1 Les prêtres, les Lévites, et toute la tribu de Levi (Lévi), n’auront ni part ni héritage avec le reste d’Israël ; ils mangeront les offrandes du SEIGNEUR, faites par feu et de son héritage.

 1 The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.

2 C’est pourquoi ils n’auront pas d’héritage parmi leurs frères ; le SEIGNEUR est leur héritage, comme il le leur a dit.

 2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.

3 ¶ Et ceci sera le droit des prêtres de la part du peuple, de ceux qui offrent un sacrifice, que ce soit bœuf, ou mouton ; on donnera au prêtre l’épaule, les deux joues et l’estomac.

 3 ¶ And this shall be the priest’s due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.

4 Tu lui donneras aussi les prémices de ton grain, de ton vin et de ton huile, et les premiers fruits de la toison de tes moutons ;

 4 The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.

5 Car le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu l’a choisi d’entre toutes tes tribus, afin qu’il assiste pour administrer au nom du SEIGNEUR, lui et ses fils, à toujours.

 5 For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.

6 ¶ Et si un Lévite vient d’une de tes portes, de tout Israël où il séjourne, et qu’il vienne, avec tout le désir de sa pensée, au lieu que le SEIGNEUR aura choisi,

 6 ¶ And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall choose;

7 Ainsi il administrera au nom du SEIGNEUR son Dieu, comme tous ses frères, les Lévites qui se tiennent là devant le SEIGNEUR,

 7 Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before the LORD.

8 Ils mangeront une égale portion, outre ce qu’il aura vendu de son patrimoine.

 8 They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.

9 ¶ Quand tu seras entré dans le pays que le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te donne, tu n’apprendras pas à faire selon les abominations de ces nations.

 9 ¶ When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 Il ne se trouvera parmi vous personne qui fasse passer par le feu son fils ou sa fille, ou qui use de divination, ni astrologue, ni enchanteur, ni sorcier,

 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

11 Ni envoûteur, ni personne qui consulte les esprits, ni magicien, ni nécromancien ;

 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 Car tous ceux qui font ces choses sont une abomination au SEIGNEUR, et à cause de ces abominations le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu chasse les nations de devant toi.

 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Tu seras parfait avec le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu.

 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

14 Car ces nations, lesquelles tu posséderas, écoutent les astrologues et les devins ; mais quant à toi, le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu ne t’a pas permis de faire ainsi.

 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

15 ¶ Le SEIGNEUR ton Dieu te suscitera un Prophète comme moi, du milieu de toi, d’entre tes frères ; vous l’écouterez ;

 15 ¶ The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

16 Selon tout ce que tu as désiré du SEIGNEUR ton Dieu en Horeb, au jour de l’assemblée, disant : Que je n’entende plus la voix du SEIGNEUR mon Dieu, et que je ne voie plus ce grand feu, afin que je ne meure pas.

 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

17 Et le SEIGNEUR me dit : Ils ont bien dit ce qu’ils ont dit.

 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

18 Je leur susciterai un Prophète comme toi,d’entre leurs frères et je mettrai mes paroles dans sa bouche, et il leur dira tout ce que je lui commanderai.

 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

19 Et il arrivera que quiconque n’écoutera pas mes paroles, qu’il dira en mon nom, je le lui redemanderai.

 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

20 Mais le prophète qui présumera aura l’audace de dire en mon nom une parole que je ne lui aurai pas commandé de dire, ou qui parlera au nom d’autres dieux, ce prophète-là mourra.

 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

21 Et si tu dis en ton cœur : Comment connaîtrons-nous la parole que le SEIGNEUR n’a pas dite ?

 21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?

22 Quand un prophète parlera au nom du SEIGNEUR, et que la chose ne suivra pas, ni n’arrivera pas, c’est que le SEIGNEUR n’a pas dit cette chose ; mais le prophète l’a dite présomptueusement ; tu n’auras pas peur de lui.

 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
