1 En ces jours-là, Hezekiah (Ezéchias) fut malade à la mort. Et Isaiah (Ésaïe) le prophète, le fils d’Amoz (Amots), vint vers lui et lui dit : Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : Mets ordre à ta maison, car tu vas mourir, et tu ne vivras plus.

1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
|
2 Alors Hezekiah (Ezéchias) tourna son visage contre le mur et pria le SEIGNEUR,
|
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,
|
3 Et il dit : Souviens-toi maintenant, je te prie, Ô SEIGNEUR, comment j'ai marché devant toi en vérité et avec intégrité de cœur, et que j'ai fait ce qui est bon à tes yeux. Et Hezekiah (Ezéchias) pleura abondamment.

3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
|
4 ¶ Alors la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à Isaiah (Ésaïe), disant :
|
4 ¶ Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
|
5 Va, et dis à Hezekiah (Ezéchias) : Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR, le Dieu de David, ton père : J'ai entendu ta prière, j'ai vu tes larmes ; voici, j'ajouterai quinze années à tes jours.
|
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
|
6 Et je te délivrerai, toi et cette ville, de la main du roi d'Assyrie ; je protégerai cette ville.
|
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
|
7 Et ceci te sera, de la part du SEIGNEUR, le signe que le SEIGNEUR accomplira la parole qu'il a prononcée.
|
7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;
|
8 Voici, je ferai retourner l'ombre des degrés par lesquels elle est descendue sur le cadran solaire d'Ahaz (Achaz), de dix degrés en arrière. Ainsi le soleil retourna de dix degrés par lesquels il était descendu.
|
8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
|
9 ¶ L'écrit d'Hezekiah, roi de Judah, lorsqu'il a été malade et qu'il a été rétabli de sa maladie.
|
9 ¶ The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
|
10 Je disais dans le retranchement de mes jours, j'irai dans les portes de la tombe je suis privé du reste de mes années.
|
10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
|
11 Je disais Je ne verrai plus le SEIGNEUR, à savoir le SEIGNEUR dans la terre des vivants. Je ne contemplerai plus l'homme avec les habitants du monde.
|
11 I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
|
12 Ma durée s'en est allée, et est retirée loin de moi comme une tente de berger ; j'ai tranché comme le tisserand ma vie ; il me coupera dès les pennes depuis le jour jusqu'à la nuit, tu en auras fini avec moi.
|
12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
|
13 Je réfléchissais jusqu'au matin, que comme un lion, il briserait ainsi tous mes os depuis le jour jusqu'à la nuit, tu en auras fini avec moi.
|
13 I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
|
14 Comme une grue ou une hirondelle, ainsi je bavardais ; je gémissais comme la colombe ; mes yeux étaient épuisés à regarder en haut ô SEIGNEUR, je suis accablé, charge-toi de moi.
|
14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.
|
15 Que dirai-je ? Il m'a parlé, et lui-même l'a fait ; je m'en irai tout doucement, toutes mes années dans l'amertume de mon âme.
|
15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.
|
16 Ô Seigneur, par ces choses les hommes vivent, et en toutes ces choses est la vie de mon esprit ; ainsi tu m'as rétabli, et tu me fais vivre.
|
16 O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
|
17 Voici, à la place de paix j'avais une grande amertume ; mais tu as par amour pour mon âme, tu l'as délivrée, de la fosse de destruction, car tu as jeté tous mes péchés derrière ton dos.
|
17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
|
18 Car la tombe ne peut pas te louer, la mort ne peut pas te célébrer ; ceux qui descendent dans la fosse ne peuvent espérer en ta vérité.
|
18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
|
19 Le vivant, le vivant, lui te louera, comme je fais aujourd'hui ; le père fera connaître aux enfants ta vérité.
|
19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
|
20 Le SEIGNEUR était prêt pour me sauver c'est pourquoi nous chanterons nos cantiques, sur les instruments à cordes tous les jours de notre vie, dans la maison du SEIGNEUR.
|
20 The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
|
21 Car Isaiah (Ésaïe) avait dit : Qu'on prenne une masse de figues, et qu'on en fasse un emplâtre sur l'ulcère, et il se rétablira.
|
21 For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.
|
22 Et Hezekiah (Ezéchias) avait dit : Quel est le signe, que je monterai à la maison de l'SEIGNEUR ?
|
22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
