1 Vous êtes les enfants du SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, vous ne vous ferez pas d’incision, et vous ne vous raserez pas entre les yeux pour un mort ;

 1 Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.

2 Car tu es un peuple saint au SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, et le SEIGNEUR t’a choisi pour lui être un peuple à part, les nations qui sont sur la terre.

 2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

3 ¶ Tu ne mangeras aucune chose abominable.

 3 ¶ Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

4 Ce sont ici les bêtes que vous mangerez : le bœuf, le mouton et la chèvre,

 4 These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,

5 Le cerf, et le chevreuil, et le daim, et le bouquetin, et l’antilope, et le bœuf sauvage, et le chamois.

 5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.

6 Et toute bête qui a le sabot divisé et a la fente des ongles fendue en deux, et qui rumine, parmi toutes les bêtes vous la mangerez.

 6 And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.

7 Néanmoins vous ne mangerez pas de celles qui ruminent, ou de celles qui ont la corne divisée : comme le chameau, le lièvre et le daman ; car ils ruminent, mais ils n’ont pas la corne divisée ; c’est pourquoi ils vous seront souillés ;

 7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.

8 Ainsi que le porc, car il a le sabot divisé, cependant il ne rumine pas : il vous est souillé ; vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair ; et vous ne toucherez pas leur carcasse.

 8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

9 ¶ Ceux-ci vous mangerez de tout ce qui est dans les eaux : vous mangerez tout ce qui a des nageoires et des écailles ;

 9 ¶ These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:

10 Mais tout ce qui n’a pas de nageoires ni d’écailles, vous ne le mangerez pas ; cela vous est souillé.

 10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

11 ¶ Vous mangerez tout oiseau net.

 11 ¶ Of all clean birds ye shall eat.

12 Mais ceux-ci sont ceux dont vous ne mangerez pas : l’aigle, l’aigle de mer, et l’orfraie,

 12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

13 Et le busard, et le milan, et le vautour, selon son espèce ;

 13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,

14 Et tout corbeau, selon son espèce ;

 14 And every raven after his kind,

15 Et le hibou, et l’épervier de nuit, et le coucou, et l’épervier, selon son espèce ;

 15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

16 Et la chouette, et le grand hibou, et le cygne,

 16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,

17 Et le pélican, et le faucon, et le cormoran,

 17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,

18 La cigogne et le héron, selon son espèce ; la huppe et la chauve-souris.

 18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

19 Et toute chose rampante qui vole vous est souillée ; on n’en mangera pas.

 19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.

20 Mais vous pourrez manger de tout oiseau net.

 20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat.

21 ¶ Vous ne mangerez d’aucune chair morte d’elle-même, ; tu la donneras à un étranger qui est dans tes portes, et il la mangera, ou on la vendra à un non citoyen ; car tu es un peuple saint au SEIGNEUR ton Dieu. Tu ne bouilleras pas le chevreau dans le lait de sa mère.

 21 ¶ Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.

22 Tu ne manqueras pas de donner la dîme de tout le rapport de ta semence, que ton champ produira chaque année.

 22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

23 Et tu mangeras, devant le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, au lieu qu’il aura choisi pour y placer son nom, la dîme de ton grain, de ton vin, et de ton huile, et les premiers-nés de tes troupeaux de bœufs et de brebis, afin que tu puisses apprendre à craindre le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu à toujours.

 23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

24 Et si le chemin est trop long pour toi, en sorte que tu ne puisses les porter, ou si le lieu que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu aura choisi pour y placer son nom est trop loin de toi, lorsque le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu t’aura béni,

 24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:

25 Alors tu l’échangeras pour de l’argent, et tu serreras l’argent en ta main ; tu iras au lieu que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu aura choisi,

 25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:

26 Et tu dispenseras l’argent pour tout ce que ton âme désirera, des bœufs, des moutons, du vin ou des boissons fortes, ou pour tout ce que ton âme désirera ; et tu le mangeras là, devant le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, et tu te réjouiras, toi et ta famille.

 26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

27 Et tu n’abandonneras pas le Lévite qui est dans tes portes, parce qu’il n’a pas de portion ni d’héritage avec toi.

 27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

28 ¶ Au bout de trois ans, tu apporteras toute la dîme de ton rapport de cette année-là, et tu la déposeras dans tes portes.

 28 ¶ At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

29 Et le Levite, (qui n’a pas de portion ni d’héritage avec toi), et l’étranger, et l’orphelin et la veuve, qui sont dans tes portes, viendront et mangeront, et seront rassasiés ; afin que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te bénisse dans tout l’ouvrage de ta main que tu feras.

 29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
