1 Ceux-ci sont les commandements, les statuts et les jugements que le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu a commandé de vous enseigner, afin que vous les fassiez, dans la terre par où vous allez passer pour la posséder ;

 1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

2 Afin que tu puisses craindre le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, pour garder tous ses statuts et ses commandements que je te commande, toi, ton fils, et le fils de ton fils, tous les jours de ta vie, et afin que tes jours puissent être prolongés.

 2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

3 ¶ Écoute donc, ô Israël, et prends garde de le faire, afin que tout aille bien pour toi, et que vous puissiez multiplier puissamment comme le SEIGNEUR, le Dieu de tes pères, te l’a promis dans la terre qui ruisselle de lait et de miel,.

 3 ¶ Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4 Entends, ô Israël ; le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu est le seul SEIGNEUR.

 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5 Et tu aimeras le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur, et de toute ton âme, et de tout ton pouvoir.

 5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 Et ces paroles que je te commande aujourd’hui seront dans ton cœur ;

 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 Et tu les enseigneras soigneusement à tes enfants, et tu en parleras quand tu seras assis dans ta maison, quand tu marcheras en chemin, et quand tu te coucheras, et quand tu te lèveras ;

 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 Et tu les lieras pour être un signe sur ta main, et elles seront comme des fronteaux entre tes yeux ;

 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9 Et tu les écriras sur les poteaux de ta maison, et sur tes portes.

 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

10 Et il arrivera, quand le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu t’aura fait entrer dans la terre qu’il a juré à tes pères, à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, de te donner, de grandes et bonnes villes que tu n’as pas bâties ;

 10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

11 Dans des maisons pleines de toutes bonnes choses, que tu n’as pas remplies, et des puits creusés, que tu n’as pas creusés ; des vignes et des oliviers, que tu n’as pas plantés ; et tu mangeras, et tu seras rassasié ;

 11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

12 Alors prends garde, de peur que tu n’oublies le SEIGNEUR, qui t’a fait sortir hors du pays d’Égypte, de la maison de servitude.

 12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13 Tu craindras le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, et tu le serviras, et tu jureras par son nom.

 13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

14 Vous n’irez pas après d’autres dieux, d’entre les dieux des peuples qui seront autour de vous,

 14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

15 (Car le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu est un Dieu jaloux parmi vous), de peur que le courroux du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu ne s’enflamme contre toi, et ne te détruise de la surface de la terre.

 15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

16 ¶ Vous ne tenterez pas le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, comme vous l’avez tenté à Massah.

 16 ¶ Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

17 Vous garderez soigneusement les commandements du SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, et ses témoignages et ses statuts qu’il t’a commandés.

 17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

18 Et tu feras ce qui est droit et bon aux yeux du SEIGNEUR, afin que tout aille bien pour toi, et que tu puisses entrer et posséder la bonne terre que le SEIGNEUR a juré à tes pères,

18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,

19 En chassant tous tes ennemis de devant toi, comme le SEIGNEUR l’a dit.

 19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

20 Et quand ton fils t’interrogera à l’avenir, disant : Que veulent dire les témoignages, et les statuts et les jugements que le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu vous a commandés ?

 20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?

21 Alors tu diras à ton fils : Nous étions en servitude chez Pharaon en Égypte, et le SEIGNEUR nous a sortis d’Égypte par une puissante main ;

 21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

22 Et le SEIGNEUR a montré devant nos yeux, par des signes et des prodiges, grands et gravrd, sur l’Égypte, sur Pharaon et sur toute sa maison ;

 22 And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

23 Et il nous a sortis de là, afin qu’il puisse nous amener au pays qu’il avait juré à nos pères de nous donner.

 23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

24 Et le SEIGNEUR nous a commandé de faire tous ces statuts, de craindre toujours le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu, pour notre bien, afin qu’il puisse nous conserver en vie, comme il paraît aujourd’hui.

 24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

25 Et ce sera notre rectitude, si nous faisons attention de faire tous ces commandements devant le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu, comme il nous l’a commandé.

 25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
