1 Et lorsque le jour de la Pentecôte fut pleinement venu, ils étaient tous d’un commun accord dans un même lieu.

 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 Et soudainement il vint un son du ciel semblable à celui d’un vent impétueux et puissant, et il remplit toute la maison où ils étaient assis.

 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 Et il leur apparut des langues fendues pareilles à du feu, et il se posa sur chacun d’eux.

 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 Et ils furent tous remplis de l’Esprit Saint, et commencèrent à parler en d’autres langues, selon que l’Esprit leur donnait l’élocution.

 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5 Et il y avait demeurant à Jérusalem des Juifs, des hommes dévots, de chaque nation qui est sous le ciel.

 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Or lorsque ce bruit se répandit de tous côtés, la multitude s’assembla, et fut décontenancée, parce que chaque homme les entendait parler dans sa propre langue.

 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

7 Et ils étaient tous stupéfaits et surpris, se disant les uns aux autres: Voici, tous ceux qui parlent, ne sont-ils pas Galiléens?

 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilæans?

8 Et comment entendons-nous chaque homme dans notre propre langue, dans laquelle nous sommes nés?

 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

9 Parthes, et Mèdes, et Élamites, et ceux qui demeurent en Mésopotamie, et en Judée, et Cappadoce, dans le Pont et l’Asie,

 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judæa, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

10 La Phrygie, et Pamphylie, en Égypte, et dans les quartiers de la Libye près de Cyrène, et les étrangers de Rome, Juifs et prosélytes,

 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11 Crétois et Arabes, nous les entendons parler dans nos langues des œuvres merveilleuses de Dieu.

 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

12 Et ils étaient tous stupéfaits, et étaient dans le doute, se disant l’un à l’autre: Que veut dire ceci?

 12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

13 D’autres se moquant, disaient: Ces hommes sont remplis de vin nouveau.

 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 ¶ Mais Pierre, se tenant debout avec les onze éleva sa voix, et leur dit: Vous, hommes de Judée, et vous tous qui demeurez à Jérusalem, sachez ceci, et prêtiez l’oreille à mes paroles:

 14 ¶ But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judæa, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 Car ceux-ci ne sont pas ivres, comme vous le supposez, voyant que ce n’est que la troisième heure du jour.

 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 Mais c’est ce qui a été dit par le prophète Joël;

 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 Et il arrivera aux derniers jours, dit Dieu, que je répandrai de mon Esprit sur toute chair: et vos fils et vos filles prophétiseront, et vos jeunes hommes auront des visions, et vos hommes âgés rêveront des rêves:

 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 Et sur mes serviteurs et sur mes suivantes je répandrai en ces jours-là, de mon Esprit; et ils prophétiseront:

 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 Et je montrerai des prodiges en haut au ciel, et des signes en bas sur la terre; du sang et du feu, et une vapeur de fumée:

 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 Le soleil sera changé en obscurité, et la lune en sang, avant que ce grand et notable jour du Seigneur vienne:

 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 Et il arrivera que quiconque fera appel au nom du Seigneur, sera sauvé.

 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 Vous, hommes d’Israël, entendez ces paroles; Jésus de Nazareth, un homme approuvé de Dieu parmi vous par des miracles et prodiges et signes, lesquels Dieu fit par lui au milieu de vous, comme vous-mêmes le savez aussi:

 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Lui, ayant été livré par le conseil déterminé et la prescience de Dieu, vous l’avez pris, et par des mains immorales, l’avez crucifié et tué:

 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Lequel Dieu ressuscita, ayant délié les douleurs de la mort: parce qu’il n’était pas possible qu’il fût retenu par elle.

 24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

25 Car David dit le concernant, Je voyais d’avance le Seigneur toujours devant ma face, car il est à ma main droite, afin que je ne sois pas agité:

 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

26 Par conséquent mon cœur s’est réjoui, et ma langue était contente; de plus ma chair aussi reposera en espérance:

 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

27 Parce que tu ne laisseras pas mon âme en enfer, et que tu ne permettras pas non plus que ton Seul Saint voie la corruption.

 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

28 Tu m’as fait connaître les chemins de la vie; tu me rempliras de joie par ta figure.

 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

29 Hommes et frères, laissez-moi vous parler librement du patriarche David, qu’il est à la fois mort, et enterré, et son sépulcre est parmi nous jusqu’à ce jour.

 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

30 Par conséquent étant un prophète, et sachant que Dieu lui avait juré par un serment, que du fruit de ses flancs;, selon la chair, il susciterait Christ pour l’asseoir sur son trône;

 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

31 Lui voyant cela d’avance parla de la résurrection de Christ, que son âme n’a pas été laissée en enfer, ni sa chair n’a vu la corruption.

 31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 Ce Jésus Dieu l’a ressuscité, ce dont nous sommes tous témoins.

 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Par conséquent étant exalté par la main droite de Dieu, et ayant reçu du Père la promesse de l’Esprit Saint, il a versé ce que maintenant vous voyez et entendez.

 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 Car David n’est pas monté dans les cieux: mais il dit lui-même, Le SEIGNEUR a dit à mon Seigneur, Assieds-toi à ma main droite,

 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Jusqu’à ce que je fasse de tes adversaires ton marchepied.

 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36 Par conséquent que toute la maison d’Israël sache assurément, que Dieu a fait ce même Jésus que vous avez crucifié, à la fois Seigneur et Christ.

 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 ¶ Or lorsqu’ils entendirent cela, ils furent piqués en leur cœur, et dirent à Pierre et au reste des apôtres, Hommes et frères, que ferons-nous?

 37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Alors Pierre leur dit: Repentez-vous, et soyez baptisés chacun de vous dans le nom de Jésus Christ pour la rémission des péchés, et vous recevrez le don de l’Esprit Saint.

 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 Car la promesse est à vous et à vos enfants, et à tous ceux qui sont loin, c’est-à-dire tous ceux que le Seigneur notre Dieu appellera.

 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 Et par beaucoup d’autres paroles il témoignait et exhortait, disant: Sauvez-vous de cette génération réfractaire.

 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 ¶ Alors ceux qui reçurent volontiers sa parole furent baptisés: et ce jour-là il leur fut ajouté environ trois mille âmes.

 41 ¶ Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 Et ils continuaient fermement dans la doctrine des apôtres et dans le partage, et en rompant le pain et dans les prières.

 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 Et la crainte vint sur chaque âme: et beaucoup de prodiges et de signes se faisaient par les apôtres.

 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 Et tous ceux qui croyaient étaient ensemble, et avaient toutes choses en commun;

 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 Et ils vendaient leurs possessions et leurs biens, et les partageaient entre tous les hommes, selon le besoin que chaque homme avait.

 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 Et eux, continuant chaque jour d’un commun accord dans le temple et rompant le pain de maison en maison, mangeaient leur nourriture avec exultation et d’un seul cœur,

 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Louant Dieu, et trouvant faveur de tout le peuple. Et le Seigneur ajoutait chaque jour à l’église ceux qui devaient être sauvés.

 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
