1 Puis le SEIGNEUR dit à Moïse : Maintenant tu verras ce que je ferai à Pharaon ; car par une main forte, il les laissera partir, et par une main forte, il les chassera de son pays.

 1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

2 Et Dieu parla à Moïse et lui dit : Je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:

3 Et je suis apparu à Abraham, à Isaac, et à Jacob, par le nom du Dieu Tout-puissant ; mais par mon nom JEHOVAH je n’ai pas été connu d’eux.

 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

4 Et j’ai aussi établi mon alliance avec eux, pour leur donner la terre de Canaan, la terre de leurs pèlerinages, dans laquelle ils étaient étrangers.

 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.

5 Et j’ai aussi entendu les gémissements des enfants d’Israël, que les Égyptiens tiennent en servitude ; et je me suis souvenu de mon alliance.

 5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.

6 C’est pourquoi, dis aux enfants d’Israël : Je suis le SEIGNEUR et je vous déchargerai des fardeaux des Égyptiens et je vous débarrasserai de leur servitude, et je vous rachèterai avec un bras étendu et par de grands jugements.

 6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

7 Et je vous prendrai pour être mon peuple et je serai pour vous un Dieu et vous saurez que je suis le SEIGNEUR votre Dieu, qui vous décharge des fardeaux des Égyptiens.

 7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

8 Et je vous ferai entrer dans la terre pour laquelle j’ai juré de la donner à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob ; et je vous la donnerai en héritage : Je suis le SEIGNEUR.

 8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.

9 ¶ Et Moïse parla ainsi aux enfants d’Israël ; mais ils n’écoutèrent pas Moïse à cause de leur angoisse d’esprit et de leur cruelle servitude.

 9 ¶ And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

10 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse, disant :

 10 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

11 Va, parle à Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, afin qu’il laisse sortir les enfants d’Israël de son pays.

 11 Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

12 Et Moïse parla devant le SEIGNEUR, et dit : Voici, les enfants d’Israël ne m’ont pas écouté ; comment alors Pharaon m’entendra-t-il, moi qui suis incirconcis de lèvres ?

 12 And Moses spake before the LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?

13 Et le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse et à Aaron et leur donna charge des enfants d’Israël et de Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, pour faire sortir les enfants d’Israël du pays d’Égypte.

 13 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14 ¶ Ce sont ici les chefs des maisons de leurs pères : Les fils de Reuben (Ruben), le premier-né d’Israël : Hanoch (Hénoc) et Pallu, Hezron (Hetsron), et Carmi. Ce sont là les familles de Reuben (Ruben).

 14 ¶ These be the heads of their fathers’ houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of Reuben.

15 Et les fils de Simeon (Siméon) : Jemuel (Jémuel), et Jamin, et Ohad, et Jachin (Jakin), et Zohar (Tsochar) et Shaul (Saül) le fils d’une Cananéenne. Ce sont là les familles de Simeon (Siméon).

 15 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.

16 ¶ Et ce sont ici les noms des fils de Levi (Lévi), selon leurs générations : Gershon (Guershon), et Kohath (Kéhath), et Merari (Mérari). Et les années de la vie de Levi (Lévi) furent de cent trente-sept ans.

 16 ¶ And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years.

17 Les fils de Gershon (Guershon) : Libni et Shimi (Simhi), selon leurs familles.

 17 The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.

18 Et les fils de Kohath (Kéhath) : Amram (Hamram), Izhar (Jitshar), et Hebron (Hébron) et Uzziel (Huziel). Et les années de la vie de Kohath (Kéhath) furent de cent trente-trois ans.

 18 And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years.

19 Et les fils de Merari (Mérari) : Mahali (Mahli) et Mushi (Musi). Ce sont là les familles de Levi (Lévi), selon leurs générations.

 19 And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations.

20 Et Amram (Hamran) prit pour femme Jochebed (Jokébed), la sœur de son père et elle lui enfanta  Aaron et Moïse. Et les années de la vie d’Amram (Hamran) furent de cent trente-sept ans.

 20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father’s sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.

21 ¶ Et les fils de Izhar (Jitshar) : Korah (Coré), Nepheg (Népheg) et Zichri (Zicri).

 21 ¶ And the sons of Izhar; Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

22 Et les fils d’Uzziel (Huziel) : Mishael (Misaël), Elzaphan (Eltsaphan) et Zithri (Sithri).

 22 And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri.

23 Et Aaron prit pour femme Elisheba (Elisébah), fille d’Amminadab (Hamminadab), sœur de Naashon (Nahasson) et elle lui enfanta Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar (Eléazar) et Ithamar.

 23 And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

24 Et les fils de Korah (Coré) : Assir, Elkanah (Elkana) et Abiasaph ; ce sont là les familles des Korhites (Corites).

 24 And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korhites.

25 Et Eleazar (Éléazar), fils d’Aaron, prit pour femme une des filles de Putiel (Puthiel) et elle lui enfanta Phinehas (Phinées). Ce sont les chefs des pères des Lévites, selon leurs familles.

 25 And Eleazar Aaron’s son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.

26 Ce sont là cet Aaron et ce Moïse, à qui le SEIGNEUR dit : Faites sortir les enfants d’Israël du pays d’Égypte, selon leurs armées.

 26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.

27 Ce sont eux qui parlèrent à Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, pour faire sortir les enfants d’Israël d’Égypte: Ce sont ce Moïse et cet Aaron.

 27 These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.

28 ¶ Et il arriva qu’au jour où le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse, dans le pays d’Égypte,

 28 ¶ And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

29 Le SEIGNEUR parla à Moïse, disant : Je suis le SEIGNEUR ; dis à Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, tout ce que je te dis.

 29 That the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I am the LORD: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.

30 Et Moïse dit devant le SEIGNEUR : Voici, je suis incirconcis de lèvres ; et comment Pharaon m’écoutera-t-il ?

 30 And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?
