1 Malheur à toi qui dévastes et tu n'as pas été dévasté, et agis traîtreusement, et envers qui on n'a pas agi traîtreusement ! Quand tu auras fini de dévaster, tu seras dévasté ; et quand tu auras terminé d'agir traîtreusement, on agira traîtreusement avec toi.

1 Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
|
2 Ô SEIGNEUR, use de grâce envers nous, nous avons attendu pour toi. Sois leur bras chaque matin, notre salut aussi au temps de la difficulté.
|
2 O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
|
3 Au bruit du tumulte, les peuples s'enfuient ; quand tu t'es élevé, les nations ont été dispersées.
|
3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.
|
4 Et votre butin sera ramassé comme un amas de chenilles ; on se ruera sur eux, comme se ruent ça et là, les sauterelles.
|
4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
|
5 Le SEIGNEUR est exalté ; car il demeure en haut il a rempli Zion (Sion) de juste jugement et de rectitude.
|
5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
|
6 Et la sagesse et la connaissance seront la stabilité de ton temps, et la puissance du salut ; la crainte du SEIGNEUR est son trésor.
|
6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
|
7 Voici, leurs plus vaillants crieront dehors ; les ambassadeurs de paix pleureront amèrement.
|
7 Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
|
8 Les grandes routes gisent dévastées ; les passants ne passent plus ; il a rompu l'alliance, il a méprisé les villes, il n'a d'égard pour personne.
|
8 The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
|
9 La terre est en deuil et languit ; le Liban est honteux et abattu ; Sharon (Saron) est comme un désert ; et Bashan (Basan) et Carmel font tomber leurs fruits.
|
9 The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
|
10 Maintenant je me lèverai, dit le SEIGNEUR ; maintenant je serai exalté, maintenant je m'élèverai.
|
10 Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
|
11 Vous concevrez de la paille, vous enfanterez du chaume ; votre souffle vous dévorera comme le feu.
|
11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
|
12 Et les peuples seront comme les fourneaux de chaux, comme des épines coupées, ils seront brûlés au feu.
|
12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
|
13 ¶ Entendez, vous qui êtes loin, ce que j'ai fait ; et vous qui êtes près, reconnaissez ma puissance.
|
13 ¶ Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
|
14 Les pécheurs ont peur dans Zion (Sion) ; l'effroi a saisi les hypocrites. Qui d'entre nous demeurera avec le feu dévorant ? qui d'entre nous demeurera avec les brûlures perpétuelles ?
|
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
|
15 Celui qui marche avec rectitude, et qui parle avec intégrité ; celui qui rejette le gain qui opprime, qui secoue ses mains pour ne pas être soudoyé ; qui bouche ses oreilles pour ne pas entendre parler de sang, et ferme ses yeux pour ne pas voir le mal.
|
15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
|
16 Celui- là demeurera en haut ; sa retraite sera des forteresses assises sur des rochers ; son pain lui sera donné, ses eaux ne manqueront pas.
|
16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
|
17 Tes yeux verront le roi dans sa beauté ; ils contempleront le pays lointain.
|
17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
|
18 Ton cœur méditera sur la terreur Où est le scribe ? où est le receveur ? où est celui qui comptait les tours ?
|
18 Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?
|
19 Tu ne verras plus le peuple violent, un peuple d'un langage obscur, que tu ne peux discerner, à la langue bégayante, que tu ne peux pas comprendre.
|
19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.
|
20 Regarde Zion (Sion), la ville de nos solennités ; tes yeux verront Jérusalem une habitation tranquille, un tabernacle qui ne sera pas transporté, aucun de ses pieux ne sera jamais ôté, ni aucune de ses cordes ne sera rompue.
|
20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
|
21 Mais là le glorieux SEIGNEUR sera pour nous un lieu de larges rivières et ruisseaux, dans lequel n'ira aucune galère à rames, ni aucun navire intrépide n'y passera.
|
21 But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
|
22 Car le SEIGNEUR est notre juge, le SEIGNEUR est notre législateur, le SEIGNEUR est notre roi ; il nous sauvera.
|
22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
|
23 Tes cordages sont desserrés ; ils ne pourront maintenir leur mât, ils ne pourront étendre la voile ; alors la proie d'un grand butin sera partagée ; les boiteux prennent la proie.
|
23 Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
|
24 Et l'habitant ne dira pas. Je suis malade ; le peuple qui y demeure sera pardonnée de leur iniquité.
|
24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
