 To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David.

1 Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m’as-tu abandonné? Pourquoi es-tu si loin de me secourir, et des paroles de mon rugissement?

 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 Ô mon Dieu, je crie pendant le jour, mais tu n’entends pas; et pendant la nuit, et je ne suis pas silencieux.

 2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

3 Mais tu es saint, ô toi qui habites les louanges d’Israël.

 3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 Nos pères se confièrent en toi: ils se confièrent, et tu les délivras.

 4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

5 Ils crièrent vers toi, et furent délivrés: ils se confièrent en toi, et ne furent pas déconcertés.

 5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

6 Mais je suis un ver, et non un homme; la honte des hommes et méprisé du peuple.

 6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7 Tous ceux qui me voient se rient de moi: ils dardent la lèvre, ils secouent la tête, disant:

 7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 Il fit confiance au SEIGNEUR, de ce qu’il le délivrerait: qu’il le délivre, puisqu’il se délectait en lui.

 8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

9 Mais tu es celui qui me tira de l’utérus de ma mère: tu me fis ’espérer lorsque j’étais sur les seins de ma mère.

 9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

10 Je fus jeté sur toi depuis l’utérus: tu es mon Dieu depuis le ventre de ma mère.

 10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.

11 Ne sois pas loin de moi; car la difficulté est proche; car il n’y a personne pour secourir.

 11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

12 Beaucoup de taureaux m’ont encerclé: de vigoureux taureaux de Bashan m’ont cerné.

 12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 Ils ouvrent grand leur gueule vers moi, comme un lion vorace et rugissant.

 13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 Je suis répandu comme de l’eau, et tous mes os sont disjoints: mon cœur est comme la cire; il se fond parmi mes entrailles.

 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15 Ma vigueur est desséchée comme un tesson; et ma langue s’attache à mes mâchoires; et tu m’as emmené dans la poussière de la mort.

 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 Car des chiens m’ont encerclé, l’assemblée d’hommes immoraux m’a entouré: ils percèrent mes mains et mes pieds.

 16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 Je peux compter tous mes os: ils me regardent et me dévisagent.

 17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18 Ils partagent mes vêtements entre eux, et tirent au sort ma vesture.

 18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

19 Mais ne sois pas loin de moi, ô SEIGNEUR: ô ma vigueur, hâte-toi de me secourir.

 19 But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

20 Délivre mon âme de l’épée; mon cher bien-aimé du pouvoir du chien.

 20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

21 Sauve-moi de la gueule du lion: car tu m’as entendu depuis les cornes des licornes.

 21 Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 Je déclarerai ton nom à mes frères: au milieu de la congrégation te louerai-je.

 22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 Vous qui craignez le SEIGNEUR, louez-le; vous toute la semence de Jacob, glorifiez-le; et craignez-le, vous toute la semence d’Israël.

 23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 Car il n’a pas méprisé ni abhorré l’affliction de l’affligé; ni ne lui a caché son visage; mais lorsqu’il cria vers lui, il entendit.

 24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 Ma louange sera à propos de toi dans la grande congrégation: j’accomplirai mes vœux devant ceux qui le craignent.

 25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 Les dociles mangeront et seront rassasiés: ils loueront le SEIGNEUR ceux qui le cherchent: votre cœur vivra pour toujours.

 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

27 Tous les bouts du monde se souviendront et se tourneront vers le SEIGNEUR: et toutes les parentés des nations adoreront devant toi.

 27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 Car le royaume est au SEIGNEUR: et il est le gouverneur parmi les nations.

 28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations.

29 Tous ceux qui sont gras sur la terre mangeront et adoreront: tous ceux qui descendent vers la poussière se courberont devant lui: et personne ne peut garder en vie sa propre âme.

 29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 Une semence le servira; elle sera comptée au Seigneur pour une génération.

 30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 Ils viendront, et déclareront sa droiture à un peuple qui naîtra, qu’il a fait cela.

 31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
