1 De plus Josiah célébra la pâque au SEIGNEUR à Jérusalem, et on égorgea la pâque, au quatorzième jour du premier mois.

 1 Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

2 Et il établit les prêtres dans leurs charges, et les encouragea au service de la maison du SEIGNEUR.

 2 And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,

3 Et il dit aux Lévites qui enseignaient tout Israël, lesquels étaient saints au SEIGNEUR : Mettez l’arche sainte dans la maison que Salomon, le fils de David, roi d’Israël, a bâtie, elle ne sera plus une charge sur vos épaules ; servez maintenant le SEIGNEUR, votre Dieu, et son peuple Israël.

 3 And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

4 Et préparez-vous, selon les maisons de vos pères, selon vos classes, suivant l’écrit de David, roi d’Israël, et suivant l’écrit de Salomon, son fils ;

 4 And prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.

5 Et tenez-vous dans le lieu saint, selon les divisions des familles des pères de vos frères, le peuple, et suivant la division des familles des Lévites.

 5 And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brethren the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites.

6 Et égorgez la pâque, et sanctifiez-vous, et préparez-la pour vos frères, afin qu’ils puissent faire selon la parole du SEIGNEUR donnée par la main de Moïse.

 6 So kill the passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brethren, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

7 Et Josiah (Josias) donna au peuple, du troupeau ; agneaux et chevreaux, le tout pour les offrandes de la pâque pour tous ceux qui étaient présents, ainsi que trois mille bœufs ; ceux-là furent pris sur les biens du roi.

 7 And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these were of the king’s substance.

8 Et ses princes donnèrent volontairement pour le peuple, aux prêtres et aux Lévites : Hilkiah (Hilkija), et Zechariah (Zacharie) et Jehiel, dirigeants de la maison de Dieu, donnèrent aux prêtres pour les offrandes de la pâque, deux mille six cents agneaux, et trois cents bœufs.

 8 And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

9 Conaniah aussi, et Shemaiah et Nethaneel, ses frères, et Hashabiah, et Jeiel et Jozabad, chefs des Lévites, donnèrent aux Lévites pour les offrandes de la pâque, cinq agneaux et cinq cents bœufs.

 9 Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, chief of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for passover offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

10 Ainsi le service fut préparé, et les prêtres se tinrent à leur place, ainsi que les Lévites en leurs classes, selon le commandement du roi.

 10 So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king’s commandment.

11 Et on égorgea la pâque ; et les prêtres aspergèrent le sang de leurs mains, et les Lévites les dépouillaient.

 11 And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them.

12 Et ils retirèrent les offrandes consumées, afin qu’ils puissent les donner selon les divisions des familles du peuple, pour les offrir au SEIGNEUR, comme il es écrit dans le livre de Moïse. Et ainsi en firent-ils de même pour les bœufs.

 12 And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.

13 Et ils rôtirent la pâque au feu, selon l’ordonnance ; mais ils bouillirent les autres offrandes saintes dans des marmites, des chaudrons et des poêles ; et les partageaient rapidement parmi tout le peuple.

 13 And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the other holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided them speedily among all the people.

14 Ensuite ils apprêtèrent ce qu’il fallait pour eux et pour les prêtres ; parce que les prêtres, les fils d’Aaron, étaient occupés jusqu’à la nuit à offrir les offrandes consumées et les graisses ; c’est pourquoi, les Lévites préparèrent ce qui était pour eux-mêmes et pour les prêtres, les fils d’Aaron.

 14 And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

15 Et les chanteurs, les fils d’Asaph, étaient à leur place, selon le commandement de David, et d’Asaph, et d’Heman et de Jeduthun, le voyant du roi ; et les portiers servaient à chaque porte ; ils n’eurent pas à quitter leur service, car leurs frères, les Lévites, préparaient ce qui était pour eux.

 15 And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

16 Ainsi, tout le service du SEIGNEUR fut préparé ce jour-là pour célébrer la pâque, et pour offrir les offrandes consumées sur l’autel du SEIGNEUR, selon le commandement du roi Josiah (Josias).

 16 So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

17 Et les enfants d’Israël qui étaient présents célébrèrent la pâque, en ce temps-là, et la fête du pain sans levain, durant sept jours.

 17 And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.

18 Et on n’avait pas célébré de pâque semblable en Israël, depuis les jours de Samuel, le prophète ; aucun des rois d’Israël n’avait célébré une telle pâque comme celle que célébrèrent Josiah, et les prêtres et les Lévites, et tout Judah (Juda) et Israël, qui étaient présents, ainsi que les habitants de Jérusalem.

 18 And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

19 Cette pâque fut célébrée la dix-huitième année du règne de Josiah.

 19 In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.

20 ¶ Après tout cela, quand Josiah eut réparé le temple, Necho, roi d’Égypte, monta pour se battre contre Carchemish, près de l’Euphrate ; et Josiah sortit vers lui.

 20 ¶ After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

21 Mais il lui envoya des ambassadeurs, disant ; Qu’ai-je à faire avec toi, toi, roi de Judah (Juda) ? Je ne suis pas venu contre toi aujourd’hui, mais contre la maison avec laquelle je suis en guerre ; car Dieu m’a commandé de me hâter. Désiste-toi d’intervenir contre Dieu, qui est avec moi, afin qu’il ne te détruise pas.

 21 But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

22 Néanmoins Josiah ne voulut pas se détourner de lui ; mais se déguisa pour qu’il puisse se battre contre lui ; et il n’écouta pas les paroles de Necho qui venaient de la bouche de Dieu ; et il vint se battre, dans la plaine de Megiddo (Méguiddo).

 22 Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

23 Et les archers tirèrent sur le roi Josiah ; et le roi dit à ses serviteurs : Emportez-moi, car je suis fort blessé.

 23 And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded.

24 Et ses serviteurs l’ôtèrent du chariot, et le mirent sur un second chariot qu’il avait, et le menèrent à Jérusalem, et il mourut¸ et fut enterré dans un des sépulcres de ses pères. Et tous ceux de Judah (Juda) et de Jérusalem menèrent deuil sur Josiah (Josias).

 24 His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

25 ¶ Et Jeremiah (Jérémie) se lamenta sur Josiah ; et tous les chanteurs et toutes les chanteuses ont parlé de Josiah dans leurs lamentations jusqu’à ce jour, et les ont faites comme ordonnance en Israël ; et voici, elles sont écrites dans les lamentations.

 25 ¶ And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

26 Et le reste des actions de Josiah, et ses bontés, selon ce qui était écrit dans la loi du SEIGNEUR,

 26 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his goodness, according to that which was written in the law of the LORD,

27 Et ses faits, les premiers et les derniers, voici sont écrits dans le livre des rois d’Israël et de Judah (Juda).

 27 And his deeds, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
