To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

1 En Judah, Dieu est connu: son nom est grand en Israël.
|
1 In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
|
2 En Salem aussi est son tabernacle, et sa demeure en Sion.
|
2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
|
3 Là, il brisa les flèches de l’arc, l’écu, et l’épée, et la bataille. Selah.
|
3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.
|
4 Tu es plus glorieux et excellent que les montagnes de proie.
|
4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
|
5 Les intrépides sont dépouillés, ils ont dormi leur sommeil: et aucun des hommes puissants n’a trouvé leurs mains.
|
5 The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
|
6 À ta répréhension, ô Dieu de Jacob, aussi bien le chariot que le cheval sont jetés dans un sommeil mortel.
|
6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
|
7 Toi, c’est-à-dire toi, tu es à craindre: et qui peut tenir devant tes yeux, quand tu es en colère?
|
7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
|
8 Tu fis entendre le jugement depuis le ciel; la terre craignit et fut tranquille,
|
8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
|
9 Lorsque Dieu se leva pour faire jugement, pour sauver tous les dociles de la terre. Selah.
|
9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
|
10 Assurément le courroux de l’homme te louera: le reste du courroux retiendras-tu.
|
10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
|
11 Vouez, et acquittez-vous envers le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu; que tous ceux qui sont autour de lui, apportent des dons à celui qui doit être craint.
|
11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
|
12 Il retranchera l’esprit des princes; il est redoutable pour les rois de la terre.
|
12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
