1 ¶ Puis David dit : C’est Ici la maison du SEIGNEUR Dieu, et c’est ici l’autel des offrandes consumées pour Israël.
|
1 Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
|
2 Et David commanda de rassembler les étrangers qui étaient dans le pays d’Israël, et il établit des tailleurs de pierres pour tailler les pierres de taille, pour bâtir la maison de Dieu.
|
2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
|
3 Et David prépara du fer en abondance, pour les clous des battants des portes, et pour les assemblages, et du cuivre en abondance, d’un poids incalculable,
|
3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
|
4 Et des bois de cèdre en abondance ; car les Sidoniens et ceux de Tyre (Tyr) avaient amené à David beaucoup de bois de cèdre.
|
4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
|
5 Et David disait : Salomon, mon fils, est jeune et d’un âge tendre, et la maison qu’il faut bâtir pour le SEIGNEUR doit être extraordinairement magnifique, en renom et en gloire dans tous les pays ; c’est pourquoi je ferai maintenant les préparatifs pour elle. Ainsi David prépara abondamment, avant sa mort.

5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

6 ¶ Puis il appela Salomon, son fils, et le chargea de bâtir une maison au SEIGNEUR Dieu d’Israël.
|
6 ¶ Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.
|
7 Et David dit à Salomon : Mon fils, quant à moi, c’était dans ma pensée de bâtir une maison au nom du SEIGNEUR mon Dieu.
|
7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
|
8 Mais la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à moi, disant : Tu as versé beaucoup de sang, et tu as fait de grandes guerres ; tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, parce que tu as versé beaucoup de sang sur la terre à ma vue.
|
8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
|
9 Voici, un fils te naîtra, lequel sera un homme de repos, et je lui donnerai du repos de tous ses ennemis, tout autour, car son nom sera Salomon, et je donnerai paix et tranquillité à Israël durant ses jours.
|
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
|
10 Il bâtira une maison pour mon nom ; et il sera mon fils, et je serai son père ; et j’affermirai le trône de son royaume sur Israël, à toujours.
|
10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
|
11 Maintenant, mon fils, que le SEIGNEUR soit avec toi, et que tu prospères, et que tu bâtisses la maison du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, ainsi qu’il l’a dit de toi.
|
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
|
12 Seulement que le SEIGNEUR te donne sagesse et intelligence, et qu’il te donne charge concernant Israël, afin que tu puisses garder la loi du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu.
|
12 Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
|
13 Alors tu prospéreras, si tu prends garde à pratiquer les statuts et les jugements que le SEIGNEUR commanda à Moïse concernant Israël. Sois fort et prends courage ; ne crains pas et ne t’effraye pas.
|
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
|
14 Or voici, mon en mon affliction, j’ai préparé pour la maison du SEIGNEUR cent mille talents d’or et un million de talents d’argent ; et du cuivre et du fer, sans poids, car il y en a en abondance ; j’ai aussi préparé du bois et des pierres, et tu peux en ajouter.
|
14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
|
15 De plus il y a avec toi des ouvriers en abondance, des tailleurs de pierres, et des maçons, et des charpentiers, et toutes sortes d’hommes talentueux en tout genre d’ouvrage.
|
15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
|
16 Il y en a de l’or, de l’argent, du cuivre et du fer, sans nombre ; lève-toi donc et au travail, et que le SEIGNEUR soit avec toi.
|
16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.
|
17 ¶ David commanda aussi à tous les princes d’Israël d’aider Salomon, son fils, disant :
|
17 ¶ David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
|
18 Le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu n’est-il pas avec vous? Et ne vous a-t-il pas donné du repos de tous côtés? Car il a livré en ma main les habitants du pays, et le pays est assujetti devant le SEIGNEUR et devant son peuple.
|
18 Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
|
19 Maintenant appliquez votre cœur et votre âme à rechercher le SEIGNEUR, votre Dieu ; levez-vous donc, et bâtissez le sanctuaire du SEIGNEUR Dieu, afin d’amener l’arche de l’alliance du SEIGNEUR et les saints ustensiles de Dieu, dans la maison qui doit être bâtie au nom du SEIGNEUR.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
