1 Celui qui fait voler en pièces est monté devant ta face garde les munitions, surveille le chemin, renforce tes reins, fortifie extrêmement ton pouvoir.

 1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

2 Car le SEIGNEUR a détourné l’excellence de Jacob comme l’excellence d’Israël, car ceux qui vident les ont vidés et ont ravagé leurs sarments de vignes.

 2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

3 Le bouclier de ses hommes puissants est rendu rouge, les hommes vaillants sont vêtus d’écarlate ; les chariots seront comme des torches enflammées au jour où il se prépare, et les cyprès seront terriblement secoués.

 3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

4 Les chariots s’enrageront dans les rues, ils se précipiteront dans les chemins larges ; ils auront l’apparence de torches, et ils courront comme des éclairs.

 4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

5 Il se souviendra de ses braves ; ils trébucheront dans leur marche ; ils se hâteront vers la muraille, et la contre défense sera toute prête.

 5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

6 Les portes des fleuves seront ouvertes, et le palais sera démoli.

 6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

7 Et Huzzab sera emmenée captive, elle sera transportée, et ses servantes l’accompagneront comme avec la voix de colombes ; frappant leurs poitrines comme un tambour.

 7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

8 Or Ninive est depuis qu’elle existe, comme un étang d’eau ; toutefois ils fuiront. Restez debout, restez debout, criera-t-on ; mais personne ne se retournera.

 8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

9 Prenez le butin d’argent, prenez le butin d’or ; car il n’y a pas de fin à sa provision ni à la gloire de tous ses meubles précieux.

 9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

10 Elle est vide et évacuée, et dévastée ; et le cœur se fond, et les genoux s’entrechoquent, et beaucoup de douleur est dans tous les reins, et tous leurs visages deviendront noirs de crainte.

 10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

11 ¶ Où est maintenant le repaire des lions, et le lieu où mangent les lionceaux, où le lion, et même le vieux lion marchait et les petits du lion, sans que personne ne les effraye ?

 11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion’s whelp, and none made them afraid?

12 Le lion déchirait pour ses petits, et étranglait pour ses lionnes, et remplissait ses tanières de proies, et ses repaires de dépouilles.

 12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

13 Voici, j’en veux à toi, dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, je brûlerai tes chariots en fumée, et l’épée dévorera tes lionceaux ; et je retrancherai de la terre ta proie, et la voix de tes messagers ne sera plus entendue.

 13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
