1 Et Dieu se souvint de Noé, et de tout être vivant et de tout le bétail qui était avec lui dans l’arche: et Dieu fit passer un vent sur la terre et les eaux s’apaisèrent ;

 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

2 Les fontaines aussi de l’abîme et les fenêtres du ciel furent interrompues et la pluie du ciel fut retenue ;

 2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

3 Et les eaux se retirèrent du dessus de la terre continûment: et après la fin de cent cinquante jours les eaux furent baissées.

 3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

4 Et l’arche se posa au septième mois, au dix-septième jour du mois, sur les montagnes d’Ararat.

 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

5 Et les eaux décrurent continment jusqu’au dixième mois: au dixième mois, au premier jour du mois, les sommets des montagnes furent aperçus.

 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.

6 ¶ Et il arriva à la fin de quarante jours, que Noé ouvrit la fenêtre de l’arche qu’il avait faite:

 6 ¶ And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

7 Et il envoya un corbeau, lequel allait ici et là, jusqu’à ce que les eaux furent asséchées du dessus de la terre.

 7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8 Aussi il envoya une colombe d’auprès de lui, pour voir si les eaux avaient baissé du dessus de la surface du sol  ;

 8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;

9 Mais la colombe ne trouva aucun perchoir pour la plante de son pied, et elle retourna vers lui dans l’arche, car les eaux étaient sur la surface de la terre entière: puis il avança sa main et la prit, et la tira à lui dans l’arche.

 9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

10 Et il attendit encore sept autres jours ; et de nouveau il envoya la colombe hors de l’arche.

 10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

11 Et la colombe vint à lui le soir ;et, voici, dans son bec était une feuille d’olivier arrachée: ainsi Noé sut que les eaux avaient baissé du dessus de la terre.

 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

12 Et il attendit encore sept autres jours ; et envoya la colombe, laquelle ne retourna plus à lui.

 12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.

13 ¶ Et il arriva qu’en la six cent et unième année, au premier mois, au premier jour du mois, les eaux étaient asséchées du dessus de la terre: et Noé retira la couverture de l’arche, et regarda, et, voici, la surface du sol était sèche.

 13 ¶ And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14 Et au second mois, au vingt-septième jour du mois, la terre fut sèche.

 14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

15 ¶ Et Dieu parla à Noé, disant,

 15 ¶ And God spake unto Noah, saying,

16 Sors de l’arche, toi, ta femme, tes fils, et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.

 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

17 Fais sortir avec toi tout être vivant qui est avec toi, de toute chair, tant du volatile que du bétail, et de tout être rampant qui rampe sur la terre ; afin qu’ils puissent se reproduire abondamment sur la terre, et soient féconds et se multiplient sur la terre.

 17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

18 Et Noé sortit, et ses fils, sa femme, et les femmes de ses fils avec lui.

 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him:

19 Chaque bête, chaque être rampant et chaque volatile, et tout ce qui rampe sur la terre, suivant leurs catégories, sortirent de l’arche.

 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

20 ¶ Et Noé bâtit un autel au SEIGNEUR ; et prit de toute bête nette, et de tout volatile net, et offrit des offrandes consumées sur l’autel.

 20 ¶ And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21 Et le SEIGNEUR sentit une senteur suave ; et le SEIGNEUR dit en son cœur: Je ne maudirai plus dorénavant le sol à cause de l’homme ; car l’imagination du cœur de l’homme est mauvaise dès sa jeunesse ; ni ne frapperai jamais plus tout être vivant, comme je l’ai fait.

 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

22 Tant que la terre demeure, les semailles et la moisson et le froid et le chaud, l’été et l’hiver, et le jour et la nuit, ne cesseront pas.

 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
