1 Durant la vingt-septième année de Jeroboam, roi d’Israël, Azariah, fils d’Amaziah (Amatsia), roi de Judah (Juda), commença à régner.

 1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

2 Il était âgé de seize ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna cinquante-deux ans à Jérusalem. Et le nom de sa mère était Jecholiah de Jérusalem.

 2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

3 Et il fit ce qui était droit à la vue du SEIGNEUR, selon tout ce que Amaziah (Amatsia), son père avait fait.

 3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

4 Seulement les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés ; le peuple sacrifiait, et brûlait encore de l’encens sur les hauts lieux.

 4 Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

5 ¶ Et le SEIGNEUR frappa le roi, si bien qu’il fut lépreux jusqu’au jour de sa mort, et demeura dans une maison distincte. Et Jotham, le fils du roi, avait la charge sur la maison, jugeant le peuple du pays.

 5 ¶ And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

6 Et le reste des actes d’Azariah, et tout ce qu’il fit, ne sont-ils pas écrits dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Judah (Juda) ?

 6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

7 Ainsi Azariah s’endormit avec ses pères, et on l’enterra avec ses pères, dans la cité de David ; et Jotham, son fils, régna à sa place.

 7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 ¶ Durant la trente-huitième année d’Azariah, roi de Judah (Juda), Zachariah (Zacharie) le fils de Jeroboam, régna sur Israël à Samarie, six mois.

 8 ¶ In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

9 Et il fit ce qui était mauvais à la vue du SEIGNEUR, comme ses pères avaient fait il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jeroboam, le fils de Nebat, lequel avait fait pécher Israël.

 9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

10 Et Shallum (Sallum) le fils de Jabesh (Jabès) conspira contre lui, et le frappa devant le peuple, et le tua ; et il régna à sa place.

 10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

11 Et le reste des actes de Zachariah (Zacharie), voici, ils sont écrits dans le livre des chroniques des rois d’Israël.

 11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

12 C’était là la parole que le SEIGNEUR avait adressée à Jehu, disant : Tes fils seront assis sur le trône d’Israël jusqu’à la quatrième génération. Et il en fut ainsi.

 12 This was the word of the LORD which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

13 ¶ Shallum, le fils de Jabesh, commença à régner la trente-neuvième année d’Uzziah (Hozias), roi de Judah (Juda), et il régna un mois entier à Samarie.

 13 ¶ Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

14 Car Menahem, le fils de Gadi, monta de Tirzah, et entra à Samarie, et frappa Shallum, le fils de Jabesh, à Samarie, et le tua ; et il régna à sa place.

 14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

15 Et le reste des actes de Shallum, et la conspiration qu’il fit, voici, ils sont écrits dans le livre des chroniques des rois d’Israël.

 15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

16 ¶ Alors Menahem frappa Tiphsah, et tous ceux qui y étaient, et son territoire depuis Tirzah, parce qu’on ne lui avait pas ouvert, c’est pourquoi il la frappa, et éventra toutes ses femmes enceintes.

 16 ¶ Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

17 Durant la trente-neuvième année d’Azariah, roi de Judah (Juda), Menahem, fils de Gadi, commença à régner sur Israël, et il régna dix ans à Samarie.

 17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

18 Et il fit ce qui était mauvais à la vue du SEIGNEUR il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jeroboam, le fils de Nebat, lequel avait fait pécher Israël durant tous ses jours.

 18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

19 Et Pul, le roi d’Assyrie, vint contre le pays, et Menahem donna mille talents d’argent à Pul pour que sa main soit avec lui afin d’affermir le royaume en sa main.

 19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

20 Et Menahem extorqua l’argent d’Israël, c’est-à-dire de tous les hommes puissants en richesses, pour le donner au roi d’Assyrie de chacun cinquante shekels d’argent. Ainsi le roi d’Assyrie s’en retourna, et ne resta pas dans le pays.

 20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

21 ¶ Et le reste des actes de Menahem, et tout ce qu’il fit, ne sont-ils pas écrits dans le livre des chroniques des rois d’Israël ?

 21 ¶ And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

22 Et Menahem s’endormit avec ses pères, et Pekahiah, son fils, régna à sa place.

 22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

23 ¶ Durant la cinquantième année d’Azariah, roi de Judah (Juda), Pekahiah, le fils de Menahem, commença à régner sur Israël à Samarie, et il régna deux ans.

 23 ¶ In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.

24 Et il fit ce qui était mauvais à la vue du SEIGNEUR il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jeroboam, le fils de Nebat, lequel avait fait pécher Israël.

 24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

25 Mais Pekah, le fils de Remaliah, un de ses capitaines conspira contre lui et le frappa à Samarie, dans le palais de la maison du roi, avec Argob et Arieh, et avec lui cinquante hommes des Gileadite (Galaadite)s et il le tua, et régna à sa place.

 25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.

26 Et le reste des actes de Pekahiah, et tout ce qu’il fit, voici, ils sont écrits dans le livre des chroniques des rois d’Israël.

 26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 ¶ Durant la cinquante-deuxième année d’Azariah, roi de Judah (Juda), Pekah, le fils de Remaliah commença à régner sur Israël à Samarie, et il régna vingt ans.

 27 ¶ In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.

28 Et il fit ce qui était mauvais à la vue du SEIGNEUR il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jeroboam, le fils de Nebat, lequel avait fait pécher Israël.

 28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

29 Durant les jours de Pekah, roi d’Israël, Tiglathpileser, roi d’Assyrie vint, et prit Ijon, et Abelbethmaachah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead (Galaad), la Galilée, tout le pays de Naphthali, et les emmena captifs en Assyrie.

 29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

30 Et Hoshea, (Osée) le fils d’Elah, fit une conspiration contre Pekah, le fils de Remaliah, et le frappa et le tua, et il régna à sa place, la vingtième année de Jotham, le fils d’Uzziah.

 30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

31 Et le reste des actes de Pekah, et tout ce qu’il fit, voici, ils sont écrits dans le livre de chroniques des rois d’Israël.

 31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 ¶ Durant la seconde année de Pekah, le fils de Remaliah, roi d’Israël, Jotham, fils d’Uzziah, roi de Judah (Juda), commença à régner.

 32 ¶ In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

33 Il était âgé de vingt-cinq ans quand il commença à régner, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Et le nom de sa mère était Jerusha, la fille de Zadok (Tsadok).

 33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

34 Et il fit ce qui était droit à la vue du SEIGNEUR, il fit selon tout ce que son père Uzziah avait fait.

 34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35 ¶ Quoi qu’il en soit les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés ; le peuple sacrifiait et brûlait encore de l’encens dans les hauts lieux. Il bâtit la plus haute porte de la maison du SEIGNEUR.

 35 ¶ Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.

36 ¶ Et le reste des actes de Jotham, et tout ce qu’il fit, ne sont-ils pas écrits dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Judah (Juda) ?

 36 ¶ Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

37 En ces jours-là, le SEIGNEUR commença d’envoyer contre Judah (Juda) Rezin, le roi de Syrie, et Pekah, le fils de Remaliah.

 37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

38 Et Jotham s’endormit avec ses pères, et fut enterré avec ses pères dans la cité de David, son père ; et Ahaz, son fils, régna à sa place.

 38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
