1 De nouveau la parole du SEIGNEUR des armées vint à moi, en disant :

 1 Again the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying,

2 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : J’ai été jaloux pour Sion d’une grande jalousie, et j’ai été jaloux pour elle d’une grande fureur.

 2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.

3 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : Je suis retourné à Sion, et je demeurerai au milieu de Jérusalem ; et Jérusalem sera appelée la ville de vérité, et la montagne du SEIGNEUR des armées, la sainte montagne.

 3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.

4 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Il y demeurera encore des hommes âgés et des femmes âgées dans les rues de Jérusalem, et chacun son bâton à la main, à cause de son grand âge.

 4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

5 Et les rues de la ville seront remplies de jeunes garçons et filles jouant dans ses rues.

 5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

6 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Si cela semble admirable aux yeux du reste de ce peuple en ces jours-là, serait-ce aussi admirable à mes yeux ? dit le SEIGNEUR des armées.

 6 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.

7 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Voici, je sauverai mon peuple du pays de l’Est, et du pays de l’Ouest.

 7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

8 Et je les amènerai, et ils demeureront au milieu de Jérusalem ; et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu, en vérité et en rectitude.

 8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

9 ¶ Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Que vos mains soient fortes, vous qui entendez en ces jours-ci ces paroles de la bouche des prophètes, qui ont été depuis le jour où la fondation de la maison du SEIGNEUR des armées a été posée, afin que son temple puisse être bâti.

 9 ¶ Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

10 Car, avant ces jours-là, il n’y avait pas de salaire pour l’homme, ni de salaire pour les bêtes ; et il n’y avait pas de paix pour celui qui sortait ou qui entrait à cause de l’affliction, car j’envoyais tous les hommes, chacun contre son voisin.

 10 For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.

11 Mais maintenant je ne serai pas pour le reste de ce peuple comme aux premiers jours, dit le SEIGNEUR des armées.

 11 But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.

12 Car la semence prospérera, la vigne rendra son fruit ; et le sol donnera son produit ; les cieux donneront leur rosée, et je ferai que le reste de ce peuple possède de toutes ces choses.

 12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

13 Et il arrivera que, comme vous étiez une malédiction parmi les nations, ô maison de Judah et maison d’Israël, ainsi je vous sauverai, et vous serez une bénédiction. Ne craignez pas, mais que vos mains soient fortes.

 13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.

14 Car ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Comme j’ai pensé de vous punir, quand vos pères ont provoqué ma colère, dit le SEIGNEUR des armées, et que je ne m’en suis pas repenti,

 14 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not:

15 Ainsi j’ai pensé de nouveau, en ces jours-ci, de faire du bien à Jérusalem et à la maison de Judah. Ne craignez pas.

 15 So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.

16 ¶ Ce sont ici les choses que vous ferez : Parlez la vérité chacun à son voisin ; exécutez le jugement de vérité et de paix dans vos portes,

 16 ¶ These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

17 Et ne laissez personne parmi vous méditer dans vos cœurs le mal contre son voisin, et n’aimez pas le faux serment, car toutes sont ces choses que je hais, dit le SEIGNEUR.

 17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.

18 ¶ Et la parole du SEIGNEUR des armées vint à moi, en disant :

 18 ¶ And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me, saying,

19 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Le jeûne du quatrième mois, et le jeûne du cinquième, et le jeûne du septième, et le jeûne du dixième, seront pour la maison de Judah joie et allégresse, et des fêtes heureuses. C’est pourquoi aimez vérité et paix.

 19 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

20 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : Il arrivera encore, que viendront des peuples et des habitants de beaucoup de villes ;

 20 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:

21 Et les habitants d’une ville iront à l’autre, disant : Allons promptement prier devant le SEIGNEUR, et rechercher le SEIGNEUR des armées ; j’irai aussi.

 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.

22 Oui, beaucoup de peuples et de puissantes nations viendront chercher le SEIGNEUR des armées à Jérusalem, et prier devant le SEIGNEUR.

 22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.

23 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR des armées : En ces jours-là, il arrivera, que dix hommes de toutes les langues des nations saisiront le pan de la robe de celui qui est Juif, disant : Nous irons avec vous, car nous avons entendu que Dieu est avec vous.

 23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
