1 Ouvre tes portes, ô Liban, que le feu puisse dévorer tes cèdres.

 1 Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

2 Hurle, sapin ; car le cèdre est tombé, parce que les puissants sont dévastés ; hurlez, ô vous chênes de Bashan (Basan) car la forêt de vendange est coupée.

 2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

3 ¶ Il y a une voix de hurlement des bergers, Car leur gloire est dévastée ; une voix de rugissement des lionceaux, Car l’orgueil du Jourdain est dévasté.

 3 ¶ There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

4 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : mon Dieu Nourris le troupeau destiné à la abattoir,

 4 Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

5 Que leurs possesseurs tuent, sans qu’ils se tiennent pour coupables, et ceux qui les vendent Béni soit le SEIGNEUR, car je suis riche et leurs propres bergers n’ont pas pitié d’eux.

 5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

6 Car je n’aurai plus pitié des habitants du pays, dit le SEIGNEUR car voici, je livrerai les hommes chacun en la main de son voisin, et en la main de son roi ; et ils frapperont le pays, et je ne les délivrerai pas de leur main.

 6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

7 Et je nourrirai le troupeau destiné à la boucherie, c’est-à-dire ô vous les plus pauvres du troupeau. Et je pris deux houlettes dont j’appelai l’une Beauté, et l’autre Liens, et je nourrissais le troupeau.

 7 And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

8 Et je retranchai trois bergers en un seul mois ; et mon âme était dégoûtée d’eux, et leur âme aussi m’avait en horreur.

 8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

9 Et je dis : Je ne vous nourrirai plus ; que ce qui meure, meure ; que ce qui doit être retranché, soit retranché, et que le reste dévore chacune la chair l’une de l’autre.

 9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

10 ¶ Et je pris ma houlette, à savoir Beauté, et je la brisai en deux, afin que je rompe mon alliance que j’avais traitée avec tous les peuples.

 10 ¶ And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

11 Elle fut rompue en ce jour-là, et ainsi les plus pauvres du troupeau, qui prenaient garde à moi, reconnurent que c’était la parole du SEIGNEUR.

 11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

12 Et je leur dis : Si cela vous semble bon, donnez-moi mon prix ; sinon, abstenez-vous. Ainsi ils pesèrent pour mon prixtrente pièces d’argent.

 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

13 Et le SEIGNEUR me dit : Jette-le au potier : un prix attrayant auquel j’ai été estimé par eux Et je pris les trente pièces d’argent, et les jetai au potier, dans la maison du SEIGNEUR.

 13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

14 Puis je brisai en deux ma seconde houlette, à savoir : Liens, afin que je puisse rompe la fraternité entre Judah (Juda) et Israël.

 14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15 ¶ Puis le SEIGNEUR me dit : Prends-toi encore les instruments d’un berger insensé.

 15 ¶ And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

16 Car voici, je vais susciter dans le pays un berger qui ne visitera pas celles qui seront retranchées, qui ne cherchera pas le jeune agneau, qui ne guérira pas ce qui est blessé, ni ne nourrira ce qui est debout ; mais il mangera la chair du gras de l’agneau, et arrachera leurs cornes en morceaux.

 16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

17 Malheur au vain berger, qui abandonne le troupeau ! L’épée sera sur son bras et sur son oeil droit ; son bras sera desséché certainement, et son œil droit sera entièrement obscurci.

 17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
