1 ¶ Ainsi le roi Salomon fut roi sur tout Israël.

 1 So king Solomon was king over all Israel.

2 Et ceux-ci étaient les princes qu’il avait Azariah, le fils de Zadok, le prêtre,

 2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,

3 Elihoreph et Ahiah, les fils de Shisha, scribes ; Jehoshaphat, le fils d’Ahilud, l’archiviste ;

 3 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.

4 Et Benaiah, le fils de Jehoiada, préposé sur l’armée ; et Zadok et Abiathar étaient les prêtres ;

 4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

5 Et Azariah, le fils de Nathan, préposé sur les officiers ; et Zabud, le fils de Nathan, était principal officier, et ami du roi ;

 5 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend:

6 Et Ahishar, préposé sur la maison ; et Adoniram, le fils d’Abda, préposé sur les tributs.

 6 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.

7 Et Salomon avait douze officiers préposés sur tout Israël, lesquels pourvoyaient aux vivres pour le roi et pour sa maison ; chaque homme fournissait les provisions un mois par an.

 7 ¶ And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.

8 Et ce sont ici leurs noms le fils de Hur au mont Éphraim ;

 8 And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:

9 Le fils de Dekar à Makaz, et à Shaalbim, et à Bethshemesh et Elonbethhanan ;

 9 The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan:

10 Le fils de Hesed à Aruboth ; à lui appartenait Sochoh et tout le pays de Hepher.

 10 The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:

11 Le fils d’Abinadab avait toute la région de Dor ; lequel avait Taphath, la fille de Salomon, pour femme.

 11 The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:

12 Baana, le fils d’Ahilud, à lui appartenait Taanach, et Megido (Meguiddo), et tout Bethshean, qui est près de Zartanah, au-dessous de Jezreel, depuis Bethshean jusqu’à Abelmeholah, et même jusqu’au-delà de Jokneam.

 12 Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam:

13 Le fils de Geber était à Ramothgilead ; à lui appartenait les villes de Jair, le fils de Manasseh (Manassé), qui sont en Gilead (Galaad) ; à lui aussi appartenait la région d’Argob, qui est en Bashan, soixante grandes villes fortifiées et garnies de barres de cuivre.

 13 The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:

14 Ahinadab, le fils d’Iddo, avait Mahanaim ;

 14 Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:

15 Ahimaaz, était en Naphtali (Nephtali) ; il avait pris aussi Bashemath, la fille de Salomon, pour femme.

 15 Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife:

16 Baanah, le fils de Hushai, était en Asher (Asser) et en Aloth ;

 16 Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:

17 Jehoshaphat, le fils de Paruah, en Issachar ;

 17 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:

18 Shimei, le fils d’Elah, en Benjamin ;

 18 Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:

19 Geber, le fils d’Uri, était dans la province de Gilead (Galaad), dans la province de Sihon, roi des Amorites et d’Og, roi de Bashan ; et il était le seul officier qui était dans le pays.

 19 Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.

20 ¶ Judah et Israël étaient nombreux, comme le sable qui est près de la mer, une multitude, mangeant et buvant et se réjouissant.

 20 ¶ Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

21 Et Salomon régnait sur tous les royaumes, depuis le fleuve jusqu’au pays des Philistins et jusqu’à la frontière d’Égypte ; ils apportaient des présents, et servirent Salomon tous les jours de sa vie.

 21 And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

22 Et les vivres de Salomon étaient pour chaque jour trente mesures de fleur de farine et soixante mesures de farine ;

 22 ¶ And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,

23 Dix bœufs gras et vingt bœufs des pâturages, et une centaine de moutons, outre les cerfs, et les chevreuils, et les daims et les volailles engraissées.

 23 Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl.

24 Car il avait la domination sur toute la région de ce côté-ci du fleuve, depuis Tiphsah jusqu’à Azzah, sur tous les rois de ce côté-ci du fleuve ; et il avait la paix de tous côtés, tout autour de lui.

 24 For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

25 Et Judah et Israël demeuraient en sécurité, chacun sous sa vigne et sous son figuier, depuis Dan jusqu’à Beersheba, tous les jours de Salomon.

 25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

26 Et Salomon avait quarante mille stalles pour les chevaux pour ses chariots et douze mille cavaliers.

 26 ¶ And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

27 Et ces officiers pourvoyaient aux vivres du roi Salomon et de tous ceux qui venaient à la table du roi Salomon, chaque homme durant son mois ; ils ne laissaient rien manquer.

 27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

28 Ils faisaient aussi venir de l’orge et de la paille pour les chevaux et les dromadaires au lieu où étaient les officiers, chacun selon sa charge.

 28 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

29 ¶ Et Dieu donna à Salomon de la sagesse, et une fort grande intelligence, et une largesse de cœur, comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer.

 29 ¶ And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

30 Et la sagesse de Salomon surpassait la sagesse de tous les enfants de l’Est, et toute la sagesse de l’Égypte.

 30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

31 Il était plus sage qu’aucun homme ; plus qu’Ethan l’Ezrahite, et qu’Heman, et Chalcol et Darda, les fils de Mahol ; et sa renommée se répandit parmi toutes les nations à l’entour.

 31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.

32 Et il proféra trois mille Proverbes , et ses cantiques furent de mille cinq.

 32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

33 Et il parla des arbres, depuis le cèdre qui est au Liban jusqu’à l’hysope qui sort de la muraille ; il a aussi parlé des animaux, et des oiseaux, et des choses rampantes et des poissons.

 33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

34 Et, de tous les peuples, on venait pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon, de la part de tous les rois de la terre, qui avaient entendu parler de sa sagesse.

 34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.
