1 Ce sont ici les générations des fils de Noé: Sem , Ham, et Japheth: et ils leur naquirent des fils après le déluge.

 1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.

2 Les fils de Japheth ; Gomer et Magog et Madai et Javan et Tubal et Meshech, et Tiras.

 2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

3 Et les fils de Gomer ; Ashkenaz et Riphath, et Togarmah.

 3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 Et les fils de Javan ; Elishah et Tarshish, Kittim et Dodanim.

 4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5 Mais ceux-là furent les îles des Gentils divisées dans leurs pays ; chacun suivant sa langue, suivant leurs familles, dans leurs nations.

 5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

6 ¶ Et les fils de Ham ; Cush et Mizraim, et Phut et Canaan.

 6 ¶ And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.

7 Et les fils de Cush ; Seba, et Havilah, et Sabtah, et Raamah et Sabtecha: et les fils de Raamah ; Sheba et Dedan.

 7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

8 Et Cush engendra Nimrod: il commença à être un puissant homme sur la terre.

 8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9 Il fut un puissant chasseur devant le SEIGNEUR: c’est pourquoi il est dit, Comme Nimrod, le puissant chasseur devant le SEIGNEUR.

 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

10 Et le commencement de son royaume fut Babel, et Erech, et Accad et Calneh, dans le pays de Shinar.

 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 De ce pays sortit Asshur, et il bâtit Ninive, et la cité Rehoboth, et Calah,

 11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,

12 Et Resen, entre Ninive et Calah: celle-la est une grande ville.

 12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

13 Et Mizraim engendra Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, et Naphtuhim,

 13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

14 Et les Pathrusim, et Casluhim (desquels sortirent les Philistins) et Caphtorim.

 14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

15 ¶ Et Canaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, et Heth,

 15 ¶ And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

16 Et le Jebusite, et l’Amorite, et le Girgasite,

 16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,

17 Et le Hivite, et l’Arkite, et le Sinite,

 17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

18 Et l’Arvadite, le Zemarite, le Hamathite: et ensuite les familles des Canaanites se disséminèrent de tous côtés.

 18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.

19 Et la frontière des Canaanites fut depuis Sidon, quand tu viens à Gerar, jusqu’à Gaza ; à mesure que tu vas à Sodome, et Gomorrhe, et Admah, et Zeboim, même jusqu’à Lasha.

 19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

20 Ceux-ci sont les fils de Ham, suivant leurs familles, suivant leurs langues, dans leurs pays, et dans leurs nations.

 20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

21 ¶ À Sem aussi, le père de tous les enfants d’Eber, le frère de Japheth l’aîné, même à lui naquit des enfants.

 21 ¶ Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

22 Les enfants de Sem ; Elam et Asshur et Arphaxad, et Lud et Aram.

 22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

23 Et les enfants d’Aram ; Uz, et Hul, et Gether et Mash.

 23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

24 Et Arphaxad engendra Salah ; et Salah engendra Eber.

 24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.

25 Et à Eber naquirent deux fils: le nom de l’un était Peleg ; car en ses jours la terre fut divisée ; et le nom de son frère était Joktan.

 25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

26 Et Joktan engendra Almodad, et Sheleph, et Hazarmaveth, et Jerah,

 26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

27 Et Hadoram, et Uzal, et Diklah,

 27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

28 Et Obal, et Abimael et Sheba,

 28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

29 Et Ophir, et Havilah, et Jobab: tous ceux-là étaient les fils de Joktan.

 29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.

30 Et leur demeure était depuis Mesha, quand tu vas à Sephar, un mont à l’est.

 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

31 Ceux-ci sont les fils de Sem , suivant leurs familles, suivant leurs langues, en leurs pays, suivant leurs nations.

 31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

32 Ceux-ci sont les familles des fils de Noé, suivant leurs générations, dans leurs nations: et par eux furent les nations de la terre divisées après le déluge.

 32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
