1 Enfants, obéissez à vos parents dans le Seigneur: car cela est bien.
|
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
|
2 Honore ton père et ta mère; (lequel est le premier commandement avec promesse);
|
2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
|
3 Afin que tout puisse bien aller avec toi, et que tu puisses vivre longtemps sur la terre.
|
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
|
4 Et vous, pères, ne provoquez pas vos enfants au courroux: mais élevez-les dans l’instruction et l’admonition du Seigneur.
|
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
|
5 Serviteurs, soyez obéissants à ceux qui sont vos maîtres selon la chair, avec crainte et tremblement, avec votre cœur entier, comme à Christ;
|
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
|
6 Pas seulement quand on a l’œil sur vous, comme voulant plaire aux hommes; mais comme les serviteurs de Christ, faisant la volonté de Dieu du fond du cœur;
|
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
|
7 Servant avec bienveillance, comme au Seigneur, et non aux hommes:
|
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
|
8 Sachant que quelque bonne chose que l’homme fait, il recevra l’identique du Seigneur, qu’il soit asservi ou libre.
|
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
|
9 Et vous, maîtres, faites les mêmes choses envers eux, cessant la menace: sachant que votre Maître est aussi au ciel; d’ailleurs il n’y a pas de distinction entre les personnes avec lui.
|
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
|
10 Finalement, mes frères, soyez forts dans le Seigneur, et dans le pouvoir de sa puissance.
|
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
|
11 Revêtez-vous de toute l’armure de Dieu, afin que vous puissiez être capables de résister aux stratagèmes du diable.
|
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
|
12 Car nous ne luttons pas contre la chair et le sang, mais contre des principautés, contre des pouvoirs, contre les dirigeants de l’obscurité de ce monde, contre l’immoralité spirituelle en hauts lieux.
|
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
|
13 C’est pourquoi prenez sur vous toute l’armure de Dieu, afin que vous puissiez être capables de tenir tête au mauvais jour, et ayant tout fait, pour tenir debout.
|
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
|
14 Tenez-vous debout donc, ayant vos flancs; ceints de vérité, et ayant revêtu la cuirasse de droiture;
|
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
|
15 Et vos pieds chaussés de la préparation de l’évangile de paix;
|
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
|
16 Par-dessus tout, prenant le bouclier de la foi, avec lequel vous serez capables de refouler tous les dards enflammés du malin.
|
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
|
17 Et prenez le casque du salut, et l’épée de l’Esprit, laquelle est la parole de Dieu:
|
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
|
18 Priant toujours tout en prière et supplication en l’Esprit, et veillant à cela avec toute persévérance et supplication pour tous les saints;
|
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
|
19 Et pour moi, que l’élocution puisse m’être donnée, afin que je puisse ouvrir ma bouche hardiment, pour faire connaître le mystère de l’évangile,
|
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
|
20 Pour lequel je suis un ambassadeur enchaîné: qu’en cela je puisse parler hardiment, comme je dois parler.
|
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
|
21 Mais afin que vous aussi puissiez connaître mon état, et comment je vais, Tychique, un frère bien-aimé et fidèle ministre dans le Seigneur, vous fera connaître toutes choses:
|
21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
|
22 Lequel j’ai envoyé vers vous avec ce même dessein, afin que vous puissiez connaître notre état, et qu’il puisse réconforter vos cœurs.
|
22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
|
23 Paix soit aux frères, et l’amour avec la foi, de la part de Dieu le Père et du Seigneur Jésus Christ.
|
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
|
24 Grâce soit avec tous ceux qui aiment notre Seigneur Jésus Christ dans la sincérité. Amen.
|
24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
