1 Puis l'Esprit m'éleva et me mena à la porte Est de la maison du SEIGNEUR, qui regarde vers l'Est ; et voici, à l'entrée de la porte vingt-cinq hommes ; parmi lesquels je vis Jaazaniah le fils d'Azur (Azzur), et Pelatiah (Pélatia) le fils de Benaiah (Bénaja), princes du peuple.

 1 Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD’S house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

2 Et le SEIGNEUR me dit : Fils de l’homme, ce sont là les hommes qui méditent l'iniquité, et qui donnent de mauvais conseils dans cette ville.

 2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:

3 Qui disent : Ce n'est pas proche ; qu'on bâtisse des maisons ; cette ville est le chaudron, et nous sommes la chair.

 3 Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.

4 ¶ C'est pourquoi prophétise contre eux, prophétise, ô Fils de l’homme.

 4 ¶ Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

5 Et l'Esprit du SEIGNEUR tomba sur moi, et me dit : Parle ; ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : Vous avez ainsi dit, ô maison d'Israël, car je connais les choses qui viennent à votre pensée, chacune d'elles.

 5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.

6 Vous avez multiplié vos tués dans cette ville, et vous avez rempli ses rues de tués.

 6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

7 C'est pourquoi, ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU : Vos tués que vous avez étendus au milieu d'elle, sont la chair, et cette ville est le chaudron ; mais je vous ferai sortir de son sein.

 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.

8 Vous avez eu peur de l'épée, mais je ferai venir sur vous l'épée, dit le Seigneur DIEU.

 8 Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD.

9 Et je vous ferai sortir de son sein et je vous livrerai entre les mains des étrangers, et j'exécuterai des jugements contre vous.

 9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

10 Vous tomberez par l'épée, je vous jugerai à l’intérieur de la frontière d'Israël, et vous saurez que je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

11 Cette ville ne sera pas pour vous un chaudron, et vous ne serez pas non plus la chair au milieu d'elle ; mais je vous jugerai à l’intérieur de la frontière d'Israël.

 11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel:

12 Et vous saurez que je suis le SEIGNEUR, car vous n'avez pas marché dans mes statuts, ni exécuté mes jugements, mais vous avez agi suivant les manières des païens qui sont autour de vous.

 12 And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.

13 ¶ Et il arriva, comme je prophétisais, que Pelatiah (Pélatia), le fils de Benaiah (Bénaja), mourut. Alors je tombai sur ma face, et écriai à haute voix, et dis : Ah Seigneur DIEU, veux-tu en finir entièrement avec le reste d'Israël ?

 13 ¶ And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14 De nouveau la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à moi, disant :

 14 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

15 Fils de l’homme, tes frères, oui, tes frères, les hommes de ta parenté et la maison d'Israël tout entière, sont ceux auxquels les habitants de Jérusalem ont dit : Partez loin du SEIGNEUR ; ce pays nous est donné en possession.

 15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession.

16 C'est pourquoi dis : Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU : Quoique je les aie rejetés loin parmi les païens, et quoique je les aie dispersés parmi les pays, pourtant je serai pour eux un comme un petit sanctuaire dans les pays où ils seront venus.

 16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

17 C'est pourquoi dis : Ainsi dit le Seigneur DIEU : Je vous recueillerai même d'entre les peuples, je vous rassemblerai des pays où vous avez été dispersés, et je vous donnerai la terre d'Israël.

 17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

18 Et ils y entreront, et en ôteront toutes ses choses détestables et toutes ses abominations.

 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.

19 Et je leur donnerai un même cœur, et je mettrai un esprit nouveau au-dedans de vous ; et j'ôterai de leur chair le cœur de pierre, et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair,

 19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:

20 Afin qu'ils marchent selon mes statuts, et gardent mes ordonnances et qu'ils les fassent ; et ils seront mon peuple et je serai leur Dieu.

 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

21 Mais quant à ceux dont le cœur marche selon le cœur de leurs détestables choses et de leurs abominations, je récompenserai leur conduite sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur DIEU.

 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.

22 ¶ Puis les chérubins élevèrent leurs ailes, et les roues près d'eux, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël était au-dessus d’eux, en haut.

 22 ¶ Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

23 Et la gloire du SEIGNEUR monta du milieu de la ville, et se tint sur la montagne qui est à l'Est de la ville.

 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

24 ¶ Ensuite l'esprit m'enleva et m'emporta en une vision, par l'esprit de Dieu, en Chaldée à l’intérieur de la frontière vers ceux de la captivité. Et la vision que j'avais vue se départit de moi.

 24 ¶ Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

25 Alors je racontai à ceux de la captivité toutes les choses que le SEIGNEUR m'avait montrées.

 25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.
