1 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse disant:

 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Fais-toi deux trompettes d’argent ; tu les feras d’une seule pièce ; afin que tu puisses les utiliser pour la convocation de la congrégation, et pour le voyage des camps.

 2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

3 Quand on en sonnera, toute la congrégation s’assemblera vers toi, à l’entrée du tabernacle de la congrégation.

 3 And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 Et si l’on sonne d’une seule trompette, alors les princes, qui sont les chefs des milliers d’Israël, se réuniront vers toi.

 4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

5 Quand vous sonnerez l’alarme, alors les camps qui sont à l’est partiront.

 5 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

6 Et quand vous sonnerez l’alarme une seconde fois, les camps qui sont au Sud partiront ; on sonnera l’alarme pour leurs départs.

 6 When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

7 Mais quand on voudra réunir la congrégation, vous sonnerez, mais vous ne sonnerez pas l’alarme.

 7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

8 Et les fils d’Aaron, les prêtres, sonneront des trompettes ; et elles seront pour vous une ordonnance pour toujours à travers vos générations.

 8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

9 Et si vous allez à la guerre dans votre pays contre l’ennemi qui vous oppressera, alors vous sonnerez l’alarme avec les trompettes, et le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu se souviendra de vous, et vous serez sauvés de vos ennemis.

 9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 Aussi au jour de votre réjouissance, et en vos jours solennels, et au commencement de vos mois, vous sonnerez des trompettes sur vos offrandes consumées, et sur vos sacrifices d’offrandes de paix, afin qu’elles puissent être pour un mémorial devant votre Dieu : Je suis le SEIGNEUR, votre Dieu.

 10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

11 ¶ Et il arriva, le vingtième jour du second mois de la seconde année, que le nuage se leva de dessus le tabernacle du témoignage.

 11 ¶ And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

12 Et les enfants d’Israël partirent du désert de Sinaï, et le nuage s’arrêta dans le désert de Paran.

 12 And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

13 Et ils partirent, pour la première fois, selon le commandement du SEIGNEUR, par la main de Moïse.

 13 And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

14 ¶ En première place partit l’étendard du camp des enfants de Judah (Juda), selon leurs armées ; et sur son armée était Nahshon, le fils d’Amminadab.

 14 ¶ In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

15 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants d’Issachar (Issacar) était Nethaneel (Nathanaël), le fils de Zuar (Tsuar).

 15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

16 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants de Zebulun (Zabulon) était Eliab, le fils de Helon.

 16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

17 Et le tabernacle fut démonté et les fils de Gershon (Guershon) et les fils de Merari avancèrent, portant le tabernacle.

 17 And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.

18 ¶ Et l’étendard du camp de Reuben (Ruben) partit, selon leurs armées ; et sur leur armée était Elizur (Elitsur), le fils de Shedeur.

 18 ¶ And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

19 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants de Simeon (Siméon) était Shelumiel, le fils de Zurishaddai (Tsurishaddaï).

 19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

20 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants de Gad était Eliasaph, le fils de Deuel.

 20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

21 Et les Kohath (Kéhathites), avancèrent, portant le sanctuaire ; et les autres dressaient le tabernacle, en attendant leur arrivée.

 21 And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.

22 ¶ Et l’étendard du camp des enfants d’Ephraim (Éphraïm) partit, selon leurs armées ; et sur son armée était Elishama, le fils d’Ammihud.

 22 ¶ And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

23 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants de Manaseh (Mannasé) était Gamaliel, le fils de Pedahzur (Pedahtsur).

 23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

24 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants de Benjamin était Abidan, le fils de Gideoni (Guidéoni).

 24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

25 ¶ Et l’étendard du camp des enfants de Dan avança, il était à l’arrière-garde de tous les camps, de part en part de leurs armées ; et sur son armée était Ahiezer, le fils d’Ammishaddai.

25 ¶ And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

26 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants d’Asher (Asser) était Pagiel (Paguiel), le fils d’Ocran.

 26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.

27 Et sur l’armée de la tribu des enfants de Naphtali (Nephtali) était Ahira, le fils d’Enan.

 27 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

28 Tels étaient les voyages des enfants d’Israël, selon leurs armées ; quand ils partaient.

 28 Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

29 ¶ Et, Moïse dit à Hobab, le fils de Raguel, le Midianite, beau-père de Moïse : Nous sommes en partance pour le lieu dont le SEIGNEUR a dit : Je vous le donnerai ; viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien ; car le SEIGNEUR a parlé en bien concernant Israël.

 29 ¶ And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.

30 Et il Hobab lui dit : Je n’irai pas, mais j’irai dans mon pays, et vers ma parenté.

 30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

31 Et il Moïse lui dit : Je te prie, ne nous laisse pas ; puisque tu connais où nous pourrons camper dans le désert, tu nous serviras d’yeux.

 31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

32 Et il arrivera, si tu viens avec nous, oui, il arrivera que le bien que le SEIGNEUR nous fera, nous te ferons la pareille.

 32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

33 ¶ Et ils partirent du mont du SEIGNEUR, le chemin de trois jours ; et l’arche de l’alliance du SEIGNEUR allait devant eux, espacée de trois jours de chemin, pour leur chercher un lieu de repos.

 33 ¶ And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.

34 Et le nuage du SEIGNEUR était sur eux pendant le jour, quand ils partaient du camp.

 34 And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 Et il arrivait quand l’arche avançait, que Moïse disait : Lève-toi, SEIGNEUR, et que tes ennemis soient dispersés, et que ceux qui te haïssent s’enfuient devant toi.

 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 Et quand elle se reposait, il disait : Reviens, ô SEIGNEUR, aux nombreux milliers d’Israël.

 36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel.
