1 En la première année de Darius, fils d’Ahasuerus (Assuérus), de la semence des Mèdes, qui avait été établi roi sur le royaume des Chaldéens ;

 1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;

2 En la première année de son règne, moi, Daniel, je compris par les livres que le nombre des années duquel la parole du SEIGNEUR vint à Jeremiah (Jérémie) le prophète, qu’il accomplirait soixante-dix années de désolations dans Jérusalem.

 2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

3 ¶ Et je tournai ma face vers le Seigneur Dieu, pour le chercher par la prière et des supplications, avec jeûne, et le sac et la cendre.

 3 ¶ And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

4 Et je priai le SEIGNEUR mon Dieu, et fis ma confession, et dis : Ô Seigneur, Dieu grand et redoutable, qui gardes l’alliance et la miséricorde à ceux qui t’aiment et qui gardent tes commandements.

 4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

5 Nous avons péché, nous avons commis l’iniquité, nous avons agi odieusement, nous avons été rebelles et nous nous sommes détournés de tes préceptes et de tes jugements.

 5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:

6 Et nous n’avons pas prêté attention à tes serviteurs les prophètes, qui ont parlé en ton nom à nos rois, à nos princes, et à nos pères et à tout le peuple du pays.

 6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

7 À toi, ô Seigneur, appartient la rectitude, mais à nous la honte de nos visages, comme aujourd’hui, aux hommes de Judah (Juda) , aux habitants de Jérusalem et à tout Israël, à ceux qui sont près et à ceux qui sont loin, dans tous les pays où tu les as chassés, à cause de leurs offenses qu’ils ont commises contre toi.

 7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

8 Ô Seigneur, à nous appartient la honte du visage, à nos rois, à nos princes et à nos pères, parce que nous avons péché contre toi.

 8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.

9 Au Seigneur notre Dieu, appartiennent miséricordes et pardons, bien que nous nous soyons rebellés contre lui.

 9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;

10 Nous n’avons pas non plus obéi à la voix du SEIGNEUR notre Dieu pour marcher dans ses lois qu’il avait mises devant nous par le moyen de ses serviteurs les prophètes.

 10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

11 Oui, tout Israël a transgressé ta loi et s’est même détourné pour ne pas obéir à ta voix ; c’est pourquoi la malédiction est versée sur nous, et le serment, qui est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, serviteur de Dieu, ont fondu sur nous, parce que nous avons péché contre lui.

 11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.

12 Et il a ratifié ses paroles qu’il avait prononcées contre nous et contre nos juges qui nous jugeaient, en faisant venir sur nous un grand mal, tel qu’il n’en est pas arrivé sous tout le ciel, de semblable à celui qui a été fait à Jérusalem.

 12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.

13 Selon qu’il est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, tout ce mal est venu sur nous ; cependant nous n’avons pas prié la face du SEIGNEUR notre Dieu, afin que nous puissions nous détourner de nos iniquités et de comprendre ta vérité.

 13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.

14 C’est pourquoi le SEIGNEUR a veillé sur le mal, et l’a fait venir sur nous, car le SEIGNEUR notre Dieu est droit dans toutes les œuvres qu’il fait, mais nous n’avons pas obéi à sa voix.

 14 Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.

15 Et maintenant, ô Seigneur notre Dieu, qui as fait sortir ton peuple du pays d’Égypte par une main puissante, et qui t’es acquis un nom tel qu’il est aujourd’hui, nous avons péché, nous avons agi odieusement.

 15 And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

16 ¶ Ô Seigneur, je te supplie, selon toute ton intégrité, que ta colère et ta fureur se détournent de ta ville de Jérusalem, ta sainte montagne ; parce qu’à cause de nos péchés et à cause des iniquités de nos pères, Jérusalem et ton peuple sont devenus une honte à tous ceux qui nous entourent.

 16 ¶ O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.

17 Et maintenant entend, ô notre Dieu, la prière de ton serviteur et ses supplications ; et pour l’amour du Seigneur, fais luire ta face sur ton sanctuaire qui est dévasté.

 17 Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.

18 Ô mon Dieu, incline ton oreille, et entend ; ouvre tes yeux et contemple nos désolations, et la ville qui est appelée par ton nom ; car nous ne présentons pas nos supplications devant ta face, à cause de notre rectitude, mais à cause de tes grandes compassions.

 18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.

19 Ô Seigneur, entend, ô Seigneur, pardonne ; ô Seigneur, sois attentif et agis, ne tarde pas, à cause de toi-même ; ô mon Dieu car ta ville et ton peuple sont appelés par ton nom.

 19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

20 ¶ Et tandis que je parlais et priais, et confessais mon péché et le péché de mon peuple d’Israël, et que je présentais ma supplication devant le SEIGNEUR mon Dieu, pour la sainte montagne de mon Dieu ;

 20 ¶ And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;

21 Oui, tandis que je parlais en priant, cet homme, Gabriel, que j’avais vu en vision au commencement, volant rapidement, me toucha vers le moment de l’oblation du soir.

 21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

22 Et il me fit comprendre, et parla avec moi et dit : Ô Daniel, je suis sorti maintenant pour te donner habileté et intelligence.

 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

23 Au commencement de tes supplications le commandement est sorti, et je suis venu te le déclarer, parce que tu es grandement bien-aimé ; c’est pourquoi comprends le sujet, et réfléchis à la vision.

 23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

24 Soixante-dix semaines sont déterminées sur ton peuple et sur ta sainte ville, pour terminer la transgression, et pour mettre fin aux péchés, et pour faire réconciliation pour l’iniquité, et pour amener la rectitude éternelle, et pour sceller la vision et la prophétie, et pour oindre le plus Saint.

 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Sache donc et comprends que depuis la sortie du commandement de restaurer et de rebâtir Jérusalem, jusqu’au Messie, le Prince, il y aura sept semaines et soixante-deux semaines les rues et les murailles seront rebâties, et ce en des temps difficiles.

 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 Et après les soixante-deux semaines, le Messie sera retranché, et non pas pour lui ; et le peuple du prince qui viendra, détruira la ville et le sanctuaire, et sa fin sera avec débordement, et les désolations sont déterminées jusqu’à la fin de la guerre.

 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 Et il confirmera l’alliance avec beaucoup pendant une semaine ; et au milieu de la semaine, il fera cesser le sacrifice et l’oblation ; et à cause du déploiement des abominations il la rendra dévasté, même jusqu’à consomption qui était arrêtée sera versée sur le désolé.

 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
