1 Or il arriva après cela, que David frappa les Philistins et les subjugua ; et il prit Gath et les villes de son ressort, de la main des Philistins.
|
1 Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
|
2 Et il frappa Moab ; et les Moabites devinrent serviteurs de David, et lui apportèrent des présents.
|
2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.
|
3 ¶ Et David frappa Hadarezer, roi de Zobah, à Hamath, comme il allait pour établir sa domination près du fleuve Euphrate.
|
3 ¶ And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
|
4 Et David lui prit mille chariots, et sept mille cavaliers, et vingt mille fantassins ; David aussi coupa les jarrets des chevaux de tous les chariots ; mais il en réserva cent chariots.
|
4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.

5 Et quand les Syriens de Damas vinrent au secours de Hadarezer, roi de Zobah, David tua vingt-deux mille hommes des Syriens.
|
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
|
6 Puis David mit des garnisons en Syrie de Damas ; et les Syriens devinrent serviteurs de David, et lui apportèrent des présents. Ainsi le SEIGNEUR protégeait David partout où il allait.
|
6 Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
|
7 Et David prit les boucliers d’or qui étaient sur les serviteurs de Hadarezer, et les apporta à Jérusalem.
|
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
|
8 De même de Tibhath et de Chun, villes de Hadarezer, David emporta beaucoup de cuivre, dont Salomon fit la mer de cuivre, et les colonnes et les ustensiles de cuivre.
|
8 Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
|
9 ¶ Or quand Tou, roi de Hamath, entendit que David avait frappé toute l’armée de Hadarezer, roi de Zobah ;
|
9 ¶ Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
|
10 Il envoya Hadoram, son fils, vers le roi David, pour lui demander comment il se portait et le féliciter parce ce qu’il avait combattu Hadarezer, et l’avait frappé ; (car Hadarezer était en guerre continuelle avec Tou) ; et avec lui il envoya toutes sortes de vases d’or, d’argent et de cuivre.

10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
|
11 ¶ Puis le roi David les consacra au SEIGNEUR, avec l’argent et l’or qu’il avait emporté de toutes les nations, d’Edom, et de Moab, et des enfants d’Ammon, et des Philistins et d’Amalek.
|
11 ¶ Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
|
12 De plus Abishai, le fils de Zeruiah, tua dix-huit mille Edomites dans la vallée du Sel.
|
12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
|
13 ¶ Et il mit des garnisons en Edom, et tous les Edomites devinrent serviteurs de David. Ainsi le SEIGNEUR protégeait David partout où il allait.
|
13 ¶ And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David’s servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
|
14 ¶ Et David régna sur tout Israël, et rendait jugement et justice à tout son peuple.
|
14 ¶ So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.
|
15 Et Joab, le fils de Zeruiah, avait charge sur toute l’armée ; et Jehoshaphat, le fils d’Ahilud, était archiviste ;
|
15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
|
16 Et Zadok (Tsadok), le fils d’Ahitub, et Abimelech, le fils d’Abiathar, étaient prêtres, et Shavsha était scribe ;
|
16 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
|
17 Et Benaiah, le fils de Jehoiada, était sur les Cherethites et les Pelethites ; et les fils de David étaient chefs auprès du roi.
|
17 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
