1 Puis je regardai, et voici, dans le firmament qui était sur la tête des chérubins, parut au-dessus d'eux comme une pierre de saphir, comme l'aspect d'un trône.

 1 Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubims there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

2 Et il parla à l'homme vêtu de lin, et lui dit : Va entre les roues, c'est-à-dire au-dessous du chérubin, et remplis ta main de charbons de feu que tu prendras d'entre les chérubins, et disperse-les sur la ville. Et il y alla devant mes yeux.

 2 And he spake unto the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims, and scatter them over the city. And he went in in my sight.

3 Or les chérubins se tenaient à droite de la maison quand l'homme alla, et le nuage remplit la cour intérieure.

 3 Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.

4 Alors la gloire du SEIGNEUR s'éleva de dessus le chérubin, et se tenait au-dessus du seuil de la maison ; et la maison fut remplie du nuage, et la cour était remplie de la splendeur de la gloire du SEIGNEUR.

 4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’S glory.

5 Et le bruit des ailes des chérubins se fit entendre jusqu'à la cour extérieure, comme la voix du Dieu Tout-Puissant, quand il parle.

 5 And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.

6 Et il arriva que, quand il eut commandé à l'homme vêtu de lin, disant : Prends du feu d'entre les roues, d'entre les chérubins, puis il entra, et se tint près des roues.

 6 And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.

7 Et un des chérubins étendit sa main, d'entre les chérubins, vers le feu qui était entre les chérubins, et il en prit et le mit dans les mains de celui qui était vêtu de lin, qui le prit et s'en alla.

 7 And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.

8 ¶ Et il apparaissait dans les chérubins la forme d'une main d'homme sous leurs ailes.

 8 ¶ And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man’s hand under their wings.

9 Et quand je regardai, voici quatre roues près des chérubins, une roue près d'un chérubin ; et une autre roue près d'un autre chérubin ; et l'aspect des roues était comme la couleur d'une pierre de béryl.

 9 And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.

10 Et quant à leur aspect, les quatre avaient une seule ressemblance, comme si une roue était au milieu d'une roue.

 10 And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.

11 Quand elles marchaient, elles allaient sur leurs quatre côtés ; elles ne se tournaient pas en allant ; mais vers le lieu vers lequel la tête regardait, elles la suivaient, elles ne se tournaient pas en allant.

 11 When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.

12 Et leur corps entier, et leur dos, et leurs mains, et leurs ailes, ainsi que les roues, étaient pleines d'yeux tout autour, à savoir les roues que chacune des quatre avait.

 12 And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had.

13 Quant aux roues on leur cria, moi l'entendant : Ô roue.

 13 As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.

14 Et chacune avait quatre faces : la première face était la face d'un chérubin ; la seconde face était la face d'un homme ; la troisième face la face d'un lion ; et la quatrième, la face d'un aigle.

 14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

15 Et les chérubins s'élevèrent ; c'était là la créature vivante que j'avais vue près du fleuve de Chebar (Kébar).

 15 And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar.

16 Et quand les chérubins allaient, les roues allaient à côté d'eux ; et quand les chérubins élevaient leurs ailes pour s'envoler de terre, les roues ne se détournaient pas d‘à côté d'eux.

 16 And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.

17 Quand ils s’arrêtaient, celles-ci s’arrêtaient ; quand ils s’élevaient, celles-ci s’élevaient avec eux ; car l’esprit de la créature vivante était en elles.

 17 When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

18 Alors la gloire du SEIGNEUR se retira du seuil de la maison, et se tint sur les chérubins.

 18 Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.

19 Et les chérubins élevèrent leurs ailes, et s’envolèrent de terre à ma vue, quand ils partirent, les roues aussi étaient près d’eux, et chacune se tint à l'entrée de la porte Est de la maison du SEIGNEUR, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était au-dessus d’eux, en haut.

 19 And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD’S house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

20 C’est là la créature vivante que j'avais vue sous le Dieu d'Israël, près du fleuve du Chebar (Kébar), et je savais que c'étaient des chérubins.

 20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims.

21 Chacun avait quatre faces, et chacun quatre ailes, et il y avait la ressemblance des mains d'homme sous leurs ailes.

 21 Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.

22 Et la ressemblance de leurs faces était les mêmes faces que j'avais vues près du fleuve de Chebar (Kébar)  leur aspect, et elles-mêmes ; ils allaient chacun droit devant soi.

 22 And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.
