1 Et lorsqu’ils approchèrent de Jérusalem, vers Bethphagé et Béthanie, au mont des Oliviers, il envoya deux de ses disciples,

 1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

2 Et leur dit: Allez au village en face de vous: et dès que vous y serez entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel jamais aucun homme ne s’est assis; détachez-le, et amenez-le.

 2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

3 Et si un homme vous dit: Pourquoi faites-vous cela? Dites que le Seigneur en a besoin, et aussitôt il l’enverra ici.

 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

4 Et ils s’en allèrent, et trouvèrent l’ânon attaché dehors près de la porte, à la croisée de deux chemins; et ils le détachèrent.

 4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

5 Et certains de ceux qui se tenaient là leur dirent: Que faites-vous à détacher l’ânon?

 5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

6 Et ils leur dirent exactement comme Jésus avait commandé: et ils les laissèrent aller.

 6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

7 Et ils amenèrent l’ânon à Jésus, et jetèrent leurs vêtements sur celui-ci; et il s’assit dessus.

 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

8 Et beaucoup étendaient leurs vêtements sur le chemin: et d’autres coupaient les branches des arbres, et les répandaient sur le chemin.

 8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 Et ceux qui allaient devant, et ceux qui suivaient, criaient, disant: Hosanna; Béni soit celui qui vient dans le nom du Seigneur:

 9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

10 Béni soit le royaume de notre père David, qui vient dans le nom du Seigneur: Hosanna dans les lieux les plus hauts.

 10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

11 Et Jésus entra dans Jérusalem, et dans le temple: et après qu’il eut regardé tout autour sur toutes les choses, et comme le soir était déjà venu, il alla vers Béthanie avec les douze.

 11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

12 ¶ Et le lendemain, lorsqu’ils venaient de Béthanie, il eut faim:

 12 ¶ And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

13 Et voyant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il alla voir si peut-être il pouvait y trouver dessus quelque chose: et lorsqu’il y arriva, il ne trouva rien que des feuilles; car ce n’était pas encore la saison des figues.

 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14 Et Jésus répondit et lui dit: Qu’aucun homme désormais ne mange jamais plus de ton fruit. Et ses disciples l’entendirent.

 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

15 ¶ Et ils arrivèrent à Jérusalem: et Jésus entra dans le temple, et commença par chasser ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple, et renversa les tables des changeurs d’argent, et les sièges de ceux qui vendaient des colombes;

 15 ¶ And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;

16 Et il ne laissait aucun homme porter aucun récipient à travers le temple.

 16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

17 Et il enseignait en leur disant: N’est-il pas écrit, Ma maison sera appelée la maison de prière par toutes les nations? mais vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.

 17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

18 Et les scribes et les principaux prêtres l’entendirent, et ils cherchèrent comment ils pourraient le tuer: car ils en avaient peur, parce que tout le peuple était étonné de sa doctrine.

 18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

19 Et quand le soir fut venu, il sortit de la ville.

 19 And when even was come, he went out of the city.

20 ¶ Et le matin, comme ils passaient par là, ils virent le figuier séché depuis les racines.

 20 ¶ And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21 Et Pierre, se souvenant, lui dit: Maître, voici, le figuier que tu as maudit est desséché.

 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

22 Et Jésus, répondant, leur dit: Ayez foi en Dieu.

 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 Car en vérité je vous dis, Que quiconque dira à cette montagne: Sois déplacée, et sois jetée dans la mer; et qui ne doutera pas dans son cœur, mais croira que ces choses qu’il dit arriveront; il aura tout ce qu’il dit.

 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Par conséquent je vous dis: Toutes les choses que vous désirez, lorsque vous priez, croyez que vous les recevez; et vous les aurez.

 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 Et lorsque vous êtes debout priant, pardonnez, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu’un: afin que votre Père aussi qui est au ciel puisse vous pardonner vos infractions.

 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 Mais si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est au ciel ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos infractions.

 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

27 ¶ Et ils vinrent de nouveau à Jérusalem: et comme il marchait dans le temple, les principaux prêtres, les scribes et les anciens viennent à lui,

 27 ¶ And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

28 Et lui disent: Par quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses? et qui t’a donné cette autorité pour faire ces choses?

 28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?

29 Et Jésus répondit et leur dit: Je vous poserai aussi une question, et répondez-moi, et je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

 29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

30 Le baptême de Jean, était-il du ciel, ou des hommes? Répondez-moi.

 30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

31 Et ils raisonnaient entre eux, disant: Si nous disons: Du ciel; il dira: Pourquoi donc ne l’avez-vous pas cru?

 31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 Mais si nous disons: Des hommes; ils craignent le peuple: car tous les hommes considéraient que Jean était en effet un prophète.

 32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.

33 Et ils répondirent et dirent à Jésus: Nous ne pouvons le dire. Et Jésus répondant leur dit: Moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

 33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
