1 Lève-toi, brille car ta lumière est venue, et la gloire du SEIGNEUR s'est levée sur toi.

 1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

2 Car voici, l'obscurité couvrira la terre, et une énorme obscurité, les peuples ; mais sur toi se lèvera le SEIGNEUR, et sa gloire paraîtra sur toi.

 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 Et les Gentils viendront à ta lumière, et les rois à la clarté de ton lever.

 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

4 Lève tes yeux alentour et regarde : ils se rassemblent tous, ils viennent à toi ; tes fils viendront de loin, et tes filles seront nourries à tes côtés.

 4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Alors tu verras, et conflueras ensemble, ton cœur s'étonnera et s'épanouira ; parce que l'abondance de la mer se tournera vers toi, et les richesses des Gentils viendront vers toi.

 5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

6 Une multitude de chameaux te couvrira, les dromadaires de Midian (Madian) et d'Épha ; tous ils viendront de Sheba ; ils apporteront or et encens, et ils montreront les louanges du SEIGNEUR.

 6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

7 Tous les troupeaux de Kedar seront rassemblés vers toi, les béliers de Nébajoth te serviront ; ils monteront avec une offrande acceptée sur mon autel, et je glorifierai la maison de ma gloire.

 7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.

8 Qui sont ceux-là, qui volent comme un nuage, et comme des colombes vers leurs colombiers ?

 8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Certainement que les îles m'attendront, et les navires de Tarshish (Tarsis) les premiers, pour amener de loin tes fils, leur argent et leur or avec eux, au nom du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, et au Saint d'Israël, parce qu'il t'aura glorifiée.

 9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

10 Et les fils des étrangers bâtiront tes murs, et leurs rois te serviront ; car dans ma colère je t'ai frappée, mais, dans ma bonté, je t'ai fait miséricorde.

 10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

11 C'est pourquoi tes portes seront continuellement ouvertes ; elles ne seront fermées ni jour ni nuit, afin que les richesses des Gentils te soient apportées et que leurs rois puissent être amenés.

 11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

12 Car la nation et le royaume qui ne te serviront pas périront, oui, ces nations-là seront entièrement ravagées.

 12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

13 La gloire du Liban viendra vers toi, le sapin, le pin et le buis ensemble, pour orner le lieu de mon sanctuaire, et je rendrai glorieux le lieu où reposent mes pieds.

 13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14 Et les fils de ceux qui t'affligeaient viendront vers toi en se courbant ; et tous ceux qui te méprisaient s'inclineront à la plante de tes pieds, et ils t'appelleront : La ville du SEIGNEUR, La Zion (Sion) du Saint d'Israël.

 14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 Au lieu d'avoir été délaissée et haïe, si bien que personne ne passait par toi, je ferai de toi une excellence éternelle, une joie pour beaucoup de générations.

 15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16 Et tu suceras le lait des Gentils, et tu suceras la mamelle des rois, et tu sauras que moi, le SEIGNEUR, suis ton Sauveur, et ton Rédempteur, le Puissant de Jacob.

 16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

17 Au lieu de cuivre je ferai venir de l'or, au lieu de fer je ferai venir de l'argent, au lieu du bois, du cuivre, et au lieu des pierres, du fer. Je ferai que tes gouverneurs soient enclins à la paix, et tes magistrats à la rectitude.

 17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

18 On n'entendra plus parler de violence dans ton pays, de dévastation et de ruine dans tes limites ; mais tu appelleras tes murailles Salut, et tes portes Louange.

 18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

19 Le soleil ne sera plus ta lumière pendant le jour, et la clarté de la lune ne t'éclairera plus ; mais le SEIGNEUR sera pour toi une lumière perpétuelle, et ton Dieu, ta gloire.

 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20 Ton soleil ne se couchera plus, et ta lune ne se retirera plus ; car le SEIGNEUR sera pour toi une lumière perpétuelle, et les jours de ton deuil seront finis.

 20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

21 Et ton peuple entier sera droit ; ils posséderont en héritage le pays à toujours, la branche de ma plantation, l'œuvre de mes mains, afin que je puisse être glorifié.

 21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22 Le petit deviendra un millier, et le moindre, une forte nation. Moi, le SEIGNEUR, je hâterai ceci en son temps.

 22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.
