1 En outre la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à moi, disant :

 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Aussi, toi, fils d’homme, ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU à la terre d'Israël ; Une fin, la fin est venue sur les quatre coins du pays.

 2 Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land.

3 Maintenant la fin vient sur toi, et je vais envoyer ma colère sur toi, et vais te juger selon tes conduites, et vais te punir pour toutes tes abominations.

 3 Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.

4 Et mon œil ne t'épargnera pas, ni ne vais-je avoir pitié : mais je vais te punir pour tes conduites, et tes abominations seront au milieu de toi : et vous saurez que je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 4 And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

5 Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU: Un mal, un seul mal, voici, est venu.

 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.

6 Une fin est venue, la fin est venue : elle te surveille ; voici, elle est venue.

 6 An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.

7 Le matin est venu vers toi, ô toi qui demeures dans le pays : le moment est venu, le jour de trouble est proche, et non plus la résonance des montagnes.

 7 The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.

8 Maintenant je vais bientôt répandre ma fureur sur toi, et 'accomplir ma colère sur toi : et je vais te juger selon tes conduites, et je te punirai pour toutes tes abominations.

 8 Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.

9 Mon œil ne t'épargnera pas, et je n'aurai pas non plus pitié : je te rétribuerai selon tes conduites et tes abominations qui sont au milieu de toi ; et vous saurez que je suis le SEIGNEUR, qui frappe.

 9 And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.

10 Voici le jour, voici, il est venu: le matin est parvenu ; le bâton a fleuri, l'orgueil a bourgeonné.

 10 Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.

11 La violence s'élève en un bâton d’immoralité ; aucun d'eux ne subsistera. ni de leur multitude, ni aucun de leurs biens : il n'y aura pas non plus de gémissement pour eux.

 11 Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them.

12 Le temps est venu, le jour approche : que l'acheteur ne se réjouisse pas, ni que le vendeur mène le deuil: car la courroux est sur toute sa multitude.

 12 The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

13 Car le vendeur ne retournera pas à ce qui est vendu, quand bien même ils seraient encore en vie : car la vision s'adresse à toute la multitude du pays, qui ne retournera pas ; et aucun non plus ne se fortifiera par l'iniquité de sa vie.

 13 For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.

14 Ils ont sonné la trompette, et tout est prêt ; mais personne ne va à la bataille, car mon courroux est sur toute la multitude.

 14 They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

15 L'épée est au-dehors, et la pestilence et la famine au-dedans : celui qui est dans le champs mourra par l'épée ; et celui qui est dans la ville, la famine et la pestilence le dévoreront.

 15 The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

16 ¶ Mais ceux qui s'échapperont d'eux s'échapperont , et seront sur les montagnes comme les colombes des vallées, tous en deuil, chacun pour son iniquité.

 16 ¶ But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.

17 Toutes les mains seront faibles, et tous les genoux seront mous comme l'eau.

 17 All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.

18 Ils se ceindront aussi de toile de bure, et l'horreur les couvriront ; et la honte sera sur tous les visages, et la calvitie sur toutes leurs têtes.

 18 They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

19 Ils jetteront leur argent dans les rues, et leur or sera retiré : leur argent et leur or ne seront pas capables de les délivrer au jour du courroux du SEIGNEUR: ils ne rassasieront pas leur âme, ni ne rempliront leurs entrailles : car c'est la pierre d'achoppement de leur iniquité.

 19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

20 ¶ Quant à la beauté de son ornement, il l'a placé en majesté : mais ils ont fait des images de leurs abominations, et de leurs détestables choses : par conséquent l'ai-je placé loin d'eux.

 20 ¶ As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.

21 Et je la donnerai en proie aux mains des étrangers, et pour butin aux méchants de la terre, et ils la profaneront.

 21 And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

22 Et je détournerai aussi ma face d'eux, et ils profaneront mon lieu secret ; car les voleurs y entreront et le souilleront.

 22 My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.

23 ¶ Fais une chaîne : car la terre est pleine de crimes de sang, et la ville est pleine de violence.

 23 ¶ Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.

24 C'est pourquoi je ferai venir les pires des païens, et ils posséderont leurs maisons ; je mettrai aussi un terme à la pompe des puissants, et leurs saints lieux seront souillés.

 24 Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.

25 La destruction vient ; ils chercheront la paix, et il n'y en aura aucune.

 25 Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

26 Malheur viendra sur malheur ; et il y aura rumeur sur rumeur ; puis ils demanderont la vision au prophète ; mais la loi périra chez le prêtre, et le conseil chez les anciens.

 26 Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour; then shall they seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.

27 Le roi mènera deuil, et le prince sera revêtu de désolation, et les mains du peuple du pays seront troublées: Je leur ferai d’après leur conduite, et je les jugerai comme ils le méritent ; et ils sauront que je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 27 The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
