1 Tu ne sacrifieras au SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, ni taurillon, ni mouton qui ait un défaut, ou une difformité quelconque ; car c’est une abomination pour le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu.

 1 Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

2 ¶ S’il se trouve parmi vous, dans une de tes portes que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te donne, un homme ou une femme qui agit avec malfaisance aux yeux du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, en transgressant son alliance,

 2 ¶ If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

3 Et qui aille et serve d’autres dieux, et qui les adore, soit devant le soleil, ou devant la lune, ou devant toute l’armée du ciel, ce que je n’ai pas commandé ;

 3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

4 Et que cela te soit rapporté, et que tu l’apprennes ; alors tu t’en enquerras soigneusement, et, voici, si c’est vrai, et que la chose est certaine, qu’une telle abomination a été commise en Israël,

 4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

5 Alors tu feras sortir vers tes portes, cet homme, ou cette femme qui aura commis cette méchante chose, cet homme dis-je, ou cette femme, tu les lapideras de pierres, jusqu’à ce qu’ils meurent.

 5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

6 De la bouche de deux témoins ou trois témoins sera mis à mort celui qui est passible de mise à mort ; mais il ne sera pas mis à mort de la bouche d’un seul témoin.

 6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

7 Les mains des témoins seront les premières sur lui pour le mettre à mort, et ensuite les mains de tout le peuple. Ainsi tu ôteras le mal du milieu de toi.

 7 The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

8 ¶ S’il s’élève une affaire trop difficile à juger pour toi, entre sang et sang, entre cause et cause, entre plaie et plaie, qui sont des affaires de procès dans tes portes, alors tu te lèveras et tu monteras au lieu que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu choisira ;

 8 ¶ If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up into the place which the LORD thy God shall choose;

9 Et tu viendras vers les prêtres, les Lévites, et vers le juge qui siègera en ces jours-là, et tu t’enquerras, et ils te déclareront la sentence du jugement.

 9 And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgment:

10 Et tu agiras selon la sentence qu’ils t’auront déclaré, de ce lieu que le SEIGNEUR aura choisi, et tu seras sûr de faire selon tout ce dont ils t’auront informé.

 10 And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall shew thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee:

11 Tu agiras selon la sentence de la loi qu’ils t’auront enseignée, et selon le jugement qu’ils t’auront prononcé ; tu ne t’écarteras pas de ce qu’ils t’auront déclaré, ni à main droite ni à gauche.

 11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

12 Et l’homme qui agira avec arrogance et ne voudra pas écouter le prêtre qui se tient là pour administrer devant le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu, ou au juge, cet homme-là mourra, et tu ôteras le mal hors d’Israël.

 12 And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

13 Et tout le peuple l’entendra et craindra, et n’agira plus avec arrogance.

 13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 ¶ Quand tu seras entré au pays que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te donne, et que tu le posséderas et y demeureras, que tu diras : J’établirai un roi sur moi, comme toutes les nations qui sont autour de moi,

 14 ¶ When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

15 Tu ne pourras en aucun cas établir un autre roi sur toi que celui que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu choisira ; tu établiras sur toi un roi d’entre tes frères ; tu ne pourras pas établir un étranger sur toi, qui ne soit pas ton frère.

 15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.

16 Seulement il ne s’amassera pas une multitude de chevaux, et il ne fera pas retourner le peuple en Égypte, afin qu’il multiplie le nombre de chevaux ; puisque le SEIGNEUR vous a dit : Vous ne retournerez jamais plus par ce chemin-là.

 16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.

17 Il ne multipliera pas non plus le nombre de femmes, afin que son cœur ne se détourne pas ; il ne multipliera pas non plus pour lui-même argent et or.

 17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 Et il arrivera, quand il sera assis sur le trône de son royaume, qu’il écrira pour lui dans un livre, une copie de cette loi, laquelle est devant les prêtres, les Lévites.

 18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:

19 Et il ce livre sera avec lui, et il y lira tous les jours de sa vie, afin qu’il puisse apprendre à craindre le SEIGNEUR son Dieu, à garder tous les mots de cette loi et ces statuts pour les faire ;

 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

20 Afin que son cœur ne s’élève au-dessus de ses frères, et qu’il ne se détourne pas du commandement, ni à main droite ni à gauche ; afin qu’il puisse prolonger ses jours dans son royaume, lui et ses fils, au milieu d’Israël.

 20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
