1 Et il arrivera que lorsque toutes ces choses, seront venues sur toi, la bénédiction, la malédiction, que j’ai mis devant toi et lorsque tu les rappelleras à ta pensée, parmi toutes les nations où le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu t’aura conduit ;

 1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,

2 Et que tu retourneras au SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, et que tu obéiras à sa voix, selon tout ce que je te commande ce jour, toi et tes enfants, de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme,

 2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

3 Qu’alors le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu ramènera tes captifs et aura compassion de toi, et il retournera pour te rassembler d’entre toutes les nations parmi lesquelles le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu t’avait dispersé.

 3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

4 Si l’un des tiens était chassé aux parties les plus éloignées du ciel, de là le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te rassemblera, et de là il te cherchera.

 4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

5 Et le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te ramènera dans la terre que possédaient tes pères, et tu la posséderas ; et il te fera du bien, et te multipliera plus que tes pères.

 5 And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

6 Et le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu circoncira ton cœur, et le cœur de ta semence, afin que tu aimes le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme, afin que tu puisses vivre.

 6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

7 Et le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu mettra toutes ces malédictions sur tes ennemis, et sur ceux qui te haïssent, qui t’ont persécuté.

 7 And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

8 Et tu retourneras, et tu obéiras à la voix du SEIGNEUR, et tu feras tous ses commandements lesquels je te commande ce jour.

 8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9 Et le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te fera abonder dans toute l’œuvre de ta main, dans le fruit de ton corps, et dans le fruit de ton bétail et dans le fruit de ta terre, pour de bon ; car le SEIGNEUR se réjouira de nouveau sur toi pour de bon, comme il s’est réjoui sur tes pères,

 9 And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

10 Si tu écoutes la voix du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, pour garder ses commandements et ses statuts qui sont écrits dans ce livre de la loi, et si tu te tournes vers le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu de tout ton cœur et de toute ton âme.

 10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

11 ¶ Car ce commandement que je te commande ce jour n’est pas caché de toi, et n’est pas loin non plus.

 11 ¶ For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

12 Il n’est pas dans le ciel, pour que tu dises : Qui montera pour nous au ciel, et nous l’apportera, pour que nous puissions l’entendre, et que nous le fassions ?

 12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

13 Il n’est pas non plus au-delà de la mer, pour que tu dises : Qui passera au-delà de la mer pour nous, et nous l’apportera, afin que nous puissions l’entendre, et que nous le fassions ?

 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?

14 Mais la parole est très près de toi, dans ta bouche et dans ton cœur, pour que tu puisses la faire.

 14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15 ¶ Regarde, j’ai mis aujourd’hui devant toi la vie et le bien, la mort et le mal.

 15 ¶ See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 En ce que je te commande aujourd’hui d’aimer le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, de marcher dans ses chemins, et de garder ses commandements, et ses statuts et ses jugements, afin que tu puisses vivre, et te multiplier, et le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te bénira dans la terre où tu vas pour la posséder.

 16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 Mais si ton cœur se détourne, de façon à ce que tu ne veuilles pas entendre, et que tu te laisses entraîner à adorer d’autres dieux et à les servir,

 17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 Je vous annonce aujourd’hui que vous périrez certainement, et que vous ne prolongerez pas vos jours sur la terre où tu vas passer le Jourdain, pour la posséder.

 18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19 J’appelle ciel et terre aujourd’hui à témoin contre vous, que j’ai placé devant toi la vie et la mort, la bénédiction et la malédiction ; choisis donc la vie, afin que toi et ta semence puisse vivre,

 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 Que tu puisses aimer le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, et que tu puisses obéir à sa voix, et que tu puisses t’attacher à lui ; car il est ta vie et la longueur de tes jours ; afin que tu puisses demeurer sur la terre que le SEIGNEUR a juré à tes pères, à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob, de leur donner.

 20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
