1 Ô SEIGNEUR, tu es mon Dieu ; je t'exalterai, je louerai ton nom ; car tu as fait des choses merveilleuses, tes conseils depuis longtemps sont fidélité et vérité.

1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
|
2 Car tu as fait d'une ville un monceau de pierres, d'une cité forte une ruine ; le palais des étrangers ne soit plus une ville ; il ne sera jamais rebâti.
|
2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
|
3 C'est pourquoi le peuple fort te glorifiera, la ville des nations redoutables te craindra.
|
3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
|
4 Car tu as été le soutien du pauvre, le soutien du nécessiteux dans sa détresse, un refuge contre la tempête, un ombrage contre la chaleur, quand le souffle des redoutables est comme une tempête contre une muraille.
|
4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
|
5 Tu abattras le bruit des étrangers, comme la chaleur dans un lieu aride ; a savoir comme la chaleur par l'ombre d'un nuage, le branchage des redoutables sera abaissé.
|
5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
|
6 ¶ Et, en cette montagne, le SEIGNEUR des armées fera à tous les peuples, un festin de choses grasses, un festin de vins sans lie, de choses grasses pleine de moelle, de vins sans lie, bien purifiés.
|
6 ¶ And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
|
7 Et il détruira en cette montagne, la face de la couverture jetée sur tous les peuples, et le voile qui est étendu sur toutes les nations.
|
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
|
8 Il engloutira la mort en victoire ; et le Seigneur DIEU essuiera les larmes de tous les visages, et il retirera la réprimande de son peuple de dessus toute la terre ; car le SEIGNEUR a parlé.
|
8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
|
9 ¶ Et il sera dit en ce jour-là : Voici, c'est notre Dieu ; nous avons attendu pour lui, et il nous sauvera, c'est le SEIGNEUR ; nous avons attendu pour lui, nous nous égayerons et nous nous réjouirons en son salut.
|
9 ¶ And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
|
10 Car en cette montagne, la main du SEIGNEUR reposera, et Moab sera piétiné sous lui, c'est-à-dire comme la paille est piétinée pour le tas de fumier.
|
10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
|
11 Et il étendra ses mains au milieu d'eux, comme celui qui nage étend ses mains pour nager ; et il abaissera leur fierté ainsi que les butins de leurs mains.
|
11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands.
|
12 Et la forteresse de la plus haute fortification de tes murailles, il démolira ; il la renversera, il la mettra par terre et même jusqu'à la poussière.
|
12 And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.
