre corps.

 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 Quoi? Ne savez-vous pas que votre corps est le temple de l’Esprit Saint lequel est en vous, lequel vous avez de Dieu, et vous ne vous appartenez pas?

 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 Car vous êtes achetés à un prix: par conséquent glorifiez Dieu dans votre corps, et dans votre esprit, qui appartiennent à Dieu.

 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
