1 Or quand tout cela fut fini, tous ceux d’Israël qui étaient présent, allèrent par les villes de Judah (Juda), et brisèrent en morceaux les statues, et abattirent les bosquets et démolirent les hauts lieux et les autels dans tout Judah (Juda) et Benjamin, dans Ephraim et Manasseh, jusqu’à ce qu’ils aient entièrement tout détruit. Puis tous les enfants d’Israël retournèrent dans leurs villes, chacun dans sa possession.

1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

2 ¶ Et Hezekiah assigna les classes des prêtres et des Lévites, selon leurs classes, chacun selon son service, les prêtres et les Lévites, pour les offrandes consumées et pour les offrandes de paix, pour faire le service, et pour remercier et pour louer aux portes des tentes du SEIGNEUR.

2 ¶ And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the LORD.
|
3 Il établit aussi la portion du roi prise sur ses biens pour les offrandes consumées, c’est-à-dire pour les offrandes consumées du matin et du soir, et pour les offrandes consumées des shabbats, et pour celles des nouvelles lunes et des fêtes établies, comme il est écrit dans la loi du SEIGNEUR.

3 He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the LORD.

4 De plus il commanda au peuple, qui demeurait à Jérusalem, de donner la portion des prêtres et des Lévites, afin qu’ils puissent s’appliquer à la loi du SEIGNEUR.
|
4 Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the LORD.
|
5 ¶ Et aussitôt que le commandement fut publié, les enfants d’Israël apportèrent en abondance les prémices de grain, vin, huile, miel et de tous les produits des champs ; et ils apportèrent la dîme de toutes ces choses, en abondance.
|
5 ¶ And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.
|
6 Et concernant les enfants d’Israël et de Judah (Juda), qui demeuraient dans les villes de Judah (Juda), ils apportèrent aussi la dîme des bœufs et des moutons, et la dîme des choses saintes, qui étaient consacrées au SEIGNEUR, leur Dieu ; et ils les disposèrent par tas.

6 And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps.

7 Au troisième mois, ils commencèrent de poser le fondement des tas, et ils les terminèrent au septième mois.
|
7 In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
|
8 Et quand Hezekiah et les princes vinrent, et virent les tas, ils bénirent le SEIGNEUR et son peuple Israël.
|
8 And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and his people Israel.
|
9 Puis Hezekiah interrogea les prêtres et les Lévites au sujet des tas.
|
9 Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
|
10 Et Azariah, le principal prêtre, de la maison de Zadok, lui répondit, et dit : Depuis que le peuple a commencé à apporter des offrandes dans la maison du SEIGNEUR, nous avons Reu assez à manger, et il en est resté en abondance ; car le SEIGNEUR a béni son peuple, et ce qui reste c’est cette grande quantité.

10 And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.
|
11 ¶ Alors Hezekiah commanda qu’on prépare des chambres dans la maison du SEIGNEUR, et on les prépara.
|
11 ¶ Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them,
|
12 Et on apporta fidèlement les offrandes, et les dîmes, et les choses dédiées, lesquelles Cononiah, le Lévite, était l’administrateur, et Shimei, son frère, était le second.
|
12 And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.
|
13 Et Jehiel, et Azaziah, et Nahath, et Asahel, et Jerimoth, et Jozabad, et Eliel, et Ismachiah, et Mahath, et Benaiah, étaient surveillants sous la main de Conaniah et de Shimei, son frère, par le commandement du roi Hezekiah, et d’Azariah, l’administrateur de la maison de Dieu.

13 And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Cononiah and Shimei his brother, at the commandment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.

14 Et Kore, le fils d’Imnah, le Lévite, le portier vers l’orient, avait la charge des offrandes volontaires offertes à Dieu, pour distribuer les oblations du SEIGNEUR, et les choses très saintes.
|
14 And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter toward the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of the LORD, and the most holy things.
|
15 Et après lui, étaient Eden, et Miniamin, et Jeshua, et Shemiah, Amariah, et Shecaniah dans les villes des prêtres, dans leur fonction établie, pour distribuer à leurs frères par classes, aussi bien aux grands qu’aux petits
|
15 And next him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:
|
16 Outre ceux suivant leur généalogie de mâles, depuis l’âge de trois ans et au-dessus ; c’est-à-dire, à tous ceux qui entraient dans la maison du SEIGNEUR, sa portion quotidienne pour leur service de leurs charges, selon leurs classes ;
|
16 Beside their genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the LORD, his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses;
|
17 À la fois à la généalogie des prêtres, selon la maison de leurs pères, qu’aux Lévites, depuis l’âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, dans leurs charges selon leurs classes ;
|
17 Both to the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses;
|
18 Et à la généalogie de leurs petits enfants, leurs femmes, leurs fils et leurs filles ; de toute la congrégation enregistrés car ils s’étaient sanctifiés en sainteté dans leur fonction établie.
|
18 And to the genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:
|
19 Et quant aux fils d’Aaron, les prêtres, qui étaient à la campagne, dans les faubourgs de leurs villes, il y avait dans chaque ville des hommes désignés par leurs noms, pour distribuer les portions à tous les mâles des prêtres, et à tous ceux des Lévites qui avaient été comptés par généalogies.

19 Also of the sons of Aaron the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites.
|
20 ¶ Et Hezekiah fit ainsi par tout Judah (Juda) ; et il exécuta ce qui était bon, et droit et vrai, devant le SEIGNEUR son Dieu.
|
20 ¶ And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.
|
21 Et dans chaque ouvrage qu’il entreprit pour le service de la maison de Dieu, et dans la loi, et dans les commandements, pour rechercher son Dieu, il agit de tout son cœur, et il prospéra.
|
21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
