1 En la seconde année du roi Darius, au sixième mois, au premier jour du mois, la parole du SEIGNEUR vint par Haggai (Aggée), le prophète, à Zerubbabel (Zorobabel), le fils de Shealtiel, gouverneur de Judah (Juda), et à Joshua (Josué), le fils de Josedech (Jotsadak), le grand prêtre, disant :

1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
|
2 Ainsi parle le SEIGNEUR des armées, disant : Ce peuple dit le temps n’est pas venu, le temps où la maison du SEIGNEUR doit être bâtie.
|
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.
|
3 Et la parole du SEIGNEUR vint par Haggai (Aggée), le prophète, en disant :
|
3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
|
4 Est-il temps pour vous, ô vous, de demeurer dans vos maisons lambrissées, pendant que cette maison-là reste dévastée ?
|
4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
|
5 Maintenant donc, Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Considérez attentivement vos conduites.
|
5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
|
6 Vous avez semé beaucoup, mais peu fait rentrer ; vous mangez, mais vous n’êtes pas rassasiés ; vous buvez, mais non pas jusqu’à être remplis ; vous êtes vêtus, mais personne n’a chaud ; et celui qui gagne un salaire le met dans un sac percé.

6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
|
7 ¶ Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Considérez attentivement vos chemins.
|
7 ¶ Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
|
8 Montez à la montagne, et apportez du bois, et bâtissez la maison ; et j’y prendrai plaisir, et je serai glorifié, dit le SEIGNEUR.
|
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
|
9 Vous comptiez sur beaucoup, et voici, il est revenu à peu ; et lorsque vous l’avez apporté à la maison, j’ai soufflé dessus. Pourquoi ? dit le SEIGNEUR des armées. À cause de ma maison, laquelle est dévastée, pendant que vous courez chacun à sa maison.

9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
|
10 C’est pourquoi le ciel au-dessus de vous retient la rosée, et la terre a retenu son fruit.
|
10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
|
11 Et j’ai appelé une sécheresse sur le pays, et sur les montagnes, et sur le grain, sur le vin nouveau et sur l’huile, et sur ce que le sol produit, et sur les hommes et sur les bêtes, et sur tout le travail des mains.

11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
|
12 ¶ Zerubbabel (Zorobabel) donc, le fils de Shealtiel, Joshua (Josué), le fils de Josedech (Jotsadak), le grand prêtre, avec tout le reste du peuple obéirent la voix du SEIGNEUR leur Dieu, et les paroles d’Haggai (Aggée), le prophète, ainsi que le SEIGNEUR leur Dieu l’avait envoyé ; et le peuple eut de la crainte devant SEIGNEUR.

12 ¶ Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
|
13 Alors Haggai (Aggée), le messager du SEIGNEUR, parla au peuple selon le message du SEIGNEUR, disant : Je suis avec vous, dit le SEIGNEUR.
|
13 Then spake Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.
|
14 Et le SEIGNEUR activa l’esprit de Zerubbabel (Zorobabel), le fils de Shealtiel, gouverneur de Judah, et l’esprit de Joshua (Josué), fils de Josedech (Jotsadak), le grand prêtre, et l’esprit de tout le reste du peuple ; et ils vinrent, et travaillèrent à la maison du SEIGNEUR des armées, leur Dieu,

14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
|
15 Au vingt-quatrième jour du sixième mois, en la seconde année du roi Darius.
|
15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
