1 Malheur à ceux qui sont à l’aise en Sion, et qui se confient en la montagne de Samarie, qui sont les plus célèbres des nations, auxquels la maison d’Israël venait !
|
1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
|
2 Passez à Calné, et voyez ; et de là, allez à Hamath la grande, puis descendez à Gath des Philistins ; sont-ils meilleurs que ces royaumes-ci ? Ou leur frontière plus grande que votre frontière ?
|
2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
|
3 Vous qui éloignez le jour mauvais, et qui faites approcher le siège de la violence,
|
3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
|
4 Qui vous couchez sur des lits d’ivoire, et qui vous étendez sur vos divans, et qui mangez les agneaux du troupeau, et les veaux pris de l’étable ;
|
4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
|
5 Qui chantez au son de la viole, et qui inventez des instruments de musique comme David ;
|
5 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
|
6 Qui buvez du vin dans des coupes, et vous vous oignez avec les meilleurs parfums ; mais vous n’avez pas été attristés de l’affliction de Joseph.
|
6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
|
7 ¶ C’est pourquoi maintenant ils s’en iront en captivité, parmi les premiers qui vont en captivité, et le festin de ceux qui s’étendaient sera ôté.
|
7 ¶ Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
|
8 Le Seigneur DIEU a juré par lui-même, dit le SEIGNEUR, le Dieu des armées J’ai en horreur l’orgueil de Jacob, et je hais ses palais ; c’est pourquoi je livrerai la ville avec tout ce qu’elle contient,
|
8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
|
9 Et il arrivera que, s’il reste dix hommes dans une maison, ils mourront.
|
9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
|
10 Et l’oncle de l’homme le prendra, et le brûlera, et enlèvera les os hors de la maison, et il dira à celui qui est au fond de la maison. Y a-t-il encore quelqu’un avec toi ? Et il répondra Non. Puis il dira : Tais-toi, car nous ne pouvons faire mention du nom du SEIGNEUR.

10 And a man’s uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.

11 Car voici, le SEIGNEUR commande, et il frappera la grande maison par des brèches, et la petite maison par des fentes.
|
11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
|
12 ¶ Les chevaux courront-ils sur le roc ? Y labourera- t-on avec des bœufs ? Car vous avez changé le jugement en fiel, et le fruit de la rectitude en cigüe,
|
12 ¶ Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
|
13 Vous qui vous réjouissez en ce qui n’est rien, et qui dites : Ne nous sommes-nous pas acquis de la puissance par notre propre force ?
|
13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
|
14 Car voici, je susciterai contre vous une nation, ô maison d’Israël, dit le SEIGNEUR le Dieu des armées, et ils vous opprimeront, depuis l’entrée de Hamath jusqu’à la rivière du désert.
|
14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
