1 Et je me tournai, et levai mes yeux, et regardai ; et voici, quatre chariots qui venaient d’entre deux montagnes ; et les montagnes étaient des montagnes de cuivre.

 1 And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.

2 Au premier chariot il y avait des chevaux roux ; au second chariot, des chevaux noirs ;

 2 In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

3 Au troisième chariot, des chevaux blancs ; au quatrième chariot, des chevaux cendrés et bais

 3 And in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

4 Alors je répondis, et dis à l’ange qui me parlait : Que sont ceux-ci, mon seigneur ?

 4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

5 Et l’ange répondit et me dit : Ce sont les quatre esprits des cieux, qui sortent d’où ils se tenaient devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.

 5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

6 Les chevaux noirs qui sont à l’un des chariots, sortent vers le pays du Nord, et les blancs sortent après eux, et les cendrés sortent vers le pays du Sud.

 6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country.

7 Et les bais sortirent, et cherchèrent à aller afin de marcher ça et là, à travers la terre. Et il leur dit : Allez-y, marchez çà et là, sur la terre. Et ils marchèrent çà et là, sur la terre.

 7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

8 Puis il me cria, et me parla, disant : Voici, ceux qui sortent vers le pays du Nord ont apaisé mon esprit dans le pays du Nord.

 8 Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

9 ¶ Et la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à moi, disant :

 9 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

10 Prends de ceux de la captivité, à savoir de Heldai, de Tobijah et de Jedaiah, qui sont venus de Babylone ; et viens, toi, en ce même jour, et entre dans la maison de Josiah (Josias), le fils de Zephaniah (Sophonie) ;

 10 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

11 Et prends de l’argent et de l’or, et fais-en des couronnes, et mets-les sur la tête de Joshua (Josué), le fils de Josedech (Jotsadak), le grand prêtre.

 11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

12 Et parle-lui en disant : Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Voici l’homme dont le nom est : La BRANCHE, et il germera de son lieu et il bâtira le temple du SEIGNEUR.

 12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:

13 Oui, lui-même bâtira le temple du SEIGNEUR ; et il portera la gloire, et s’assiéra et régnera sur son trône ; et il sera prêtre sur son trône, et le conseil de paix sera entre les deux.

 13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

14 Et les couronnes seront pour Helem, pour Tobijah (Tobia), pour Jedaiah (Jédahïa) et pour Hen, le fils de Zephaniah (Sophonie), pour mémorial dans le temple du SEIGNEUR.

 14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.

15 Et ceux qui sont loin viendront, et bâtiront au temple du SEIGNEUR ; et vous saurez que le SEIGNEUR des armées m’a envoyé vers vous. Et cela arrivera si vous obéissez diligemment la voix du SEIGNEUR votre Dieu.

 15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
