1 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse disant:

 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Commande aux enfants d’Israël qu’ils mettent hors du camp tout lépreux, et quiconque a un écoulement et quiconque est souillé par un mort.

 2 Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

3 Tant homme que femme, vous les mettrez dehors, hors du camp, vous les mettrez afin qu’ils ne souillent pas leurs camps, au milieu desquels je demeure.

 3 Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.

4 Et les enfants d’Israël firent ainsi, et les mirent hors du camp ; comme le SEIGNEUR avait parlé à Moïse, ainsi firent les enfants d’Israël.

 4 And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.

5 ¶ Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse disant:

 5 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

6 Parle aux enfants d’Israël : Lorsqu’un homme ou une femme a commis quelque péché que les hommes commettent, enfreignant le SEIGNEUR, et que cette personne est coupable,

 6 Speak unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be guilty;

7 Alors ils confesseront leur péché qu’ils ont commis, et il le coupable restituera sa transgression avec son principal, et il y ajoutera un cinquième, et le donnera à celui envers lequel il a transgressé.

 7 Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.

8 Mais si l’homme n’a aucun proche parent à qui restituer la transgression, que la transgression soit restituée au SEIGNEUR, savoir au prêtre, en plus du bélier d’une expiation, avec lequel on fera une expiation pour lui.

 8 But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest; beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.

9 Et toute offrande, de toutes les choses saintes des enfants d’Israël qu’ils présenteront au prêtre, sera à lui.

 9 And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.

10 Les choses sanctifiées de chacun seront à lui ; ce que chacun donnera au prêtre sera à lui.

 10 And every man’s hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth the priest, it shall be his.

11 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse disant :

 11 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

12 Parle aux enfants d’Israël, et dis-leur : Si la femme de quelqu’un se détourne et commet une transgression contre lui,

 12 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man’s wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him,

13 Et qu’un homme couche charnellement avec elle, et que cela soit caché aux yeux de son mari, et qu’elle se soit cachée, et qu’elle soit souillée, et qu’il n’y ait aucun témoin contre elle, et qu’elle n’ait pas été prise en faute ;

 13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken with the manner;

14 Et que l’esprit de jalousie vienne sur lui, et qu’il soit jaloux de sa femme, et qu’elle soit souillée, ou si l’esprit de jalousie vienne sur lui, et qu’il soit jaloux de sa femme, et qu’elle ne soit pas souillée,

 14 And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled:

15 Alors l’homme amènera sa femme devant le prêtre, et il apportera pour elle son offrande, la dixième partie d’un épha de farine d’orge ; il ne versera pas d’huile dessus, et n’y mettra pas d’encens, car c’est une offrande de jalousie, une offrande de mémorial, mettant en mémoire l’iniquité.

 15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

16 Et le prêtre la fera approcher, et la placera devant le SEIGNEUR.

 16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:

17 Et le prêtre prendra de l’eau sainte, dans un récipient de terre ; et le prêtre prendra de la poussière qui sera sur le sol du tabernacle, et la mettra dans l’eau.

 17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:

18 Puis le prêtre placera la femme debout devant le SEIGNEUR, et découvrira la tête de la femme, et mettra dans ses mains l’offrande de mémorial, qui est l’offrande de jalousie ; et le prêtre aura dans sa main l’eau amère qui cause la malédiction.

 18 And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:

19 Et le prêtre la chargera par serment, et dira à la femme. Si aucun homme n’a couché avec toi, et si tu ne t’es pas détournée et rendue souillée avec un autre que ton mari, soit exempte de cette eau amère qui cause la malédiction.

 19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:

20 Mais si tu t’es détournée en étant avec un autre que ton mari, et que tu te sois souillée, et que quelque autre que ton mari ait couché avec toi,

 20 But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:

21 Alors le prêtre chargera la femme, par un serment de malédiction, et le prêtre dira à la femme. Que le SEIGNEUR te fasse être une malédiction et un serment au milieu de ton peuple, quand le SEIGNEUR fera pourrir ta cuisse et enfler ton ventre,

 21 Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;

22 Et cette eau qui cause la malédiction entrera dans tes entrailles, pour faire enfler ton ventre et pourrir ta cuisse. Et la femme dira. Amen, amen.

 22 And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

23 Et le prêtre écrira ces malédictions dans un livre, et il les effacera avec l’eau amère.

 23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:

24 Et il fera boire à la femme l’eau amère qui cause la malédiction ; et l’eau qui cause la malédiction entrera en elle et deviendra amère.

 24 And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.

25 Alors le prêtre prendra de la main de la femme l’offrande de jalousie et tournoiera l’offrande devant le SEIGNEUR, et l’offrira sur l’autel.

 25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman’s hand, and shall wave the offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar:

26 Et le prêtre prendra une poignée de l’offrande, savoir, pour mémorial, et la brûlera sur l’autel ; et ensuite il fera boire l’eau à la femme.

 26 And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.

27 Et après qu’il lui aura fait boire l’eau, il arrivera que si elle s’est souillée et qu’elle ait transgressé contre son mari, l’eau qui cause la malédiction entrera en elle et deviendra amère ; et son ventre enflera, et sa cuisse pourrira, et la femme sera une malédiction au milieu de son peuple.

 27 And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.

28 Et si la femme ne s’est pas souillée, mais qu’elle soit pure, alors elle sera exempte, et concevra semence.

 28 And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.

29 Celle-ci est la loi des jalousies, lorsqu’une femme se détourne vers un autre que son mari, et s’est souillée ;

 29 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;

30 Ou quand l’esprit de jalousie vient sur le mari, et qu’il est jaloux de sa femme ; il placera la femme devant le SEIGNEUR, et le prêtre exécutera sur elle toute cette loi.

 30 Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

31 Alors l’homme sera innocent de son iniquité, et cette femme portera son iniquité.

 31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.
