1 Alors Eliashib, le grand-prêtre, se leva avec ses frères les prêtres, et ils bâtirent la porte des moutons, ils la sanctifièrent, et ils en posèrent les battants ; et ils la sanctifièrent jusqu’à la tour de Meah (Méa), jusqu’à la tour de Hananeel (Hananeël).

 1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.

2 Et à côté de lui les hommes de Jéricho bâtissaient. Et à côté d’eux Zaccur, fils d’Imri, bâtissait.

 2 And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.

3 Et les fils de Hassenaah (Sénaa) bâtirent la porte des poissons ; ils en firent aussi la charpente, et en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les barres.

 3 But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

4 À côté d’eux répara Meremoth, le fils d’Urijah (Urie), fils de Koz (Kots). Et à leurs côtés, répara Meshullam, le fils de Berechiah (Bérékia,), fils de Meshezabeel (Méshézabéel). À côté d’eux, répara Zadok (Tsadok), le fils de Baana.

 4 And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.

5 À côte d’eux, réparèrent les Tekoites ; mais leurs notables ne plièrent pas leur cou à l’ouvrage de leur Seigneur.

 5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.

6 De plus Jehoiada (Jojada) , le fils de Paseah (Paséach), et Meshullam, fils de Besodeiah (Bésodia), réparèrent la vieille porte ; ils en firent la charpente, et en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les barres.

 6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

7 Et à côté d’eux réparèrent Melatiah, le Gibeonite (Gabaonite), Jadon, le Meronothite (Méronothite), les hommes de Gibeon (Gabaon) et de Mizpah (Mitspa) vers le trône du gouverneur de ce côté du fleuve.

 7 And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.

8 À côté d’eux répara Uzziel, le fils de Harhaiah, un des orfèvres. À côté de lui répara Hananiah, le fils d’un des apothicaires ; et ils fortifièrent Jérusalem jusqu’à la large muraille.

 8 Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.

9 Et à côté d’eux répara Rephaiah, le fils de Hur, le dirigeant de la moitié de Jérusalem.

 9 And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.

10 Et à côté d’eux répara Jedaiah, le fils de Harumaph, en face de sa maison. Et à côté de lui répara Hattush, le fils de Hashabniah (Hashabnia)

 10 And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.

11 Malchijah, le fils de Harim, et Hashub, le fils de Pahathmoab Pachath‑Moab), réparèrent une autre portion, et la tour des fours.

 11 Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahathmoab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.

12 Et à côté de lui, Shallum, le fils de Halohesh, dirigeant d’e la moitié d’un quartier de Jérusalem, répara, lui et ses filles.

 12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

13 Hanun et les habitants de Zanoah réparèrent la porte de la vallée ; ils la bâtirent, et posèrent ses battants, ses verrous et ses barres, ainsi que mille coudées de muraille, jusqu’à la porte des excréments

 13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.

14 Et Malchijah (Malkija), le fils de Rechab (Récab), dirigeant du quartier de Bethhaccerem (Beth-Hakkérem), répara la porte des excréments ; il la bâtit, et posa ses battants, ses verrous et ses barres.

 14 But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Bethhaccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

15 Et Shallun, le fils de Colhozeh (Col-Hozé), dirigeant du quartier de Mizpah (Mitspa), répara la porte de la fontaine ; il la bâtit, et la couvrit, et posa ses battants, ses verrous et ses barres, ainsi que le mur de l’étang de Siloah, près du jardin du roi, et jusqu’aux marches qui descendent de la cité de David.

 15 But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.

16 Après lui, Nehemiah (Nehemiah (Néhémie)), le fils d’ Azbuk, le dirigeant du demi quartier de Bethzur (Beth-Tsur), répara jusqu’à l’endroit face aux sépulcres de David, et jusqu’à l’étang qui avait été construit, et jusqu’à la maison des hommes puissants.

 16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.

17 Après lui réparèrent les Lévites, Rehum, le fils de Bani ; à côté de lui Hashabiah, le dirigeant du demi quartier de Keilah (Kéïla), répara pour son quartier.

 17 After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.

18 Après lui, réparèrent leurs frères, Bavai, le fils de Henadad, dirigeant d’un demi quartier de Keilah ;

 18 After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.

19 Et à son côté Ezer, le fils de Jeshua, le dirigeant de Mizpah (Mitspa), répara une autre portion, face à la montée de l’arsenal, à l’encoignure de la muraille.

 19 And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.

20 Après lui, Baruch (Baruc), le fils de Zabbai, répara avec empressement une autre portion, depuis l’encoignure de la muraille jusqu’à l’entrée de la maison d’Eliashib, le grand-prêtre.

 20 After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

21 Après lui, Meremoth, le fils d’Urijah (Urie), fils de Koz (Kots), répara une autre portion, depuis l’entrée de la maison d’Eliashib jusqu’à l’extrémité de la maison d’Eliashib.

 21 After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.

22 Après lui réparèrent les prêtres, hommes de la plaine.

 22 And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.

23 Après lui, Benjamin et Hashub réparèrent en face de leur maison. Après eux, Azariah (Azaria), le fils de Maaseiah, fils d’Ananiah ('Anania,), répara près de sa maison.

 23 After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.

24 Après lui, Binnui le fils de Henadad, répara une autre portion, depuis la maison d’Azariah jusqu’à l’encoignure de la muraille, même jusqu’au coin.

 24 After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.

25 Palal, le fils d’Uzai, depuis l’encoignure de la muraille et de la tour saillante de la haute maison du roi, qui est près de la cour de la prison. Après lui, Pedaiah, le fils de Pharosh (Parosh),

 25 Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.

26 De plus les Nethinims, (Nethiniens) qui demeuraient en Ophel jusqu’à l’endroit face à la porte des eaux vers l’Est, et de la tour saillante.

 26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.

27 Après eux, les Tekoites (Thékoïtes) réparèrent une autre portion, face à la grande tour saillante jusqu’à la muraille d’Ophel.

 27 After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.

28 Au-dessus de la porte des chevaux, les prêtres réparèrent, chacun face à sa maison.

 28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.

29 Après eux, Zadok (Tsadok), le fils d’Immer, répara face à sa maison. Après lui, répara Shemaiah (Shemahia), le fils de Shechaniah (Shecania), gardien de la porte est.

 29 After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.

30 Après lui, Hananiah (Hanania), le fils de Shelemiah (Shélémia), et Hanun, le sixième fils de Zalaph (Tsalaph), réparèrent une autre portion. Après eux, Meshullam, le fils de Berechiah (Bérékia), répara en face de sa chambre.

 30 After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.

31 Après lui, Malchijah (Malkija), le fils de l’orfèvre, répara jusqu’à l’endroit des Nethinims et des marchands, en face de la porte de Miphkad (Miphkad), et jusqu’à la montée du coin.

 31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.

32 Et les orfèvres et les marchands réparèrent entre la montée du coin et la porte des moutons.

 32 And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
