1 Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : À cause de trois transgressions de Moab et même de quatre, je ne différerai pas sa punition, parce qu’il a brûlé et réduit en chaux les os du roi d’Edom ;
|
1 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime:
|
2 Mais j’enverrai un feu dans Moab, et il dévorera les palais de Kerioth (Kérijoth) ; et Moab mourra avec tumulte, avec clameurs, et au son de la trompette ;
|
2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:
|
3 Et je retrancherai le juge du milieu de son pays, et je tuerai tous ses princes avec lui, dit le SEIGNEUR.
|
3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD.
|
4 ¶ Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : À cause de trois transgressions de Judah (Juda) et même de quatre, je ne différerai pas sa punition, parce qu’ils ont méprisé la loi du SEIGNEUR et n’ont pas gardé ses commandements, et que leurs mensonges après lesquels avaient marché leurs pères les ont fait égarer ;

4 ¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked:
|
5 Mais j’enverrai un feu dans Judah (Juda), et il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem.
|
5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
|
6 ¶ Ainsi dit le SEIGNEUR : À cause de trois transgressions d’Israël et même de quatre, je ne différerai pas sa punition, parce qu’ils ont vendu le homme droit pour de l’argent, et le pauvre pour une paire de souliers ;
|
6 ¶ Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;
|
7 Soupirant après la poussière de la terre sur la tête des pauvres, et ils pervertissent le chemin des dociles ; et un homme et son père iront vers la même jeune fille, pour profaner mon saint nom ;
|
7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:
|
8 Et ils se couchent près de chaque autel, sur des vêtements pris en gage, et ils boivent le vin des condamnés dans la maison de leur dieu.
|
8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.
|
9 ¶ J’ai pourtant détruit devant eux l’Amorite, duquel la hauteur était comme la hauteur des cèdres, et il était fort comme les chênes ; et j’ai détruit son fruit en haut, et ses racines en bas ;
|
9 ¶ Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
|
10 Je vous ai aussi fait monter du pays d’Égypte et je vous ai conduits dans le désert quarante ans, pour posséder la terre de l’Amorite (Amoréen) ;

10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.
|
11 Et j’ai suscité parmi vos fils des prophètes, et parmi vos jeunes hommes, des nazaréens. N’est-il pas ainsi, ô vous, enfants d’Israël ? dit le SEIGNEUR.

11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.
|
12 Mais vous avez fait boire du vin aux nazaréens, et vous avez commandé aux prophètes, disant : Ne prophétisez pas.
|
12 But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.
|
13 Voici, je vais vous écraser, comme écrase une charrette pleine de gerbes.
|
13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.
|
14 Tellement que l’homme léger ne pourra fuir, et le fort ne pourra pas faire usage de sa force, et le puissant ne pourra se sauver lui-même ;
|
14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:
|
15 Et celui qui manie l’arc ne se tiendra pas ferme, et celui qui a les pieds légers ne pourra se sauver lui-même, et le cavalier non plus ne pourra se sauver lui-même.
|
15 Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself.
|
16 Et celui qui est le plus courageux parmi les puissants s’enfuira nu ce jour-là, dit le SEIGNEUR.
|
16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.
