1 L'Esprit du Seigneur DIEU, est sur moi ; parce que le SEIGNEUR m'a oint pour prêcher de bonnes nouvelles aux dociles ; il m'a envoyé pour panser ceux qui ont le cœur brisé, pour proclamer la liberté aux captifs, et l'ouverture de la prison à ceux qui sont prisonniers ;

 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 Pour proclamer l'année acceptable du SEIGNEUR et le jour de la vengeance de notre Dieu ; pour consoler tous ceux qui mènent deuil ;

 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 Pour désigner à ceux de Zion (Sion) qui mènent deuil, pour leur donner la splendeur au lieu de la cendre, l'huile de joie au lieu du deuil, le vêtement de louange au lieu d'un esprit de tristesse ; afin qu'ils puissent être appelés arbres de rectitude, la plantation du SEIGNEUR, afin qu'il puisse être glorifié.

 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

4 ¶ Et ils bâtiront les ruines anciennes, ils relèveront les décombres précédents, et ils répareront les villes ruinées, les désolations depuis de nombreuses générations.

 4 ¶ And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

5 Et les étrangers s'y tiendront et nourriront vos troupeaux, et les fils de l'étranger seront vos laboureurs et vos vignerons.

 5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

6 Mais vous, vous serez appelés les Prêtres du SEIGNEUR ; les hommes vous appeleront les Ministres de notre Dieu ; vous mangerez les richesses des Gentils, et vous vous vanterez de leur gloire.

 6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

7 ¶ À cause de votre honte, vous aurez le double ; et au lieu de la confusion, elles se réjouiront de leur portion ; c'est pourquoi dans leur pays ils posséderont le double, et ils auront une joie éternelle.

 7 ¶ For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

8 Car moi, le SEIGNEUR, j'aime le jugement, je hais le pillage pour offrande consumée ; et j'établirai leur œuvre avec vérité, et je traiterai avec eux une alliance éternelle.

 8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

9 Et leur semence sera connue parmi les Gentils, et leur progéniture parmi les peuples ; tous ceux qui les verront, les reconnaîtront, qu'ils sont la semence que le SEIGNEUR a bénie.

 9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

10 Je me réjouirai extrêmement dans le SEIGNEUR, mon âme s'égaiera en mon Dieu ; car il m'a revêtu des vêtements du salut, il m'a couvert de la robe de rectitude, comme un époux se pare d'atours et comme une épouse s'orne de ses joyaux.

 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

11 Car, comme la terre fait jaillir son germe et comme un jardin fait sortir les choses qui y sont semées, ainsi le Seigneur DIEU fera germer rectitude et louange devant toutes les nations.

 11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
