1 Et toute la congrégation des enfants d’Israël s’assembla à Shiloh (Silo), et posèrent là le tabernacle de la congrégation. Et le pays fut soumis devant eux

 1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.

2 Et il était resté parmi les enfants d’Israël, sept tribus, lesquelles n’avaient pas reçu leur héritage.

 2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.

3 Et Joshua (Josué) dit aux enfants d’Israël : Pendant combien de temps négligerez-vous d’aller prendre possession de la terre que le SEIGNEUR Dieu de vos pères vous a donnée ?

 3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

4 Prenez trois hommes de chaque tribu, et je les enverrai, et ils se lèveront, et parcourront le pays, et en feront une description selon leur héritage, et ilsreviendront vers de moi.

 4 Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

5 Et ils le diviseront en sept parts ; Judah (Juda) demeurera dans son territoire au sud, et la maison de Joseph demeurera dans ses confins au nord.

 5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.

6 Vous décrirez donc le pays en sept parts, et vous m’apporterez ici la description, afin que je puisse tirer les lots pour vous ici devant le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu.

 6 Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.

7 Mais les Lévites n’ont pas de part parmi vous, parce que la prêtrise du SEIGNEUR est leur héritage ; et Gad, et Reuben (Ruben) et la demi-tribu de Manasseh (Manassé) ont reçu, au-delà du Jourdain, à l’est, l’héritage que Moïse le serviteur du SEIGNEUR, leur a donné.

 7 But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.

8 ¶ Et les hommes se levèrent et partirent ; et Joshua (Josué) commanda à ceux qui partaient faire la description du pays, disant : Allez, parcourez le pays et décrivez-le, et revenez vers moi, afin que je puisse tirer les lots pour vous, devant le SEIGNEUR, à Shiloh (Silo).

 8 ¶ And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh.

9 Et les hommes s’en allèrent, et parcoururent le pays, et le décrivirent dans un livre, selon les villes, en sept parts, et ils revinrent vers Joshua (Josué), au camp de Shiloh (Silo).

 9 And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.

10 ¶ Et Joshua (Josué) tira les lots pour eux à Shiloh (Silo), devant le SEIGNEUR ; et là, Joshua (Josué) partagea le pays aux enfants d’Israël, selon leurs divisions.

 10 ¶ And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.

11 ¶ Et le lot de la tribu des enfants de Benjamin tomba selon leurs familles ; et le territoire de leur lot leur échut entre les enfants de Judah (Juda) et les enfants de Joseph.

 11 ¶ And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

12 Et leur frontière du côté nord était depuis le Jourdain ; et la frontière montait à côté de Jéricho, au nord, puis montait à travers les montagnes vers l’Ouest, et aboutissait au désert de Bethaven ;

 12 And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.

13 Et la frontière passait de là vers Luz, à côté de Luz, qui est Bethel, vers le Sud ; et la frontière descendait à Atarothadar, près de la colline qui est du côté sud de Bethhoron la basse.

 13 And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron.

14 Et la frontière était tracée de là, et encerclait le coin de la mer vers le Sud, depuis la colline qui est devant Bethhoron, vers le Sud ; et elle aboutissait à Kirjathbaal, qui est Kirjathjearim, ville des enfants de Judah (Juda) : C’était le canton ouest.

 14 And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.

15 Et le canton sud était depuis l’extrémité de Kirjathjearim ; et la frontière sortait vers l’Ouest, et allait sortir à la fontaine des eaux de Nephtoah.

 15 And the south quarter was from the end of Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:

16 Et la frontière descendait à l’extrémité de la montagne qui est devant la vallée du fils de Hinnom, et laquelle est dans la vallée des géants au nord, et elle descendait vers la vallée de Hinnom, jusqu’au côté de Jebusi, vers le Sud ; puis descendait à Enrogel.

 16 And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel,

17 Et elle était tracée depuis le nord, et sortait à Enshemesh, et sortait vers Geliloth, qui est face à la montée d’Adummim, et descendait à la pierre de Bohan le fils de Reuben (Ruben),

 17 And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,

18 Puis passait vers le côté nord en face d’Arabah, et descendait à Arabah.

 18 And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:

19 Et la frontière passait le long du côté de Bethhoglah, vers leNord, et la frontière aboutissait à la baie nord de la mer Salée, à l’extrémité sud du Jourdain : C’était le territoire sud.

 19 And the border passed along to the side of Bethhoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast.

20 Et le Jourdain était la frontière du côté est. C’était l’héritage des enfants de Benjamin, suivant ses confins tout autour, selon leurs familles.

 20 And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.

21 Or les villes de la tribu des enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles, étaient : Jéricho, et Bethhoglah, et la vallée de Keziz,

 21 Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz,

22 Et Betharabah, et Zemaraim, et Bethel,

 22 And Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,

23 Et Avim, et Parah, et Ophrah,

 23 And Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,

24 Et Chepharhaammonai, et Ophni et Gaba : douze villes, et leurs villages ;

 24 And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:

25 Gibeon, et Ramah, et Beeroth,

 25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

26 Et Mizpeh, et Chephirah, et Mozah,

 26 And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

27 Et Rekem, et Irpeel, et Taralah,

 27 And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

28 Et Zelah, Eleph, Jebusi, qui est Jérusalem, Gibeath, et Kirjath : quatorze villes et leurs villages. C’est l’héritage des enfants de Benjamin, selon leurs familles.

 28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
