1 Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Toutefois je ferai venir un fléau de plus sur Pharaon et sur l’Égypte ; après cela, il vous laissera aller d’ici ; quand il vous laissera aller, c’est certain, il vous poussera entièrement d’ici.

1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
|
2 Parle donc aux oreilles du peuple, et que chaque homme emprunte à son voisin et chaque femme à sa voisine, des joyaux d’argent et des joyaux d’or.
|
2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
|
3 Et le SEIGNEUR fit que le peuple trouva faveur aux yeux des Égyptiens. De plus Moïse était un très grand personnage dans le pays d’Égypte, aux yeux des serviteurs de Pharaon et aux yeux du peuple.
|
3 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
|
4 Et Moïse dit : Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : Vers minuit, je sortirai au milieu de l’Égypte.
|
4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:
|
5 Et tout premier-né dans le pays d’Égypte mourra, depuis le premier-né de Pharaon, qui est assis sur son trône, jusqu’à même le premier-né de la servante qui est derrière la meule et tout premier-né des bêtes.
|
5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
|
6 Et il y aura un grand cri à travers tout le pays d’Égypte, tel qu’il n’y en a jamais eu de semblable et qu’il n’y en aura plus.
|
6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
|
7 Mais contre tous les enfants d’Israël, pas même un chien ne remuera sa langue, depuis l’homme jusqu’aux bêtes ; afin que vous puissiez savoir que le SEIGNEUR aura mis une différence entre les Égyptiens et Israël.
|
7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
|
8 Et tous ceux-ci tes serviteurs descendront vers moi et se courberont devant moi, disant : Sors, toi et tout le peuple qui te suit ; et après cela, je sortirai. Et il sortit de chez Pharaon dans un grand courroux.
|
8 And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.
|
9 Et le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Pharaon ne vous écoutera pas, afin que mes prodiges puissent se multiplier dans le pays d’Égypte.
|
9 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.
|
10 Et Moïse et Aaron firent tous ces prodiges devant Pharaon ; et le SEIGNEUR endurcit le cœur de Pharaon, si bien qu’il ne laissa pas aller les enfants d’Israël hors de son pays.
|
10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
