1 Voici, le SEIGNEUR rend la terre vide et la rend dévastée, et il la renverse sens dessus dessous et disperse ses habitants.
|
1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
|
2 Et il en sera du peuple comme du prêtre, du serviteur comme de son maître, de la servante comme de sa maîtresse, de l'acheteur comme du vendeur, du prêteur comme de l'emprunteur, celui qui fait un prêt à usure comme de celui qui prête à usure.
|
2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.
|
3 Le pays sera entièrement vidé et entièrement pillé, car le SEIGNEUR a dit cette parole.
|
3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.
|
4 La terre mène deuil et disparaît, le monde languit et disparaît ; les gens hautains de la terre sont languissants.
|
4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.
|
5 La terre aussi est souillée sous les pieds de ses habitants ; parce qu'ils ont transgressé les lois, changé l'ordonnance, rompu l'alliance éternelle.
|
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
|
6 C'est pourquoi la malédiction a dévoré la terre, et ceux qui y demeurent sont dévastés ; c'est pourquoi les habitants de la terre sont consumés, et il ne reste que peu d'hommes.
|
6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.
|
7 Le vin nouveau mène deuil, la vigne languit, tous ceux qui avaient le cœur joyeux soupirent ;
|
7 The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.
|
8 La gaieté des tambourins cesse, le bruit de ceux qui se réjouissent prend fin, la joie de la harpe cesse.
|
8 The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.
|
9 Ils ne boiront plus de vin en chantant ; la boisson forte sera amère à ceux qui la boivent.
|
9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.
|
10 La cité de confusion est démolie ; toute maison est fermée, personne n'y entre.
|
10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.
|
11 Il y a un cri dans les rues pour du vin ; toute joie est assombrie, la gaieté du pays est partie.
|
11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.
|
12 Il ne reste dans la ville que désolation, et la porte est frappée par la destruction.
|
12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
|
13 ¶ Car ainsi il en sera au milieu du pays, parmi les peuples, ce sera comme quand on secoue l'olivier, et comme quand on grappille après la vendange.
|
13 ¶ When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.
|
14 Ils élèveront leur voix, ils chanteront la majesté du SEIGNEUR, ils exulteront depuis la mer.
|
14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
|
15 C'est pourquoi glorifiez le SEIGNEUR dans les feux, c'est-à-dire le nom du SEIGNEUR Dieu d'Israël, dans les îles de la mer.
|
15 Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.
|
16 ¶ Nous avons entendu du lieu le plus reculé de la terre des chants, savoir gloire àl'homme droit. Mais j'ai dit : Ma maigreur, ma maigreur, malheur à moi ! Les perfides ont agi perfidement ; oui, les perfides ont agi très perfidement.
|
16 ¶ From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
|
17 La peur, et la fosse et le piège sont sur toi, ô habitant de la terre.
|
17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
|
18 Et il arrivera que celui qui fuit au bruit de la peur tombera dans la fosse ; et celui qui remonte du milieu de la fosse, sera pris dans le piège ; car les fenêtres d'en haut sont ouvertes, et les fondements de la terre tremblent.
|
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
|
19 La terre est entièrement brisée, la terre se dissout complètement, la terre se déplace excessivement.
|
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
|
20 La terre tournoiera ça et là, comme un homme ivre, et sera transportée comme une cabane ; et sa transgression pèsera sur elle ; et elle tombera, et ne se relèvera plus.
|
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
|
21 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, que le SEIGNEUR punira l'armée des hautement élevés, qui sont en haut, et des rois de la terre, sur la terre.
|
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
|
22 Et ils seront assemblés ensemble, comme des prisonniers dans une fosse, et seront enfermés dans la prison ; et après beaucoup de jours ils seront visités.
|
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
|
23 Alors la lune sera d écontenancée, et le soleil sera honteux, lorsque le SEIGNEUR des armées régnera glorieusement au mont Zion (Sion), et à Jérusalem, et devant ses anciens.
|
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.
